Hello! I hope you've all been enjoying Settlemoon so far!
I'll be hotfixing the game to take care of some crashes and other weird stuff as they come up! Hotfixes will just add a letter to the end of the version number; actual content updates will be v1.1. You can check what version you're on by looking at the button for the Options menu.
Here's the changes for v1.0a:
MENUS: -Fixed a crash when trying to pick a friend and backing out of the menu at the same time. -The back button on menus now adapts to changing the window size without having to open another menu.
PROGRESSION: -Fixed a softlock involving starting a quest before the tutorial gets there. -Also added some extra failsafes if you ARE in that softlock; you'll have to delete the quest (drag it downwards) and re-open the menu first.

MID-SEASON RACERS
The Mickey & Friends Collection is getting a serious boost with the arrivals of Racers Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck! Minnie will be a Brawler Class Racer while Daisy will be a Trickster Class Racer.
These two iconic Racers will hit the tracks in dedicated Time Limited Events during Season 3. If you’re eager to learn more about how their Unique Skills work, we give you all the details below.
MINNIE MOUSE
Minne Mouse’s Unique Skill is called “Helper’s Aura”
Normal Activation: Minnie receives a large speed boost that lasts for several seconds and also spawns an area of effect (AOE) around her. Any rival Racers who enter this AOE will receive a smaller speed boost.
Charged Activation: Minnie receives both a large speed boost and a special protective shield that lasts for a long time. She also spawns an AOE around her. Any rival Racers who enter this AOE will receive a small speed boost and a protective shield that lasts for a short period of time.
DAISY DUCK
Daisy Duck’s Unique Skill is called “Center Of Attention”
Normal Activation: Daisy receives a protective shield that last for several seconds. While this shield is active, she quickly refills her Manual Boost Bar. If Daisy is stunned or dashed while this shield is active, she will receive a large speed boost and release a shockwave that will stun any rival Racers within its AOE.
Charged Activation: Daisy instantly receives a large speed boost and releases a shockwave that stuns any rival Racers unfortunate enough to be caught within its AOE.
That’s a wrap on all of the new gameplay content coming to Disney Speedstorm Season 3! We’ll see you all out on the racetrack!

This past month, we have been preparing for our next major update. We are also looking to release a small patch this week prior to the major update. Extra details below!
Coding
Memory Usage Improvements
One of the recent known issues with Reign of The Legends is an excessive amount of memory leakage and usage. This has been responsible for stuttering and poor performance on most machines. Our lead programmer Brad has been investigating the source of the memory leak, and he has found solutions to help reduce the amount of memory usage. There are still more steps to take to further improve this in the future as well. We will continue to combat against this and allow for a better experience in game. This may help those users who have been struggling to properly run the game. This will be present in the new patch later this week.
Netcode Improvements
The team has been testing netcode performance, and we are excited to release improvements to our online experience. This includes better connections when connecting to opponents, a new user interface for invites, and a universal invite system for online that does not require linking an Epic Games Account. This will be featured in the new patch this week.
Character Balance
In the coming patch, several characters have been looked at and will receive changes. Some notable examples include reworking existing special moves, removing unintended loops/infinites, adjusting hitboxes, and adding proper damage scaling to certain moves. More specific details will be available in the next patch's notes. This will be available later this week as well.
CPU AI
One of the bigger achievements in this coming update involves CPU artificial intelligence and difficulty. We have noticed some fighters do not perform to the expectation we have for them in certain difficulties. The team has improved upon and tested the CPU intelligence in recent weeks and have found greater results. Namely, higher difficulties will now feature more competent computer opponents. You can expect some more engaging combat from CPU opponents in the coming patch this week!
Animations
Final Three Fighters
With the Invisible Man's animations complete, animation work has been steadily focused on our final three members of the Roster. We are still holding off on the identities of these fighters for the time being, but we are approximately a little over halfway done with animations for these fighters. We plan to have the final roster implemented before the end of the year, though it may slip into January at the latest.
The Invisible Man
As stated previously, the Invisible Man has all animations complete. After the Spring Heeled Jack update, we will begin implementing this fighter into the game. This fighter may take the longest to implement due to some unique abilities he possesses. You can expect more news about this fighter in Next Month's Dev Blog.
Other News
Epic Games Store
The team has officially confirmed that the Spring Heeled Jack update will mark the official release of Terrordrome: Reign of The Legends on The Epic Games Store! This is an exciting step for us to expand the game's reach and audience.
The Madman
The Team has looked into a new announcer for the game as stated in last months Development Vlog. We are happy to say we have found a new voice, and this new announcer will be featured in the Spring Heeled Jack update. We are dubbing this announcer "The Madman" as a nickname for the voice. We are looking to implement this new announcer very soon as all dialogue has been recorded.
EVO 2023: Indie Fighting Game Showcase
As mentioned last month, Terrordrome: Reign of The Legends will be participating in EVO 2023's Indie Fighting Game Showcase. Tune in to twitch.tv/evo1 on Friday the 4th at 5PM EST to view our new trailer! In this trailer, we will be revealing a small tease for Spring Heeled Jack's gameplay, alongside a preview of the Madman as an announcer. We will also be posting the trailer to our YouTube Channel as well!
With that all said, we greatly appreciate the continued support! We are working each day to have the game grow into a greater experience for our followers. Be on the lookout for these coming updates this month, and we will see you again in September! Thank you!
Always wondered if you were the one with the biggest brain among your friends? Today you'll be able to find out for yourself by challenging them in Escape Simulator's brand-new Versus Update! Rise to the top of the ranks by being the first to solve all the puzzles in one of our many escape rooms. To commemorate this new way to play, we are also adding a truly challenging room that takes place on a quiz show from the 80s.
Finally, we would like to challenge all of our community's incredibly talented room builders to create their own Versus rooms! That's right, we are kicking off our fourth official Build-A-Room challenge TODAY! As always, there are some awesome prizes involved. Be sure to keep reading for more information on this new Build-A-Room challenge down below!
The Versus Update is absolutely huge and it features a new game mode, new rooms, soundtrack, outfits, a few very interesting additions (such as "join random multiplayer lobby" option), and a bunch of fixes. The full massive changelog is in the bottom of the page.
But how does it work?
As the title implies, in this brand-new Versus Mode, you will be able to take on other players to prove that you are the greatest escape artist. Just like in the regular Co-op Mode, one player will need to host a game to create a lobby for your opponents to join. Once that's settled, you’ll have to select a room that each of you will be tackling individually. You can choose any room you want, even the community rooms made in the in-game room editor!
Once you've selected and entered a room, the game begins. In order to keep track of how far along your opponents are, we've added an in-game progress bar that shows you exactly whether you're ahead of the game or if you should step it up a notch! This progress bar will allow you to see the exact progress of your opponents. No pressure or anything.
Back to the 80s! ✨
In addition to the new game mode, we are also adding another free room with two different difficulties (the hard one is designed in collaboration with Wollo!) as part of this update! This time, you will find yourself on the set of a classic game show from the 80's. This room was specifically made with Versus Mode in mind, so you can definitely expect a truly challenging room this time around! Finally, we are also adding a brand-new outfit that will come in two different colours; red and blue! Will your team come out on top and steal the show? Only time will tell!
Build-A-Room #4: Versus Challenge!
As mentioned earlier on in this announcement, the next Build-A-Room contest kicks off RIGHT NOW! The only condition for this contest? Create your own Versus Room that is explicitly made to have players race against each other. But what can you win? Well, we're glad you asked!
