Dear players,

Thank you for your feedback. The main contents of this update are as follows:

1. After locking onto a target, the system will now automatically lock onto the next target after the current target dies.
2. Fixed some incorrect skill text and icon issues.
3. Increased the attack range of most sword skills.
4. Nerfed most of the Blade Giant's skills. Now, the Blade Giant's multi-hit combos will no longer continuously chase the player, and the strongest combo now has a 34-frame startup delay. Also, added special effects prompts for powerful skills.

Note: To ensure the best gaming experience, please make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the game.

August Update - week #1

Slime? Climb?:

• Updated all the block display sprites to show new blocks. (will change in next game update upload)
  
• Started to conceptualise assist blocks, to help slimes to ascend quicker.

Now the simple task of adding them to the game, what could possibly go wrong. ːsteamfacepalmː

Retroa Retroa Builda:

• Repaired the control mechanics, it seems I'd somehow broken them a little. (added last update)
  
• Started 2 more level design ideas.

Before presenting this video, we would like to apologize once again regarding the change in schedule of the Beta.
As we postponed the Beta to make a better stable environment, we are moving from a Closed Beta to an Open Beta to allow anyone who wants to participate.

In this Dev Talk Ep.2, we've prepared an AMA (Ask Me Anything) where Producer Beomjun Lee and Director Minseok Joo answer questions left by Descendants in the Discord Channel.

You'll be able to catch an early glimpse of how The First Descendant has changed since the last Steam Beta.
And you can get various game-related information that our Descendants have been curious about, so please check it out.

■ Crossplay Open Beta Rewards
Various rewards will be provided to those who have participated in this test.
Also, a Backpack Decoration Item for players who have reached level 20 will be selected through a vote on Discord.
You can find more information below, and further details will be given through a separate notice before the test.

(1) Pre-Registered Participants
- Those who pre-registered through the official homepage will be provided Trial Vouchers to try out the 3 Full Body Skins for the first 3 basic Descendants during the Crossplay Open Beta period.

(2) Crossplay Open Beta Participants
- All participants in the test will receive a Limited Edition Emote upon launch

(3) Reaching Descendant Level 20

- Those who reach Descendant Level 20 will be given a Backpack Decoration Item upon launch. The item will be selected from the three options (Fish Tank, Teddy Bear, Wind Up Hamster) through a vote.
- The vote is open for two weeks from August 4 (Fri) to August 18 (Fri) on the Discord dev-note channel.

We are also preparing various in-game events to be held during the test
so we hope our Descendants will join us and enjoy the Beta.

Another weekend — another upgrade special! It’s time to upgrade your cabins — the base of any armoured car. Be sure to stock up on different upgraded cabins for every possible situation!


Please, pay attention that not all parts participate in these summer upgrades specials:

• For the “upgrade removal” specials you can not use those that are part of the “Road to Singularity” season and “Foxy’s secrets” event (either new parts or those produced on the workbench of the season / event).
  
• In all the “upgrade” specials you can’t use parts that are included in reward scales of: “Road to Singularity” season, “Polar lights” season and “Foxy’s secrets” event. Parts that are present on workbenches of both “Road to Singularity” season and “Foxy’s secrets” events also do not participate in these specials.

My name is Patrik, and I am a marketing specialist for Ylands since March. I am chilling with Nikki and Anna in our new office, and you might remember me from our spring stream with Anna.

As of today, I've spent almost 50 hours in Ylands Adventure mode, and I wanted to share with you the 5 things I wish I knew before I started playing.

The first 10 hour of my gameplay? Well, those pretty much resembled DayZ. Trying to lure wolfs away from my loot box so I can quickly grab my stuff and ride away on my horse Rockyta. Why? Cause I thought it is a brilliant idea to skip Arid and sail to the Far East right away. I've never been so wrong.

It's an understatement to say that I am a poor builder. Yet, once I discovered and understood Blueprints, the game instantly became 10 times more enjoyable for me and I started grinding resources to have some fancy ship to cruise the seas and to live in. Also, Blueprint workstation should be placed on land. Not in the water. Yes, even if you are building a ship. On the bright side, I drowned only twice. Or was it just a bad dream? 🤔

After I mined all the iron and cut down all the trees for the much needed first epic ship Blueprint, I felt ashamed. The look of the devastated land was simply, well, devastating. I felt like I destroyed the home of every living creature and that I need to be punished. Luckily, with a hit of a button, nature was nourishing once more, all the pain and devastation was gone, and all the resources were up for grabs again!



btw. I didn't discover this tip on my own but thanks to 0utsiDer2522 and his cool giveaway video. The concept of which, as you might notice, I also kinda totally ripped off for this diary. Thanks Outsider!

I have spent almost 20 hours grinding the resources for a Blueprint I chose. Traveling to other regions to get access to the other ores and resources. All that just to figure out that the Blueprint I am building needs recipes that I do not own. Sadly, the ship is still left unfinished. Well, Random Encounters, here I come!

Oh! I almost forgot about this one, more sails = higher speed of the ship (not infinitely ofc). The hours I spent on a primitive ship sailing 1 knot per 6 days were excruciatingly long.
