Hello guys! I’m well aware of the issues the game has at the moment and I’d like to thank you all for the reviews because that will determine how i will end up making better games for everyone and improve in quality.
As for the current status of the mess I’ve made (which is this game and the fact that the project file is gone) I’ve recreated the game in a new.. VHS style look suitable for any that prefer that kind of thing and luckily i do have footage of the new update (keep in mind in the video it’s called secret backrooms 2023 edition and not update since it was meant to be a remastered version of the game.)
Currently i have made some progress in the game but just to make sure things go well the game will be tested on steam which means going back to early access
I am considering discontinuing sales. After 6 years of development, it is no longer possible to continue development. I am very sorry to all of you who have purchased.
Major reasons why development could not continue
1. Not getting the required inspiration
As those who have played the game from the beginning know, it is becoming increasingly difficult to create appealing works. This is because the flexible ideas necessary for design are no longer possible. Even if I continue to develop it further, I will not be able to create a style that outperforms other competing games. It will take many more years to complete, and even if it does, it doesn't make sense if players can't enjoy it.
2. Impossibility of completion
I overcomplicated the basic concept, which made adding content such as vehicles a lot of work. It will take many more years to have the content necessary to complete the game. Also, the design of the program is wrong, and it is expected that it will eventually fail before it is completed.
3. Already a de facto huge deficit
It must be said that the profit gained is small, and the I have invested a huge amount of time and effort into game development, which has already resulted in a huge deficit. It has not been established as a business at all, and it cannot be continued any more from a management point of view.
Experimenting the functionality of using short phrases in game. The phrases are divided into 3 types: Opening, In-game, and Ending. Each type has 5 options. Press Shift + 1 (2, 3, 4 or 5) to activate the phrase.
Build mode now has a new section for construction items, as well as new dome sizes to choose from in the terrain editor! There is also a fix to the screenshot issue, which will hopefully fix the uploading issue as the screenshot file size was to big. You'll notice in the new update that there are black borders around the screenshot, this is to reduce the file size of the screenshot all-together. With how the screen capture is setup, there wasn't much alternative, but should still suffice for now.

It's been a while but we're back with exciting updates on Mahika : Prologue!
First off, we got sidelined for a bit, but now back on track! However, we had to move Mahika’s release date for next year.
All is good now as we’re starting to gain momentum again as we finished one important feature of the game ~ Procedural Level Generation!
It was a fiddly task as we had to experiment with a couple of procedural patterns and redrawing the dungeon walls. In the end, it looks awesome!
Dungeon levels are not much at this stage as we still work on procedural content generation. But expect a livelier update in the coming weeks once we chuck in the decorations, treasures, breakable items, and enemies!
