Here we are, marking four incredible years of Death Crown. As time has swiftly passed by, what remains constant is the strength and spirit of this community. I'm genuinely humbled by your dedication to our game.
A sincere thank you to each of you. Your journey with Death Crown truly matters to us.
Let's touch upon what's been happening:
We might not have rolled out significant events or changes this year, but we've been diligently focused on making the game resonate with a broader audience. So, to all our Ukrainian, Serbian, Brazilian, Argentinian, and Portuguese warriors — Death Crown now speaks your language. We hope this small addition makes your gameplay just a touch more comfortable.
Ah, reminiscing about the past... Last year brought us face-to-face with that diabolical red fridge. And while I won’t spill all our secrets just now, keep a watchful eye on the horizon. The winds of change carry whispers of new tales, echoing familiar chants yet heralding unfamiliar adventures. Do you hear it?
Hold onto your crowns, warriors. The realm of Death Crown is vast and ever-evolving. The shadows ahead might be holding secrets, just waiting for the right moment to reveal themselves.
This is a small update that fixes some minor bugs and issues. I forgot to update the version number on the title screen, so it still says v1.2.2, but that's fine honestly since this is such a small patch. You may even consider this to be v1.2.2.1, if you feel so numerically inclined. Either way, I'll have another patch out soon that will fix the version number on the title screen; I didn't realize this until I already published on steam. So it goes. Full patch notes below:
Fix mines not sticking properly to walls; now they will properly stick to any solid surface you throw them on to
Improve slugger enemy for more consistent behavior
Improve enemy knockback behavior when hit by bullets to prevent unwanted behavior
Slight improvements to bullet collision code
Fix player collision check bug with doors and destructable terrain: you will no longer get stuck in corners when doors or destructable terrain is to your left and you jump
Improvements to NPC collision fallback code
Fix player being able to sometimes shoot through doors

First, an apology. We’ve been lousy about our updates. We’re a small team and our chief goal is to get you Political Arena ASAP so you start enjoying this game. The long hours are paying off: We're excited to announce that we’re beginning beta testing!
Earlier today we shared the first preview of Political Arena with our several hundred beta testers. It's a brief preview, as our goal is to get some initial feedback on the game’s scope, tone and direction and to better organize our feature roadmap. The feedback thus far has been amazing. Not only are our testers jazzed by what they're seeing -- and clearly they share our vision of what the game can be --but they're offering really constructive feedback and Political Arena will be much better for it.
We took a real body blow last year when two developers left our production partner for new opportunities. However we reorganized and are making better time than ever. We’re even growing: We recently welcomed Danny Aguilar, a talented UI/UX artist and designer, to the Political Arena team. Danny is tasked with making Political Arena real and fun. You could say he’s, well … you could say he’s putting the, um … sauce back in sausage making?
…sorry.
As always, we want to encourage you to join our Discord. These updates require more forethought and planning, and therefore cannot be as frequent while we are in go-go-go development mode. But Discord is casual enough to allow me to pop in and chat about Political Arena’s development and what my dog is up to. With a robust community of over 500 members, our Discord server is a great place to learn more about the game and chat politics.

We are happy to announce that we just released a new build without the online features that were causing the game to fail to load for our players in China.
This build is available now, and will be the default version automatically for all players in China. For those that have already purchased the game, you only have to restart Steam, then update the game! You should see 0.2.1.92.9nt at the bottom right of the title screen.
Currently, this build is only available for Windows. We will have an additional build later this week for Linux/Steam Deck.
Thank you again for supporting WrestleQuest, and we hope to hear your thoughts on it now that you can actually experience it!
