Welcome to our second developer log, where we introduce our first playable character, him being Hector, the head of The Grugs, the man of the cave, however lazy he may be.
Our early designs for Hector started with the idea of an unconventional caveman, who is not the typical strong and dumb brute, but someone full of creative ideas and just a mind of his own. Throw this character into a family setting, and soon he'll be tired of all of the responsabilties and troubles of a serious life. In terms of looks, we went with a heavily stylized, floating hands look, but we wanted to have a clear siluette for the character, and so the hair and the beard made that possible. Below you can find an artwork for Hector we used in a promotional video. While in a side view his facial expressions are mostly hidden, make no mistake, Hector has become one of our most expressive characters when it comes to sounds, movements and facial mimicry.
When it came to animating Hector, we focused on making his movements solid and strong, yet quirky and erratic at the same time. In our experience, the animations and movements of a character tell the most about them, and so out of all of our characters, Hector has the most animated movements and interactions. Another important part of a character is how the player can customize them, looking at Hector, he has a variety of unlockable skins for character expression: from pirates and vikings, to monsters and wizards, Hector has a lot of costumes to choose from!
While at first, Hector might seem like he's truly just a simple guy, he has a lot of depth as well. He's the artist of the family, being responsible for many of the cave paintings in The Grugs games. He's also the wielder of the first tool of man, the almighty club, with which he can smash anything that comes his way, provided he's brave enough to do so!

Game Loading
Fixed a loading issue where some people would get stuck at 25% of the loading bar.
Fixed an issue with players being unable to load while subscribed to workshop items that do not exist anymore.
Fixed an issue with platforms API not initializing on time, preventing some people from loading.

The whole server will be maintained from 10:00 to 12:00 on Thursday, September 7. You can't log in to the game during the maintenance process. Please inform each other. The new server S317 will be opened at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 2. The return of old players began on September 7. The return of old players begins: Activity time: 00:00 on September 7th to 23:59 p.m. on September 13. Return player definition: Calculated from the first login at the beginning of the activity, players who have not logged in for 7 consecutive days will be judged to be returned players after logging in for the first time during the activity time, and the status will not be modified after that. Returning players can bind a non-return player in the same server. Non-return player definition: Players who do not meet the definition of return players will be judged as non-return players when logging in for the first time during the activity time. The middle state will not be modified. New characters created during the event are also non-return players. Non-return players can be bound by 3 return players in the same server. During the activity: Returning players will issue corresponding resources and ingot rewards according to the lost time when logging in for the first time. All players can receive daily login rewards every day during the activity. During the activity, returning players and non-returned players can receive corresponding rewards after recharging the corresponding amount. Updated flippers to allow for proper skill shots using the flipper buttons for passing flipper-to-flipper etc with a new "flipper tuner" option to help dial in the right flipper feel

Added new Live Test Mode. While in Play Mode, during a game, you can press U to show the mouse cursor which you can then use to click on targets, switches, etc to trigger them for easy logic testing.
Added new playfield blueprint layout snapshot option allowing for the export of playfield layouts for printing or use in producing real world playfields. NOTE: While this is available, it needs further tweaking to resolve a camera parallax issue, but we wanted you to be able to explore this option if you want.
Major update to PB file management system. User table files, images and sounds can now be grouped in their own folders under UserImages and UserSounds. Folder items and folders will be displayed automatically. NOTE: Files moved from one folder to another may need to be updated in Edit Mode.
Added new more realistic plastics type based on PNG images. NOTE: these do not have collision and balls will not roll on them and may get trapped under them behind posts, etc.
Added new ball reset hotkey. Press R to reset ball back into shooter lane. NOTE: Will move ALL active balls on the playfield to the shooter lane.
