We thought we would share a little FAQ answering some frequently asked questions we hear around the community! ✨ These include game help, as well as info about the future of Wylde Flowers!

1. I've finished the main storyline - is there more content after Year 1?

Yes! You can continue changing the seasons as many times as you wish after the credits roll to continue farming, befriending the NPCs, and finishing your collections. There are also more quests, festivals, animals, and small storylines to experience in Year 2, so keep talking to the NPCs and see what quests they give!

2. Is there more content after Year 2?

While we don't have dedicated storylines and festivals for Year 3, you can continue playing as long as you like to wrap up any outstanding relationship building, collections, etc. There are also a few (but not all) quests that will pop up in Year 3 if you missed them previously.



3. Are there going to be any more content updates?

Yes, the team is working on more content updates as we speak! We don't have a timeline to offer at this time, but will be sure to keep you updated as we can! The updates will be similar to our first three in that they will introduce new gameplay features as well as some quests and short storylines.

4. Will "X" be coming to the game?

We can't confirm any specifics about what is coming with the new updates, but we are always looking at community suggestions and feedback to see what y'all would like to see! 🌸 We can't wait to show you what's coming when the time is right, but we have confirmed a few things which will not be coming to Wylde Flowers. These are:

  • Children
  • Decorating
  • Going inside villagers' homes
  • A full storyline of the same length as the original storyline
  • Milkwater


5. How do I get magical animals?

Please see this outstanding guide from a fellow community member on the Wylde Flowers subreddit all about magical animals!

6. How do I change the season after year 1?

Continue visiting the coven at night and you will eventually get a quest to give Tara her new role in the coven, The Keeper of the Wheel. You will then have to make offerings to Wellspring, which you can see by interacting with it. When all offerings are complete, you can use the proper incantation to turn the season just like in Year 1.



7. Can I transfer my saves between different platforms and/or crossplay?

Unfortunately, this is not possible.

8. I need more games like Wylde Flowers! Help!

Here is a post with lots of great recommendations! We also recommend the subreddit r/cozygamers for lots of cozy game discussion!



9. Where can I find Wool Weed?

Wool Weed is located in the second area of the Gloaming (near the entrance). The areas are unlocked through story progression. You will need to find the keystone in the first part of the Gloaming first, then talk to Lina and upgrade your wand. Once you have the second and/or third level unlocked, you will be able to choose which level of the Gloaming to enter when you interact with the pillar to enter the Gloaming.

10. Who is the best person to romance?

That is entirely up to your personal preference! You can use our wiki to get more info about the romance candidates. There is also some great discussion about this subject matter in this post, this post, and this post (from our subreddit!) ✨

When Night Comes - Ryan Workman
Hello Everyone! The next update to fix alot of issues is releasing this afternoon! Here is the patch notes!

Patch Notes:
-Fixed Lighting Issues in the Prologue level.

-Removed vent sections from the prologue, You can just open the door normally to get to the laundry room.
Developer note: This was done as the jumping for the vents was causing players to get stuck/ confused.


-Added a new scene before the nightmare level to better explain what needs to be done to escape.

-Fixed bug where the player can get soft-locked in a nightmare by jumping off the roof too early.

-Fixed bug where the box fall audio will keep triggering when a player was walking multiple times near the boxes.


-Increased Detection radius of statues on the altar.

-Added in placement areas for the status at the altar, Easier to get into place for progressing. Along with this it now shows the altar asking for three offerings.


-The darkness meter in the Nightmare level is not as intense. As time goes on the level should not get so dark as before. This was done as the previous levels made it hard to navigate the level.
Developer Note: I am watching these values closely and will update them if needed or Remove the fog completely.



-Updated Version number

-Added an important known issues tab to the main menu. This was done to let players know of Key issues that could affect the gameplay experience.

-Various small bugs and performance issues were fixed.

-Added in a easier way to know where the exit is once the statues are placed

Known issues I am still working to fix:

-When loading between levels the screen can go black to load. Working on adding a loading screen to combat this.

-The Text "A Way Out is Revealed" will flash nonstop once activated

-Sometimes when pressing "Q" to examine items, it will not examine. Remapping the Examine key back to "Q" in settings will resolve the issue.

-The pickup feature of the Statues is incorrectly labeled as "Examine" instead of "Pickup".

-The hidden achievement "This Carpet is Nice" is incorrectly awarded to all players at the start of the game. Have fun getting it easy!

-To drop a statue you must press "Q" to throw it, working on making this easier to place on the altar!

-To exit when reading a note, The player must press "E" then "Q".

-If the nightmare level is reloaded by the player dying or the player opening a save file, The timer and Fog progress is reset as well as the players inventory.

-Performance is a key part of the experience, I am also working on improving the game more with each update. The game should run better this time, but as such the loading between levels can cause performance issues. Please use the Settings tab to lower graphics for an improved FPS!

To the Future!

I am still working on various bugs, present from the first build of the game. Some of which have been harder to tackle! Looking forward, I have multiple planned updates to improve the game and its experience. This includes adding more Lore, Secrets, and Quality of Life updates. Also The lore/Notes in the game are intentionally blank, I am working on artwork for each so you dont have to press "E" to read it! I appreciate everyone playing the game! I understand the first build was annoying and caused some player frustration! I am deeply sorry! I worked hard to get this update out to improve the state of the game so players can play it! This list does not include all the changes to the game. I have not kept track of all the subtle changes but here are most of the ones that matter.

There has been major changes to core mechanics which will require a new character.

- Enemies at lower levels have much less life and the density of enemies in those areas have increased. All enemies have had all their stats revamped.
- Almost every skill has been refactored and many buffs have been changed to be more "active" buffs meaning they require you to do something not completely passive.
- Weapon and armor affixes have been completely revamped. There are now 15+ new affixes you can find on weapons and armor.
- Fixed Demonic Orb not working.
- Fixed other spells not functioning correctly.
- Fixed treasure chests.
- Added more enemy camps.
- New boss added with new mechanics.
- Lots new artifacts added with the new affixes. These can be found on all enemies but bosses have a higher chance to drop
- Updated crafting rewards to be more meaningful
- Updated quest rewards to be more meaningful
- Mob spawns now will have randomly spawning enemies instead of knowing exactly what will spawn where
- Fixed a few stats not saving correctly
- Many many more bug fixes.
Airborne Empire - Ben Wander
Hey gang, we've had so many visual updates to the game this week, let's just share a bunch of pretty stuff!

BJ is working on our next biome lookset. Zach is experimenting with how to combine BJ's land pieces into a cool level, and in the meantime BJ's making new resource assets for the area. Here's a quick preview:



Amanda's creating the look for our ground enemies. Here's her grayscale kit and an example of how an enemy outpost might be put together:




She also created a first pass of the Charcoal Hut, on which Fred has since made a comment that I can't unsee. We'll see if it gets less (or more!) like cartoon characters with the next pass:



She also tweaked the colors in our new UI, so that it blends better with the game. You'll probably see many UI updates in future as I take a pass on designing each screen, and maybe updating some iconography and placement too:



I created some damage states this week, including wispy smoke and some shader tweaks to make the building tops look crispy when destroyed:



I also created a new puffy smoke effect for exhaust on the Town Center, which looks more inline with our volumetric clouds and explosions.



It even takes proper shadows, so at different angles and Time of Days it still looks good :)



We won't always have such a visual week, but I figured pictures are always better than words (and also Philomena from Stray Fawn told me that pictures are always better than words ;) so here's a dump o' stuff!

Is this better than a regular devlog? Would you like to see a weekly devlog like this, or more of a long-form written update like I've done in the past?
