Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865) - Zipuli
Whiskey & Lemons DLC to be Released on 25th of August!
Gen’l,
We're happy to announce, that the DLC to Grand Tactician: The Civil War (1861-1865), Whiskey & Lemons, will be released on 25th of August, 2023 (17.00 UCT / 10.00 PDT)! On the same day we will also release Volume 2 to the game's Soundtrack, and a major update to the main game. Details below:
Whiskey & Lemons.
Whiskey & Lemons DLC introduces a new career mode, where you can play any campaign in the game starting from a low position, caring only about your unit and your career, with the AI taking care of the rest. With prestige and promotions you may rise all the way to the top of your nation's military leadership, which will open up more options to influence the war effort. Career mode includes role playing elements for character development. The possibility to take only a smaller role in the campaign may also suit players that feel the main campaign is too overwhelming. In addition to the career mode, W&L DLC introduces a new regiment scale Eastern Theater focus campaign.
Whiskey & Lemons will sell for USD 24,99. On release, the DLC will have a 10% discount.
Volume 2 of the game's Soundtrack features 20 more old time and traditional tunes from the Civil War era, hand picked & recorded live by Wasel and the Weasels. Like with Soundtrack Vol.1, the music will be included in the game, even if you don't own the Soundtrack or any other DLC. Buying the Soundtrack will allow you to enjoy the music also outside of the game - it's also a good way to support Grand Tactician -project, and especially the talented musicians!
We will also update the Bundle option for the game, which includes all the content for 10% off.
Major Patch 1.21.
With the DLC release, there will also be a major new patch for the main game. The patch includes bug fixes, some new features, balancing, performance & AI improvements, and the new music.
To aid and onboard solo players who don’t have any loot – Raider Mode offers an alternative, faster paced match! We’re determined to give solo players the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the mechanics and weaponry of Marauders. We’ll be monitoring feedback, and will adjust this mode accordingly.
Raider Mode sees you and up to five other solos masquerade as low life raiders. You’re assigned a random loadout and starting position inside a raid location, with the directive of making it to the escape pods.
How it works:
Raider Mode automatically puts players together in solos and doesn't have any crew functionality
You can only use this mode if you have nothing equipped (You will be extracting with gear)
Players spawn as “Raiders” within a raid location using player starts (no in ships, just within the POIs) These Spawns are well-placed, random and are assigned to each player.
There are little to no A.I. in the Match (depending on feedback, at the moment there are zero), instead there are 5 to 6 Players. No Backfill, (everyone starts around the same time, this is obviously dependent on hardware, however the maps are light and shouldn't be an issue.)
Players are given a preset loadout (much like the A.I. raiders do) and sometimes can even get lucky with a blowtorch, but all loadouts are supposed to be low tier with semi automatics taking front and centre.
Raider mode features *a lot* more green uncommon containers than the other mode as a chance to earn an advantage (akin to battle royales) but also loot that can be extracted as a “free loot” dynamic. However, because players can't bring in loadouts the chance to get into the vault is near zero as balance (unless you are the one lucky soul to spawn with the blowtorch loadout)
Using the Escape pod (end of the animation) Extracts.
No XP Bonuses (For balance) Just Kill & Loot XP, No Raid Missions.
Faster Mode, Around 10 Minutes of Oxygen. (subject to change)
Approx. 15 Minute cooldown before you can do it again (subject to change)
Smaller Rotation of Maps, breach only locations, for plunder its merchant ship or mining frigate.
We’re looking forward to seeing how this mode pans out! This should help you acquire some stash before heading into the ominous, unforgiving space.
SVU Special
The Marauders arsenal continues to expand in Plunder! The SVU Special utilises the recently added Dart ammo. The location? Classified. More information to follow in the patch notes on Thursday! Boasting match-grade accuracy with an unforgiving stream of bullets – you’ll want to watch your head if the enemy gets their hands on this rifle.
Watch out for the Patch Notes
We’ll post the patch notes on Thursday, providing full detail on the Loot Goblin, SVU Special and more!
TWEAK: - Jacek, Barabasz: attacks take a bit less Stamina - Samuel: increased size of the weak portion of the blade - Isabella: shorter recovery time of High Guard attacks

Two weeks after release, and after a bit of a holiday for me to rest and rebuild, work can resume on Shadows. I've not yet fully planned out how things will go, just getting to V1.0 full release was enough of a task.
The first new addition is a new god, which is now available on the beta-branch. Its powers and mechanics are roughly playable, but need polishing and almost certainly bugfixing.
Going forward I'd like to avoid breaking mod compatibility as rarely as possible. There were a few issues even with V1.0, and I'd like to avoid repeatedly forcing mod creators to update their work. This may mean working towards one big release in October, rather than releasing this new god onto the main branch at the end of the month.
This god itself is quite a technically challenging one, which required a fair amount of changing stuff under the hood in the past few months. It involves games of many thousands of turns, letting players reset the world after each victory, and playing against a more powerful humanity which adapts to how the player has won in the past. Expect even more bugs than usual, as this infinite gameplay pushes the game's systems to their limits, past what they were initially intended to do.
Its gameplay mechanics build on this cyclic system, and it has the ability to curse families, then empower these curses by harming the family, in order to create powerful agents in the next cycle out of their descendents. It can also buff its current agents and harm heroes, making it quite an individual-focused god.
The 2.0 update has launched with overwhelming success. We have been analyzing the feedback and looking at issues since the launch yesterday. Today, we are pushing our first hotfix for the update to tackle the critical issues we spotted.
Hotfix Patch 2.0.2

The update is deployed to the default branch. The database changes only apply to new games, and code fixes apply to ongoing games.
