Hey, everyone!

Today there are new perks in the pool! I added 8 new ones, all attack perks! Hopefully they will bring more variation to the table and expand the possibility for new viable builds!

Here's whats new on 0.9.027:
  • 8 new attack perks: Spoiled Milk, Look At My Butt, Death Stare, Zeus Cat, Not Too Close, Marksman, Tail Tornado and Feline Vortex!
  • Refactored the Armory Screen to adjust to every aspect ratio without cutting the edges and hiding information.
  • Minor bugs fixed.

My apologies to everyone inadvertently killed by the change in the 3.23.11.0 update! The problem was that some of the volumes in the boulders were spheres and capsules which can't be non-uniformly scaled. Unfortunately this didn't come up in testing because on vanilla maps the boulders were always uniformly scaled, whereas on many custom maps boulders are scaled on a single axis to better fit a surface or for visual variety. (which is perfectly reasonable, my bad for not thinking about this side effect)

  • Reverted addition of kill volumes inside some vanilla boulders.

Today you will learn about mercenaries, weapons and how you get those weapons!

Let’s start…

Mercenaries
Mercenaries are simple folk - you pay them and they work for you. In the realities of Legendary Hoplite this means that you use your Combat Points to make them perform an action during combat. What actions can they do? Multiple: clean up obstacles, buff allies, debuff enemies, set traps, etc.
Different levels of chapters usually have corresponding mercenaries related to the plot and environment. For example, in Chapter 1 we have a grave digger.



What will a gravedigger do? He will dig up graves on the cemetery map and this will prevent ghosts from spawning. This is especially useful against Cerberus, who can summon ghosts from the graves.



Arcana and more Legendaries


Arcana are special set items. When a player has 2 or more items from the same set, they will receive a special effect of that Arcana. They will also have their own unique animations.

One of the sets consists of Dragon Tail (spear), Dragon Tooth (sword), Underworld’s Rift (shield) and Underworld’s Darkness (helm). Shield allows you to turn enemies into skeletons, spear increases damage from all sources to the enemies hit by it, but we won’t tell you what helm and sword do. But we will tell you what some of the set bonuses do. For example, when you have 3 pieces of this set you will spawn an allied skeleton each time you kill an enemy and a chance to spawn a skeleton archer alongside it. And 4 pieces give all your skeletons poison attacks, give a chance to spawn two skeleton archers instead of one and allows you to summon a Colchian Dragon!



We also want to share a couple of new legendary weapons.
Cronus’s Harpe sword allows you to designate an area where time stops. It affects both allies and enemies, but enemies will take more damage while they are under this effect. And if you kill an enemy with a melee attack there is a chance that this will reduce the cooldown of spells.
Frozen Heart shield sends a sphere of cold - with ice spikes around it - dealing damage and slowing enemies hit. When the sphere reaches location - it explodes dealing damage and applying a slow effect on all the enemies nearby. And with enough enemies in front of Dio, Frozen Heart will attack them with ice spikes, dealing damage and slowing them.

Drop system

The system is quite simple, really, as it consists of two components: Blood system and General system.

Blood system guarantees a 100% drop chance, but you will only receive loot (items or coins) from it after killing a new type of enemy for the first time in combat. Each time you encounter a new enemy, you'll receive loot, allowing you to have a variety of choices for equipment.

On the other hand, General system affects all enemies and provides you with a chance to obtain an item from every kill. However, the drop chance is much lower compared to the Blood system. Additionally, the General system does not have a predetermined quality or type. It randomly determines various attributes (type, stats, skill, etc.) once it confirms that you should receive an item.
