We wanted to get your thoughts on what features we should work on next! What would you want to see added to the game? Please read the brief descriptions on the features and their functionality below and cast your vote by following the provided poll link at the bottom!
Officer Follow Command This feature is a new Command for officers to ‘Follow’ you. You’re gonna go fish? They’ll fish with you and are able to use your bait! Going to craft? They’ll do the same by making decisions on what to craft and when by using any resources you provide. Want to go out of town? Bring some bodyguards! As a result, this means that just about every activity you do as a Merchant will be increased in efficiency by bringing an officer (or multiple officers) along!
Town Quartermasters This feature will add a Quartermaster and extra NPCs to towns which will allow you to more specifically work on your reputation with them and gain access to many new things! Think of Quartermasters from MMORPGs where higher reputation ranks unlock more special rewards! As you gain more reputation, these Quartermasters will provide extra materials, gear, crafting recipes unobtainable any other way which will have special stats and purposes, the ability to unlock new Adventures, and much more!
Merchant Exploration Sounds simple enough, right? But imagine there was a great reason to leave the safety of town! Collect rare materials to use for special interactions and bartering, run specially designed “obstacle courses” to win even greater rewards, find the hidden paths to special treasure, and climb, climb, climb! All while playing as the Merchant! Your rewards will vary vastly based on what you choose to do with your winnings!
Merchant Skills The Merchant is clearly very talented! With Merchant Skills, you would be able to track all of your capabilities (more than 20 skills!) and level them up accordingly, earning special rewards for each level, and each milestone. This would track and reward you for crafting at any of the crafting stations, gathering wood or other materials from any source, fishing, exploring, and just about everything else you can do! These skills will reward you with a new item we will add into the game which will allow you to grant experience to any hero in the realm, or even all heroes in the realm, allowing you to help under leveled heroes stay caught up with the herd, or catch your officers up after a death!
Please take all of this information into consideration, and vote on the poll! Select up to 2 options and let us know what you want to see next! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments of this post or on Discord/Twitter!
Up next for our character features is the best soldier Mother Nature has fighting for her–Major Disaster!
Concept Art
Taking inspiration from the original Toxic Crusaders cartoon, Major Disaster’s in-game design has taken on a similar appearance with a modern spin. Take a look at Major Disaster’s amazing concept art drawn by comic artist Steve Gregson:
And here's another concept art piece drawn by our Art Director, Xander Arnot:
Weapons of the Natural Kind!
We wanted to give Major Disaster the raw power of Mother Nature! Speaking of stomping power, players will notice that whenever Major Disaster runs, the ground will shake! (Screen Shake can be disabled in the Options menu)
Along with his innate strength, Major Disaster employs a host of natural weapons at his disposal! His dash attack features a tree branch armblade, while his back attack causes vines and more branches to sprout from behind!
Finally, for his special attack, Major Disaster can summon a group of large vines from underground for massive AOE damage! While this special attack is quite powerful, it should be noted that the Major is vulnerable in the animation frames after the vines go away, so be cautious!
In-Game Design
Even when he’s idle, Major Disaster’s pose is all the more intimidating to the Smogulan forces and their allies.
In addition, when it comes to jump attacks, one of the Major’s moves is a heavy kick-down, which can stun enemies for a follow-up combo attack!
With great power comes a slower speed. While Major Disaster is strong up close, he lacks speed when walking and running. Even with his Rad Mode active, the Major Disaster’s power greatly increases, but his speed is still miles below other characters.
Despite his slow movement speed, Major Disaster is both a vital and powerful member of the Toxic Crusaders! With Mother Nature at his command, nothing will stop the Major from dishing out destruction against the forces of Smogula!
We’re excited to share more information as we continue development!

Well, this week turned out to be quite something – we finally sent the build to be tested, meaning, we started testing it ourselves, and... Of course, the trap snapped shut. We did over 200 tasks that involved changes since the last update, and true to tradition, those changes broke many branches in the game.
So now we're all working on fixing those fresh bugs so that when the game is updated, it is exactly as we envision it.
Some of the most significant events of the past week were game releases . On the weekend, our team entertained themselves by creating characters and sharing their experiences in the new events. On our Twitter, you can already find all the best attempts to recreate our heroes in one of the games, as well as check out all the fashion trends reflected in the team's screenshots.
However, the gaming fever didn’t affect our animators – they continue to finish up animations while the rest of the team tries on splendid leather outfits. Kiara has learned some new magic, and the swamp guy can now move about briskly – you would have trouble telling that he died quite some time ago!
The weekend is coming, which means there's another work week ahead before the new meeting. Don't forget to drop by our Discord and other social networks.

This patch only contains a dozen or so bug fixes. After this patch we’re temporarily closing shop for the rest of Summer. Because of this we’ve postponed releasing new features as we didn’t want to risk introducing new issues during this break.
The next patch is scheduled for early September.
Bug Fixes: - Enemy campsites can not spawn too close to blocking terrain so when you camp at those sites you are not placed out of bounds. - Clans do not claim the same site multiple times. - When you try to fix a scrying stone a repair only gets marked as failed when you actually have failed the test. - The Envoy background unlocks correctly. - ‘Rare bushes’ should not spawn on tiles that are supposed to stay traversable. - Allied clans are no longer masquerading as mere friends in the menus and on the map info panels. - Removes references to obsolete deed ‘findMagicTreasure’. - Removes an incorrect ‘[next]’ tag from a Moobak rumor text. - You can only obtain one Pink Varo or Gildhair map for a given location. - Mining assets are placed at the correct distance from cave entrances. - Unlocking a legacy doesn’t relock other legacies allowing them to take effect again.
