Archmage Rises - Osiris
We are back with another patch! This one is lighter due to the hotfix earlier this week. We have several big issues being actively worked on for next week.

New:
  • Visit NPCs at Home To address not finding Quest NPCs, added in the ability to visit an NPC at home. You may only visit the homes of NPCs you know about. Later we will add robbing and kidnapping people in the dead of night, but for now, be nice and friendly and introduce yourself.
  • Added several new console commands to abandon quests - To ease potential future problems, you can use console commands to abandon a quest. You can reacquire them without penalty.
    • The console can be opened with the backtick/tilda ` key.
    • Get a list of active quest titles with this command: Quests.ListCurrentQuests
    • Abandon a quest by name: Quests.RemoveActiveQuestByName

Fixed:
  • Mehsyga reported Tower portals from one game carrying over to another. Fixed.
  • eastpaladin reported two hard to see UI elements, increased contrast
  • Rahl requested to see the inventory slots for an animal before purchase. Added this AND doubled the number of slots per animal (in new animals, not existing ones)
  • joiss90 reported Stinky debuff is not removed via Dispel spell cast outside of combat. The fix is rather involved, so for now we dropped the effect from 50% to 10%

Known Issues:
  • If you know a very large number of people in a town, the houses menu can cut off. We have some UI elements to work out but figured it is better than not putting in the feature today.
  • Bodies of water and roads still overlap. We are actively fixing this and expect it to be solved next patch.
  • Dungeon lever generation picking the wrong side of doors. This is also a top priority we have been looking into.
  • Several quests still need some cleanup on clarity or poor directions.

Broken Roads - Shoegazer
It’s the end of August and that means Gamescom again! We sent a small crew to Cologne to show off Broken Roads to European press as part of the Australian contingent in IGEA’s booth and were very stoked to see Broken Roads’ key art blown up huge on the stand walls.

We demo’d Broken Roads for three days straight, met a ton of fellow developers working on some awesome projects, took a quick look at what the AAA studios are up to, and of course checked out the most intriguing new indie games in the works.

One of the highlights of this year’s event was showing off the localised build to European journalists and getting their take on the quality of the translations - and we’re very happy to say feedback was extremely positive. Broken Roads will launch in numerous languages - English, French, German, Russian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (LatAm) - and seeing people enjoy the game in their own languages was great.

Gamescom is that strange mix of fun and exhausting, where you can’t wait for it to start and then you find yourself really relieved once it’s all over. We had a blast, but now it’s back to work on the last few months before launch!

(Above) The line for wishlisting Broken Roads was longer than ever this year.

A big thanks to all the journalists who have been covering Broken Roads. We’ve already seen a few articles start to drop:

Gamereactor: Broken Roads (Gamescom 2023) - In videogames, as in life, not everything is black and white (English)
Xboxygen: On a joué à Broken Roads à la Gamescom : nos impressions ! (French)
Konsolowe: Gamescom 2023: Graliśmy w mnóstwo indyków (Polish)
Starbit: Gamescom 2023 – Broken Roads (Portuguese)

It was also great to showcase a new build of Broken Roads next to our good friend at Catchweight Studio (wishlist CONSCRIPT on Steam here).

And that’s a wrap for gamescom 2023! Only one more event for us (PAX Australia, from 6-8 October!) before Broken Roads’ launch later this year!

Dream Fire - GeoWorld Tube
After 3 years of intense work by myself, without any sponsorship, I finally managed to make this game public!
Dream Fire is an open world game in which you have all kinds of interesting tasks and you can make the most of this experience. Thus being able to lead a life of survival in the forest where you hunt, cut trees, etc. or to lead a life in an educated civilization where you have friends, your own car, pet, job or why not, both!

Unfortunately, it is currently in the Alpha state, because there are still some bugs and the multiplayer is not yet implemented

I'm waiting for you on Dream Fire!

Castle Constructor - Sisyphean Games
A second patch to take care of a couple more reported issues.

Changes:
  • If the keep is at capacity the Royal Guards tech will now replace existing units with the new royal guards rather than just losing the effect.
  • Increased the update rate of the targetting indicator when aiming a volley, ballista, catapult, etc.
  • Made some minor adjustments to refreshing the purchase options in endless mode. It should no longer replace any of the options with the same item it was already set to.
Fixes:
  • The workshop and armory blocks now correctly show up in endless.
  • Fixed an issue that could result in a siege ladder/tower spawning without soldiers on them.
  • Fixed an issue where enemy ranged units would not continue moving for the keep after killing all units in range.
  • Fixed an issue with the keep trying to send reinforcements to blocks that were already at capacity.
  • Fixed the siege ladder/tower not playing the ramp drop sound effect when connecting to a block.
  • Adjusted the code so that endless mode always uses the main save file. Previously if the demo campaign was opened and then the player returned to the main menu going to endless would use the demo save file data instead.
  • Fixed an issue with the reinforce button in creative mode which prevented it from actually reinforcing any of the blocks.
  • Fixed an issue where the armory block was giving an incorrect health modifier to armor when it had the adjacent workshop bonus.
  • Fixed the armory not properly updating the highlight color when the cursor was over the block.
  • Fixed an issue with the reinforce card not working properly on blocks.
  • Fixed the reinforce card info not stating that it can be played on a barracks or archery range to make them spawn soldiers.
  • Fixed an issue where the level images in the endless level selection would be off center when returning from a level.
  • Fixed an issue where the wave horn pulse effect would remain visible when quitting out while it was up and then loading back into a level.
  • Made additional adjustments to code to try and make sure keep defenders always spawn with the correct armor instead of spawning without armor.
  • Fixed the flag in the tutorial level not being the same rotation as the flag pole.
  • Fixed an issue where the deck building panel was not scaling properly for different aspect ratios.
  • Fixed a minor issue with alerts playing the alert sound twice if an alert was added both at the start of the end of a wave and the start of the build phase.
Infinite Mana - Hyd
Bugfixes and changes ahoy!

  • Fixed achievements not popping when switching to the full version of the game. If you have unearned achievements, visit the Overworld and they should pop.
  • Fixed some NPC dialogue discrepancies.
  • Fixed some collectible text (Ovamagi, Books, etc.).
  • Updated the font for the Guise menu.
  • Changed the "shiny" color for Ovamagi collectibles (was yellow, now blue).
  • Added hints for Book collectibles.
  • Added a prompt before stealing in places where there was no prompt.
  • Added the Pettable Creatures cat back to Lyset Barrens. Welcome back, little fella!
  • Tamer - The Guise has been updated to have more early game viability. While it works best near the end-game, it's not very fun to get a new Guise and not have many skills. It now has acces to a more diverse kit that should make it a good fit for any party.
  • (Added) Feed Bag - The Tamer reaches into their feed bag and gives a bite to eat to their allies to heal their HP.
  • (Updated) Call Shoop - The Tamer calls upon the shoop to lull their enemies to Sleep for 3 turns.
  • (Updated) Call Shreeks - The Tamer calls upon the shreeks to screech a fascinating song that Charms an enemy for 3 turns.
