We'll be playing through the second Chapter of Dros. This collection of stages are called The Furnace and feature a lot of lava, interesting puzzles and cool items to collect. Join us as we play and chat about what went into making them.
As we wrote at the previous notification - 'Notification about later updates', this update is focused on the introduction of AvaKit SDK that makes it possible to apply various shaders to your VRM, and resolving the issues related to detecting the camera device for tracking.
This is our first fortnight update and it feels for us longer that it really is. Thanks for waiting. Your feedbacks are really helpful to develop better AvaKit ๐โโ๏ธ
It is incompletely available to import your .vsfavatar model. However, it is an experimental feature, and whole import would not be possible for some models. Please regard it as an intermediate step to develop the complete support of .vsfavatar model or to discover the alternatives.
Improvement of camera device detection
There have been several reports about camera detection malfunction from couple of VTuber users. By improving the algorithm related to detecting the camera device, this issue can be resolved from v1.1.4. Also, if the camera is disconnected or the accidental issue occurs at the tracking algorithm, the popup-window will be floated to notify the issue.

It is more available to occur some unexpected crash or issues if you use MacOS device and connect lots of virtual cameras and webcams. Please note this point.
Options for tracking performance (resolution, fps)
From v1,1,4, users must set the camera configuration before start tracking in AvaKit. You can choose various options related to tracking performance in the camera setting. You can implement lighter but normal-quality tracking by lowering the resolution and fps, while you can implement heavier but high-quality tracking by heightning the resolution and fps.
๐ง Cautions!
The 'resolution' in camera setting is NOT the resolution of your display or the maximum supported resolution of your camera, but the resolution of the video that is being captured by your camera. It regulates the 'size' of the video data.
Higher resolution and frame
Better tracking performance
Glitch or latency may occur unless the specification of CPU/GPU is enough
Heavier CPU/GPU usage
Lower resolution and frame
Lighter CPU/GPU usage
Tracking available even if you are using a common, light CPU/GPU
Relatively worse tracking performance
In addition, you can experience glitch or latency if you use 'MJPEG' format since its default frame rate is relatively high (30). - Higher fps means that the size of the data that should be computed is heavy which leads to high volume of computation. It is recommended to use 'YuY2' format if the performance is not satisfactory. Lastly, there often occurs the error when the resolution is set as 'XRGB'. If the error occurs, please try other resolution options.
Issue related to camera device connection (socket) is urgently resolved.
It is avilable to scroll down the decriptoin box of in-game user report.
Rendering quality of some models is improved. (e.g. Maki)
As I said before, the next update patch will be focused on 'debugging'. We will come back with 'better and more usable' AvaKit by resolving issues to the fullest extent.
We'll always try our best to improve AvaKit. Thank you.

This weeks challenge requires you to wear a pair of cool shades and make paparazzi take photos of you to progress the challenge. When the table is placed, a pair of sunglasses will appear nearby. Walk on the sunglasses to wear them and find one of the paparazzi that will appear around. While wearing the sunglasses, interact with the paparazzi to get them to take a photo of you and progress on the challenge.
How it works: Unlock the Weekly Challenge table in the Star Milestone. Place it whenever you start a map and it will record your challenge progress while you play. You need to place it every time you start a map for it to record. Watch your numbers grow and make sure to complete the target score before Friday.
Please install and launch Unity Editor of corresponding version. You can check Unity Editor with various versions at this link. AvaKit can support Unity Editor 2021.3.1f version to 2021.3.8f version, and we recommend you to use 2021.3.3f. Please click 'Unity Hub' button of Unity 2021.3.3.
Then the installation window for 2021.3.3f Unity Editor will be at the Unity Hub. It is not necessary to enable other packages. Please just click the install button. (The time spent to install might be long since the size of the file is large.)
Create new project Please click the 'Projects' at the left bar and click the 'New project' button right above.
Please set the Editor version as 2021.3.3f1 or the version that you downloaded, and choose the Core as '3D(default)'. Lastly, please name your project and click the 'Create proejct' right below.
Installing 'AvaKit SDK Installer' Please make sure to import and download SDK first before importing VRM. Please download the file 'AvaKit SDK Installer' at this link. You can import this unity package file by dragging and dropping the downloaded file to Editor, or clicking Import Package > Custom Package... at the Project window of your Unity Editor.
If you worry about the direct download from Google Drive, you can use GitHub with Unity Package Manager. Please click Window > Package Manager at the above toolbar to open the Unity Package Manager window.
Click the '+' button left above and then click Add package from git URL...
After finishing the installation, there will be 'AvaKit' menu at the toolbar above. Please click AvaKit > Add Package > Install All to install the whole necessary package to implement AvaKit SDK.
Export .avakitvrm file
Load your VRM in this project and apply the shader that you want.
Choose the avatar object after work and click AvaKit > Export Avatar at the toolbar above.
You can drag and drop to set the root unless the VRM Root is assigned.
If there are any unsupported components, it is unavailable to export your model. Please delete them by clicking 'Delete' button.
If there are any unsupported shaders, it is unavailable to export your model. Please change them into lilToon shader by clicking 'Resolve' button.
When entire components and shaders are appropriately applied, 'Export' button is activated. Please click the button to export your model into .avakitvrm format.
You can see the new '.avakitvrm' file exported.
We'll always try our best to improve AvaKit. Thank you.
