Hey, everyone, hope you're enjoying the demo! We had a small hotfix that addressed a few, mostly minor errors, though there were a couple of potential game-breaking bugs that we got.
Patch Notes:
Disabled combos if any of the required actors were already casting
Fixed crash when combo actor was unavailable at time of combo execution
Fixed Status Effects being applied multiple times instead of refreshing.
Fixed Counters being applied multiple times instead of refreshing
Fixed Counters not displaying their duration
Fixed leader colliding with object post battle when in a specific battle position
Reduced the range that the scrapped wall text can be interacted with
A quick little hotfix to address a few bugs and some balance changes
Bugs
Addressed a bug where the default controls would sometimes not map
Now the Game Over screen the “New Run” and “Main Menu” buttons are now disabled until all the XP is earned
Fixed a bug where the map hazards would always be lasers
Marble
The 1.0 patch removed the limit for how many marbles you could have a once. I like the change, but it made the marble too good too soon. My goal was to make marble a weaker option to take without supporting relics, and allow it to become a more powerful option with upgrades.
Lowered the marble damage from [30, 45, 70, 100] → [20, 40, 70, 100]
Increased the marble cool down from [4, 3, 2,1] → [5, 3, 2, 1]
Snow Day
Simply pulling back some of the area of effect scale modifiers. There are plenty of relics that make will increase the AOE and this represent a much more balanced approach.
Lowered the scale from [1, 1.5, 2, 2.5] → [1, 1.3, 1.7, 2.20]
Amulet of Slap Jack
Pure -1 cool down on a common relic is just too good and almost becomes an auto pickup for any build. So to counter this I’m going to add a downside.
This fixes a crash issue that was occurring on linux due to "too many mmaps" due to a bug in unity that also gets hit in some other popular games, but which we're now able to bypass hitting thanks to the extensive debugging aid of Zoey. As a side effect of investigating this, performance should be better related to large amounts of text being shown on every OS, and on every OS there is a notable reduction in RAM usage in all games.
Dismiss has fixed up the FRD waffling that could happen, and also consolidated some of the other FRD settings. And then there are a few mod updates, and some new features for modders.

The Magician's Trial quest will properly detect the jobs of all party members.
Distributed the MVP Reward Points for Marvel Machine purchases.

We hope everyone has been having a fun time with 1.4.4 tModLoader! We are happy to see that a large majority of popular mods have already been updated to work with the latest tModLoader. In fact, over 85% of all mods by subscriber count have made it to 1.4.4 tModLoader already.
Over the last month the tModLoader team and our amazing contributor community have been hard at work fixing bugs and other issues. This months update focuses on bug fixes. We also managed to greatly improve the in-game workshop performance, please check it out.
Modders: Next month tModLoader will add many new exciting features, such as Builders Toggles, Emote Bubbles, World Headers, Rubblemaker support, and a reworked NPC buff immunity system, so modders should take the opportunity this month to experiment with these features on the preview beta branch, preview-v2023.08, prior to their release. You'll need to switch to this new beta branch even if you were previously in preview-v2023.07. In addition, there are other changes that might break your mods, so be sure to test your mods and publish an update on preview before October if needed.

We recently started localizing the store page and workshop tags. We are also lacking a great deal of in-game translations for several languages still. If you are interested in translating these, please get in contact with us on Discord to ask how to contribute translations or visit the tModLoader wiki for instructions.
There has been a new song added, and with the soundtrack coming closer and closer to being complete I have moved a few songs around to try and make them flow better.
Additionally, there is now controller vibration! I've tried to tune it to be useful and immersive but not overwhelming. I'd love to hear people's feedback as to how it feels.
There have also been some balance tweaks, and a bug was fixed where the hangar music could sometimes stop.
The newly added "World of Barian" contains "Number C39: Utopia Ray V" that can destroy a monster and then inflict effect damage, and even the Ritual Monster "Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman" that possesses multiple powerful effects!
