Episode 1 - "Taking off"

Call of Duty® - csmedley
Task Force 141’s rules of engagement changed to fight the ultimate threat, and it’s time to adapt or die.

Welcome to Operation 627, the first mission of the Modern Warfare® III Campaign:

Developed by Sledgehammer Games in partnership with Infinity Ward, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Campaign is the direct sequel to the events of Modern Warfare II.

As mentioned in the full game’s Announcement, this Campaign features a seamless integration of missions built around Call of Duty’s signature, cinematic moments that have defined two decades of the franchise’s action-packed, narrative-driven, single-player experiences, and brand-new Open Combat Missions designed to give the player freedom to approach the action in a variety of different ways.

The full Campaign, of course, is available up to one week prior to the game’s official launch on November 10, and is available through Campaign Early Access, included in all digital pre-order editions of Modern Warfare III (*1).  One week based on estimated access; actual play time subject to possible outages and applicable time zone differences.

Prepare for uneasy alliances and unfinished business: To save a world on the brink of war, the time has come to confront your past:

Operation 627, A Breakdown

As revealed earlier today, the first mission in the Modern Warfare III Campaign is “Operation 627,” a traditional cinematic experience that introduces the next chapter of the Modern Warfare universe.

In this prelude, an elite PMC fireteam – “Alpha Team” – invades a stone fortress in an area that Call of Duty veterans know all too well: Verdansk.

While familiar, Verdansk will be seen from a new perspective in Modern Warfare III’s Campaign: in the year 2023, a new threat completely locked down this capital of Kastovia.

Those who watched the Modern Warfare III’s Worldwide Reveal Trailer and the Makarov Reveal Trailer might recognize momentary flashes of this mission – now it’s time to dive deeper into “Operation 627”:

On October 13, 2023, at 0200 hours (2 AM) local time, Alpha Team successfully infiltrates the Zordaya Prison Complex via amphibious tactics, using water suits, oxygen tanks, and diver propulsion vehicles to reach the complex’s base.

After ascending the battlements’ slope, the team follows the mission’s optimal plans, using suppressed weapons, night-vision goggles (NVGs), and stealth tactics to move along the wallwalk until they find a breach in its western section.

Alongside parachuting reinforcements, Alpha Team moves into position down off the battlements and onto the courtyard level, confirming visual on an HVT entering a prisoner transfer helicopter… But it’s not “our guy.”

Because “our guy” is deeper in the complex, Alpha Team calls in a distraction play, using an explosive outside the facility to get the first strike from behind on enemy forces.

Quickly losing its low profile, Alpha Team uses a smokescreen for cover before finding a hatch in the courtyard, which they then use to descend further into the complex via its intricate tunnel network.

Fortunately, they land right near the heart of the panopticon, the gulag’s proper prison with a central security observatory tower, which Alpha Team sees moments before they radio in for total darkness.

With only muzzle flashes, lasers, and their NVGs as their only sources for light, Alpha Team methodically rappels down the interior spine of the prison, instigating a successful prison riot by downing several prison guards who desperately try to re-establish order.

The cell gates unlock, and the inmates barge out and into the curved corridors, intent on revenge, as klaxons blare and confusion reigns. Alpha Team eventually reaches the prison’s lowest level.

As locked inmates cheer and clank their cell bars in support, Alpha Team eliminates several more guards and reaches the sub-level to “get our guy.” A sealed interior door is breached with explosives…

And the rest… Well, you’ll have to wait until Campaign Early Access (*1) for that part of the story.

Tomorrow’s Intel Drop: Open Combat Missions

In addition to “Operation 627” and other cinematic missions, Modern Warfare III’s Campaign seamlessly integrates more freeform single-player experiences into the mission structure. These are known as Open Combat Missions. Expect a detailed overview of this innovation here on the Call of Duty Blog, tomorrow on August 23.

Swarmcade - Artemus
Coming in the next update is a much requested feature: the option to see the Ultimate combination weapons/items when discovered!

How it will work: An new tab has been added to the menu. This can be viewed at any time during a run. Here's a sneak peek:

At first, you'll just see ??? + ???. When you discover an Ultimate combo, this will fill in the weapon/items needed. Forever. No more confusion about what just activated what!

For players that have already unlocked some combos, on start up existing achievements will be checked, this should track existing combos and update, but this will require some further testing.
Corrupted: Dawn of Havoc - pingu6615
Hello Commanders!

The permanent growth factor that many commanders have requested has finally been updated. Along with various balance changes, we have begun to take steps towards a great game, so please read the update notes with high expectations!

Permanent Growth Factors

1. Research

Strengthen your team using Zeronium in the ‘Research’ tab in the menu! You can earn Zeronium in proportion to your score after the game ends. Various other researches are planned to be updated!

2. Traits

Traits are special abilities that can be equipped three at a time for each member. Customize your members according to your strategy through various trait combinations! Traits can be obtained by achieving achievements. About 10 types of traits are planned to be updated for each character.

3. Achievements

The achievement system has been added. Achievements consist of rewards that greatly assist in permanent growth, such as Zeronium for research, traits, lieutenants, etc. Play more enjoyably by challenging various plays and acquiring these rewards!

4. Lieutenants

Lieutenants have been introduced to Corrupted, who will help you progress in the game. Lieutenants provide rewards at the starting stage and have unique abilities. They can be obtained through achievements and events.

Combat System Improvements

1. Armor / Break System

Previously, only skills with the ‘stun’ effect could block skills. There was fun in stunning at the right timing, but the value of the stun was too high, making it difficult to try various concepts. Therefore, we created a ‘defense break’ system, where the enemy is stunned and takes increased damage when dealt a certain amount of damage. Now you can flexibly choose whether to focus damage to break defense or to use a stun skill to block the skill.

2. Morale Effect Change and Trauma System

The original morale was an element we wanted to create a need to manage the team through continuous damage accumulation. However, contrary to our intentions, it brought too much snowball in a single battle.

[Changes]

Addition of sectional morale levels

Positive (100~75%): Random ally positive effect acquisition
Disturbed (74~50%): Random ally 1st level trauma acquisition
Anxious (29~25%): Random ally 2nd level trauma acquisition
Corruption (24%~0%): Random ally 3rd level trauma acquisition
Morale application time change
Morale effects apply at the start of the next battle. Even if morale drops, there is now room to respond, such as using recovery items or modifying the deployment.

Camp Card Enhancement & Removal UX Improvement

The much-requested 'card enhancement preview' has been added. Now, you can carefully choose to enhance cards after viewing the enhancement effects!

Shop New Update

Finally, the Cosmic Shop and Midas combination have arrived in Corrupted! In the ‘Shop Protocol’ stage, you can use the ‘credits’ earned during the game to buy cards, plugins, equipment, and various other items.

New Consumables and Exism
Exism
The basic exorcism granted to the card will now be removed, leaving only the exism slot. Instead, you can use the ‘exism’ item acquired during the game for free custom effects that fit the situation.

Morale Recovery Agent
Has your morale dropped and the camp is not appearing? You can now use ‘Morale Recovery Agent’ to instantly recover morale.

Resurrection Item
If you are worried about the risk of a member dying during stage progression, try using an Automatic Defibrillator (modified), Revival Beacon. The automatic defibrillator has been changed from a type used before battle to a type that is used automatically when a member dies.
※ Various other consumables have been added, so check them out in the demo!

Balance Changes
1. Entering the next stage no longer fully recovers all health.
The damage taken in the previous stage accumulates, and only minimal health recovery is provided.

2. The effect of skill-blocking used against an enemy trying to use a skill has been weakened.
- SP 50% return => SP 80% return

3. The recovery effects used by enemies have been reduced.

4. The damage of SP skills has been universally decreased.
- Show off the commander's abilities through deck construction.

6. You can no longer freely unequip the equipped gear.
- Touch and Move! Consider the timing of equipping your gear more carefully.
- However, you can unequip it using a new consumable item called Equipment Removal Kit.

Every single one of your comments, suggestions, and feedback is all being considered thoroughly as we continue our development for the full release.

BECROWNED - ParadizzZ
Hello, friends!
The development of the survival horror game "Becrowned" is in full swing, and we are working on a variety of mechanics, details, and game content. We are preparing a game demo and a big trailer. Currently, almost half of the game is already completed.

Now, let me tell you more about what we are currently working on.

Combat System
A significant amount of time is being spent on refining the combat system, as we strive for a high level of quality. The game will feature both melee and ranged combat, as well as a variety of weapons and enemies. We are also working on a detailed damage system, with plenty of blood and limb dismemberment.

New Main Character Model and Animations
We are nearly finished creating a new model for the main character and fine-tuning the animations. He will look just like on the key art/banner of the game. Hooray!

Level Design and Game Detailing
We have put in a lot of work to greatly enhance the first third of the game. We have revamped the intro, almost all the locations, rendering, and post-effects. We have also added a weather system for certain locations. Currently, we are focusing on detailing the rest of the game.

Lore, Story, and Content
We are enriching the game with a plethora of narrative-visual details, puzzles, and mechanics.

In-Game Cameras
To enhance immersion and create atmosphere, we have made improvements to the in-game camera systems.

Steam Deck and Controller Support
We have added full support for the Steam Deck and controllers, and the game already plays great on them. Currently, we are fine-tuning the control options, as right now, only tank controls are available, but we will be adding directional controls.

Music and Sound
Music and sound are crucial parts of the game. During the planning stages, we carefully chose a suitable style for the sound design. Currently, our focus is on ensuring that the music and sound fully complement the visuals.

Thank you all so much for your feedback, ideas, and support. It's incredibly cool and very motivating.
