It’s Gamescom times, but we unfortunately aren’t attending this year. Instead we're staying at home working hard on the game in preparation for the exciting things ahead! We’ll share some news on that with you down below, but first a little update on some of the things we’ve been working on this month:

Conjures are back!

We’ve been working on making the conjures (summons) work properly, and added a conjure skill to every class! Conjured beasts are not only helpful in fights to draw aggro and do damage, they can also be ridden. Any passive skill that requires riding will work both when using a conjure and when riding another player.


Scaptor conjure. We’re still working on a proper look for them, so that’s going to change soon as well!

Health drop changes

Also, we’ve experimented with a small change to the health orbs - now they lie on the ground and need to be picked up, instead of automatically being picked up. We wanted to try this change to give you more control over when you want to use that heal, and also add in the co-op trouble of choosing who should get the health boost. 😉

New enemy type (kind of)

Some of you may recognize this enemy as the old “demo boss”, now that the “new boss” has more of the right thematic feel (electric) the “old” one has gotten a behavior remake and is now a tougher variant that can shield itself from your attacks.


The "Head-plated" Roker enemy. Name still work in progress, we'll see if we can come up with something better soon!

Finally, we’ve been working on polishing up a couple of new areas, writing, adding quests, and preparing a new build we call “Alpha Act 1”. This version will soon be available to download and playtest early for our discord members and on the playtesting platform G.Round! We’ll provide you with more info on our discord soon, hope you are excited and eager to help us test this new version!

- Font size slider in settings (works, but is first pass and labelled 'experimental')
- Aspect mouseover now works as everyone expected it to ('pulse cards with this aspect') instead of the previous logiconfusing approach ('pulse cards with this aspect at this level')
- Sound effects for pause/unpause
- Village houses update after Unsociable Hours end, without you needing to put a card in them.
- Tantras are now correctly categorised as scrolls.
- Nocturnary now accepts Devices (in existing saves, you might need to run a recipe through it before you see the slot change.)
- Added absent requirements to Solar and Nocturnal workbenches.
- Fixed a weird early softlock where you could send the Fisherman back to the village by mistake.
- Fixed annoying habit of windows of opening mostly-offscreen on load
- Baronial and Curia era uncatalogued books swapped to correct colours. Sorry for any alarm this may cause.
- Daymare wants Knock, not Winter, to deal with the Endless Guest.
- Mommets are slightly more useful.
- Now that we've seen just how many items some Librarians leave outside the house, it stretches across the bridge rather than clumping in antigravity mode
- Bridge button glow doesn't stick on mouseover
- The Poet and the Nun can make use of additional exaltation items.
- You can no longer bind a key to two commands! (if you try, it'll swap the commands)
- ESC exits keybinds
- Commands can now be bound to exotic mouse buttons (let us know if your high-end mouse / accessibility-focused device still has unbindable buttons, we'll do what we can)
- Moved a couple of troublesome starting items to where they're less troublesome
- Added another row to card trays for people who've really gone wide on skills (more QoL to come, here)
- Mirrors in the Hall of Division now correctly allow Knock aspect. (If that's not working for you, run any recipe through the workstation, it'll refresh and catch up with itself)
- Fixed a couple of teeny but significant ending glitches
- Another raft of typos and text tweaks

1. New Intensive Character; Deacon


The wildest beast in the ring is now here! Meet the underground champion; Deacon!
Let’s check what kind of intensive skills he got!

[Diving Catch]


Dive toward a loose ball before your opponent gets to it. Nobody can stop him on the ground! Push off the opponent and get the ball!

[Post Up fake]


Switch direction when performing a Post Up drive. Push away the opponent without mercy and make your useful space to break through the guard!

[Tip In]


Tip the ball back in after a missed shot bounces off the rim. Utilize his strong body to catch the ball and hit the rim!

2. FS Academy Renewal

3. Battle Pass Improvement

Cool off the summer heat vibe with Battle Pass 2023 part2!
Battle Pass comes out with a bunch of rewards! Let’s check out the improvement!

1) Battle Pass Level Extension


-Battle Level is extended from Lv.25 to Lv.55
-You can receive main Battle Pass rewards by reaching Lv.25 and get extra rewards for everyone level until reaching Lv.55

2) Receive All Function



-[Receive All] function is now added to Battle Pass. Receive your reward at once!
-When you receive all rewards, some of the rewards will be sent to your mailbox (Temporary Ticket, Selectable Card Pack, Random Card Pack, etc.)

3) Minor Change
-After the Battle Pass season is over, the remaining rewards will be sent to your mailbox
-Battle Pass themed loading image is added during loading time

4. Lobby UI Improvement


-[Battle Pass] menu is added to lobby UI. Access the Battle Pass page more easily!



-Level up reward tab is added to management. When there is a receivable reward, present notice will be shown right next to [MANAGEMNT]
-[Steam] Lobby chat is removed

Rune Gate - Devwind
Change List:
1. Summoned Followers can now act immediately after your current character;
2. Tuned down some damage multiplying runes at the high end a little bit, right now they are a bit... insane.
3. Moved some strong Moves to Tier 3+ Weapons since they are too powerful for Stage 1

Additional fixes: fixed the issue where sometimes you would stuck when the run ends, sorry for not realizing this sooner, it doesn't produce any logs when the screen stuck so it came to my attention way too late.
Netherguild - David [Netherguild Dev]


Hey Guild Leaders!

These last two weeks I've been working on adding temporary allies to Netherguild:

What are temporary allies?
  • Non-player character units that follow you around and fight with you on this floor
  • You (the player) control their actions
  • These units don't heal in bonfires
  • These units don't return to the overworld or descend in the elevator

The idea is that these may be a rare and optional way of helping players advance through the City of Mist and some later areas. Not as a "must have" for progression but as a possible boost.

Temporary allies can be gained from two new oddities -




As well as a rare chance event to an existing oddity...



I've also been working on some of the future classes - here's a couple of animations!




What's Next?
Quality of Life and New Areas
-One week
I want to spend a week playing the game, adding quality of life stuff and working on new areas!
Quality of life stuff should help for the upcoming new players who might buy the game during the upcoming Steam Strategy fest! and I just want to get more progress on the new stuff before improving the City of Mist further.

The Royal City
-Two to three weeks
Will improve the City of Mist with more details, special rooms and oddities.

All these while secretly working on new areas and classes behind the scenes... before a big update in a few months!!!
