Before anything, I want to inform you that I've finally fixed the most important issues! You will find the list at the bottom.
Secondly, I've started working on the translation and I will do my best to deliver it as soon as I can.
And last but not least, I want to apologize for the complete lack of updates. I will give some explanations below:
I've read almost all your feedbacks since I've published the game and I knew for a long time that it had issues. In reality, I couldn't find the time and the energy to open the project after all this time because I knew how the code was. Hacker Simulator is my very first project and I didn't had the experience that I have today when I worked on it. We can't really tell by just looking at the game, but the code is a mess and I found it very difficult to go back to it and understand it all.
Today it's a completely different story. Every person who has bought the game has contributed to giving me the opportunity to use my time to learn everything I've learned so far, and I can't thank you enough.
I've learned so much, from game design, core principles of game development, to being able to understand most of the multiplayer principles for example, and I intend to use this knowledge to bring you some fun experiences in my next titles!
Finally, here is the patch note:
Patch note:
New task bar feature
Added a task bar functionality to the computer, allowing us to keep shortcuts to the windows we open and to minimize/restore them as we want. It will make the navigation a lot easier!
User Interface
Reworked the User Interface so it is now responsive to every screen resolutions.
Fixed an issue where the User Interface sometimes had some offset, completely preventing us to interact with it. (The call from the beginning for example...)
Fixed an issue where the game resolution was still the same after starting the game on a different monitor.
Main and Pause Menus
Reworked the Main Menu and the Pause Menu so it is responsive to every screen resolutions.
Fixed an issue where the Main Menu was not scaled correctly after a resolution change, preventing us to interact with it unless we removed our setting save file.
Window dragging functionality
Reworked the window dragging functionality.
Fixed an issue where clicking on the header bar of a window was not correctly detected, preventing us to drag windows.
Focus on terminal windows
Reworked the focus on terminal windows so we are now able to focus on them by clicking anywhere in them, and not only on the command line!
Fixed an issue where we could focus on a terminal window only by clicking its header bar.
Most games keep NPC's simple, but not us! We wanted to make the immersion into our world as believable as possible, so we gave our NPC's living, breathing decisions that change with every playthrough.
Weddings and funerals were a big part of social life back then, so we made sure to get both events in the game for the player to experience. No nasty cut-scenes to break apart your experience either! We are leaving it entirely up to you on what to do... even if that is proposing at someone else's wedding!
We also wanted to make sure other NPC's could experience the joy of marriage as well. So on your way to the town hall, you'll probably spot a mass of people dropping whatever they were doing just to attend, whether they were in school or working. After all, it is a big event that only happens once, right?
The funeral event was tricky as we always wanted to expand upon our graveyard and create a groundskeeper in charge of burying the dead and hosting funerals. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was one of the first games I played as a kid and I always enjoyed heading over to the graveyard to check out Dampe - the graveyard keeper. Although it would be amazing to turn this into a proper profession for NPC's, we decided to keep the event simple for now, but still very memorable.
Make sure to keep in contact with your friends and loved ones as you never know when their time will be up. However, we still made it possible to be enemies with people, so there will always be that one person who is glad someone died... or who's dressed incorrectly at the funeral itself. You just never know!
There are lots more updates to come so make sure to wishlist the game, join our Discord, and follow us on our socials to see even more!
We can also be found on Kickstarter! If you want to be among the first notified of it launching later this year make sure to follow the campaign!
On this day, July 12, in 100 BC, Julius Caesar was born in Suburra, Italy. To celebrate, we'd like to remind you that you can add the birthday boy to your roster of playable Civilization VI leaders by linking your 2K Account to the Steam Account that you use to play. You can find instructions on how to create and link a 2K Account below.
Unsurprisingly, Caesar's military prowess makes him ideally suited to aggressive play in pursuit of Domination Victories, which are achieved by conquering the original Capital city of every other civilization. Waging war on a global scale is expensive, so making the most of Caesar's unique "Veni, Vidi, Vici" leader ability is key. With it, you receive 200 Gold whenever you conquer a city for the first time, or 100 Gold when you clear a Barbarian Outpost. Once you research Steel, these Gold amounts both increase to 500!
How will you choose to lead as Julius Caesar on his birthday? Perhaps you want to recreate history by playing on the True Start Location Earth Huge map? Or maybe you want to mix things up by interacting peacefully with some Barbarians in Barbarian Clans mode? Regardless of how you choose to celebrate as Caesar, we hope you have fun and emerge victorious!
Setting up and linking a new 2K Account
Signing up for a 2K Account is easy! Simply go to 2K Account Signup and register. Once you’ve completed the sign-up, link your Steam account and boot up Civilization VI. Once in the game, log into your 2K Account.
You can also sign up for a 2K Account in-game. Simply click on the 2K Account button in the bottom right-hand corner of the main menu, then follow the instructions to register a new account.
Linking an existing 2K Account
If you already have a 2K Account, all you need to do is boot up Civilization VI and log in to your 2K Account via the button in the bottom right-hand corner of the main menu. Once your account is linked, restart Civilization VI to add Caesar to your roster of leaders.
*Offer available until November 24, 2024. Requires an Internet connection, a Steam copy of Civilization VI, and a 2K Account linked to the Steam account used to play the game. One per account. Void where prohibited. Terms apply.
Today, we're showing off another feature of the game:
🔮 Spirits! 🔮
You may have heard Moonstone Island referred to as a "Pokémon-meets-Stardew game", and it's the creature-collecting aspect that we're talking about today. Our creatures are called Spirits, and they form the backbone of Moonstone Island's card-combat system. There's a lot to say about Spirits, so let's get stuck in!
Each one of our Spirits is a completely unique design, and our ideas for the Spirits can come from just about anywhere. Some of them are simple combinations, like a beach ball with sunglasses, while others are inspired by our favorite things, like Ghibli movies (seriously, we've got a lot of Ghibli references).
They're all matched up to an elemental type, too, and we have eight elements in total: Earth, Water, Poison, Electric, Fire, Dark, Psychic, and Ice. They also have weaknesses, one that is based on their type (so, Fire is weak to Water) and one that is randomly chosen, just to keep things a little unpredictable!
Every single Spirit also has its own ability, some of which affect the battle, but some of which affect other things, like your walk speed, your likelihood of finding treasure, or your success rate with flirting. It's quite fun to figure out which Spirits do what to really get the ball rolling! You can have up to three Spirits in your Medallion – the team that's out in the field with you – and you can have up to three Spirits follow you around, too.
Finally, every Spirit will drop special elemental Spirit resources. We hear that someone in town might be researching these resources, and might even pay you for filling up your Spirit encyclopedia. But that's all we know...
Our aim is 100 spirits for the launch, so follow us along on our journey as we unveil new little guys for you to collect!
