A-1H Skyraider
Development Progress
We are thrilled to present the latest developments from Crosstail Studios' A-1H Skyraider module. Their dedicated team has been working tirelessly, achieving remarkable progress in multiple aspects to deliver an extraordinary aviation simulation experience centered around this iconic aircraft so loved by its pilots.
Flight Model Advancements: Significant progress has been made to achieve a high level of FM realism. The seamless integration of ground effect and ground handling during taxiing provide an authentic feel to takeoffs and landings, while support for differential braking and a parking brake enhances the ground handling capabilities, ensuring precise maneuvering on the runway.
With the newly initiated cockpit shaking effects, which accurately simulate engine vibrate and atmospheric turbulence, you can immerse yourself in the thrill of aviation making each flight a true adventure. The further refinement of drag calculations for the various control surfaces ensure a realistic aircraft responsiveness and authentic flight realism. All control surfaces simulation is nearing completion and the hydraulic system is being implemented. Engine management, fuel consumption simulation, and the implementation of the onboard oxygen system and all progressing well. Additionally, the groundwork for future autopilot features has been programmed and the AN/APN-22 radar altimeter is operational.
High Poly Cockpit Progress: The high poly cockpit is meticulously refined in every detail to create an unparalleled cockpit experience. The team of animators are also hard at work, adding lifelike animations to various cockpit elements, ensuring a truly immersive experience for every aviator. Furthermore, the skilled texturing artists are hard at work crafting intricate textures that will bring the A-1H Skyraider's cockpit to life, with every gauge and instrument being meticulously detailed. As a sneak peek into our progress, we are delighted to showcase rendered images of the cockpit, showcasing the incredible attention to detail.
Radar Weapon System Progress: The team has achieved significant milestones with the AN/APS-6 Radar Pod, specifically tailored for the A-1H Skyraider. The detailed architecture design guarantees a seamless integration of hardware components, signal processing algorithms, and data integration, creating an authentic recreation of this early radar system. The successful implementation of core signal processing algorithms enables good aircraft detection and tracking. Currently, our functional radar prototype is undergoing rigorous testing and calibration, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
Future Development Efforts: In addition to the very high attention to detail, the team are crafting lifelike animations and intricate textures that will breathe life into every gauge and instrument, providing an unparalleled cockpit experience. The team is dedicated to delivering a highly immersive and visually stunning environment that captures the essence of flying the iconic A-1H Skyraider.
Whether you're an air-to-air or air-to-ground enthusiast, this robust and versatile aircraft will undoubtedly become a favorite in your virtual hangar. Tram A classic tram is now available as a train style. It combines a train and one passenger carriage into a single unit, and supports all the customisation options available for the standard train.
Cab Toys This update adds a new section to the Scenery menu which gives you the choice between a whistle or a bell on your train.
Utility Poles Utility Poles are a new decoration class which automatically attach wires between each prop you place. To start with there are two styles: Telephone Pole and a large Electricity Pylon
New Decorations There's a wide variety of new decorations including 10 new houses, 3 new passengers, and several large buildings like a sports stadium and motel.
Train Highlighting Certain actions could get awkward when you had a lot of trains. Now when you look at a train (or its carriages) you'll see a little arrow appear on top of it. With a train highlighted, any train-related actions will automatically apply to that train such as:
Left Mouse click / Press T to drive it without opening the train menu
Style options in the Scenery menu
Adding carriages from the Toybox
Other changes:
Replaced the font used for Latin and Cyrillic languages
Tracks, Roads & Rivers now create unique crossings when they meet a variant of other type.
Added pop-ups with key reminders and tips when using certain decorations for the first time
Added the Hungarian language option back into the menu
Several UI and quality of life improvements
Fixed a crash on the tutorial when playing in Korean
Improved the game's start up time and memory usage
Optimised and reduced the size of the Sci-Fi DLC
Fixed an issue when F5 is pressed

Go to the Betas tab and choose the public_beta option from the Beta Participation dropdown menu (you don't need to enter a code)
Steam will start downloading a new update, and Tracks should have a [public_beta] tag in the games list
Today we're going to take a look at the two factions you'll encounter in the world of The Burst.
Let's begin!
Shelldogs
Religious barbarians, absolute nutjobs praying to their God-Wolf and whatnot. Really reverent about their ammo and weapons, treating them like religious artifacts. Could be one of the reasons why their arsenal actually works.
Through their fiery speeches and hallucinogenic entfant juice, Shelldogs recruit most of the able-bodied newcomers, allowing them to "wake up" and see the world for what it is. The weak, however, are shot on sight without a chance.

Surprisingly enough, The Shelldogs are a matriarchal society. Led by the Mega-Bitch (yes, that's a real title) and her five advisors, thousands of lower ranked males are being sent out to raid, pillage and kill in the name of their beloved leader.
Through sheer numbers and aggressive behavior, they have quickly become a force to be reckoned with.
Boomboys
The proud army of The States of Progress.
One of the biggest organizations on the planet founded by the former workers and engineers from the first wave of colonization. As a result, Boomboys have established The States of Progress, a capitalist technocratic government overseen by the Techpresident.
The Boomboys, unlike the Shelldogs, can be considered a neutral faction on the planet. Despite their intimidating appearance, they mostly resort to the use of force in self-defence. Mistaking them for your friends, however, can easily prove fatal.
Boomboy concept art.
The States of Progress at its core is largely made up of former colonists, while many of the lower class workers have been replaced by convicts who were lucky enough not to fall prey to other gangs.
Most members of The States of Progress are forced to work tirelessly in treacherous conditions with little rest just to have a chance at survival. As almost every worker suffers from severe chronic radiation poisoning, the only way to live is to be shortlisted for cryo-treatment.
As for the less fortunate folks, even on the verge of death from radiation, they are still given a chance to serve The States and perform perhaps the most heroic act of all.
Make sure you remember this well, agents. You never know when you might need this information. Still have questions? Send 'em over to our Discord or Steam Forums, whichever you prefer! Until next time!
