Welcome to the fourth War Thunder Steam Community Spotlight!

Following on from the First, Second and Third War Thunder Steam Community Spotlight, the War Thunder Steam Community Management team has continued looking at the community hub for War Thunder, and have yet again spotted some outstanding screenshots, videos and artwork that our players have been creating! So once again, we’ve picked our favourites and thought that we'd share them with the rest of the Steam community. Take a look below.

Featured already in our spotlight for great pencil drawings, this player has now drawn the Fw 190 D-9, a fantastic performing and looking German aircraft. Well done!

Desert Storm! A nice screenshot of the Strv-122A, T-72B3, M1A1 and Leopard 2A4 (PzBtl 123) in the desert, with each tank commanded by 4 different players. Well done, guys!

A cleverly made screenshot with a nice explosion in the background (cool tanks don’t look at explosions) - this reminds us of the main screen artwork we made years ago, but with a cool twist! Nice work.

A Soviet, lend-lease M4, by Yar man! The details and construction are amazing, along with the weathering across, and of course the infamous Soviet log on the side. Great work.

An outstanding 1/35 scale model of the Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind! It looks amazing, the paint camouflage as well as the fine details really make this model pop out, and we also spotted the funny “Devil’s Head” emblem decal that we have in the game! Fantastic work on this model!

A magnificent, but not yet finished, portion of a Tiger tank, made entirely out of MATCHSTICKS! It looks really cool and certainly takes a creative mindset to create something like this out of matchsticks. It’s not yet finished, and we can’t wait to see the finished result. Fantastic work!

What’s this? That’s right, a T-34 (1941) made entirely out of SNOW! Look how incredible that is, created by the player “Velja”, who wanted their very own tank in their backyard. Well, now they’ve got it! The tank is over 5 metres long and took several hours to build. Nice work on this! We love it.

Healing powerup from +17% to +30% per rank.

New achievements:
Each mage now has two new achievements (In total 20 new achievements):
1: Survive arena endgame round 5 on impossible or harder with each mage.
2: Survive arena endgame round 5 on +475% with each mage.

Hello, Overseer!
War has changed.
But... War never changes.
...So maybe nothing's changed?
But - no, something's definitely changed.

What has changed, dear Overseer, is that the Combat Revamp that we've announced a long while ago has just come out, ready to be mastered by you! Among many changes and differences compared to the previous system, one is most definitely at the forefront that you will welcome:
Speed-Ups during missions now extend to walking speed as well!

No more sitting for ages, waiting for the elevator to reach a different floor, listening to cheesy music and not even able to exchange trivia about your cultures or recent happenings with your companions!
But there's so much more, too!

- Division of the battle field into 3 lines.
- Items will have unique stats spreads.
- Armor Penetration - new stat - the opposite of the fun penetration.
- Unique Combat behavior - weapons will not hit random enemies. Melee weapons will start mowing enemies on their front line while.
- Ranged weapons will prefer the back and middle enemy lines.
- New two-stat-based weapon types are now possible! First ones to be such weapons are the Bows.
- Auto-skill and auto-heal toggles!
- Combat UI improvements
- Indicating enemies' damage type (Melee, Ranged)
- Buffs and Debuffs effects will be displayed over the target's HP bar

Still, not everything went as smoothly as we had hoped, so while we finish up a few kinks, we had to temporarily disable Reforging - a decision made so you wouldn't lose your materials needlessly while we haven't finished tweaking them. We will bring it back as soon as possible, hopefully next week!
Apart from any possible hotfixes, we are also working on important patches to further adjust the entirety of the system towards the Combat Revamp.
For now, though: prepare for your new reality of combat, Overseer, for War... has not yet finished changing.

PS: Current version of the Combat Revamp has a slightly reduced enemy combat prowess. They will attack less often compared to your Champions. In the next updates their attacks will be brought back to the original design, which will be the same as you will see on your armaments.
Give it a go, let the new combat mechanics sink in, level up your girls and their equipment, fiddle around with skills and tactics. Don't forget to let us know what are your thoughts!

Hello everyone! We have published the 0.4.0 update.
This update is expanding on the last update, the questing update.

Because the last update was mostly focusing on the backend of the game, last month we could more focus on creating actual content for the game. We have created a few NPCs with more properly fleshed out questlines and made cutscenes for them!




What's new?

This update is best experienced blind, so there won't be extra detailed patch notes this time around. To see what is new, just start a new game! There should play a new cutscene at the beginning.

Currently we have added one major NPC quest line, but we plan to add more in the future. The quest line can be found in the summer island



If you missed the last update, below are instructions on how to use the Journal.

The Journal
When completing your Quests, you can check on them using your Journal
The Journal can be accessed any time by pressing "ESC" on keyboard or the "Menu" button on an Xbox controller (That's the hamburger button with 3 lines!)

The Journal shows the current island's Quests on that day and the Objectives you have for them.



What's happening in July?

Most of the Panda team will be enjoying their well deserved summer breaks in July, so there won't be another update this month. We plan to resume regular updates by the end of autumn, see you then!

Access the Unstable branch on Steam by right clicking City Game Studio in your Steam library, and then select ‘Properties’. In the new window, select ‘Betas’. The Unstable branch should now be available for you to choose from.

Please leave any feedback you may have in the appropriate channel in our Discord, or in the subforum on Steam.

As always, remember to be considerate towards players not partaking in the Unstable, in case they want to avoid spoilers.

Hello, PUBG Esports fans!

PUBG Global Series 2, powered by Gamers8, the world's largest gaming and esports festival is now only around a month away!

As the ongoing PGS 2 qualifiers wrap up, the top 24 teams from around the world will soon descend upon Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

PUBG GLOBAL SERIES 2 x Gamers8


The PGS 2 tournament will take place from August 10th to 20th at the Baker Alshidi Theater in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In partnership with Gamers8, the event will be open to the crowd throughout the tournament! Exciting, right?

- All matches are expected to start at 1500 on-site. (1100 UTC)

Tournament Structure


Group Stage
The journey begins with a Group Stage. Here, the participating teams will fight for better chance to advance to the Grand Finals.

- Prior to the Group Stage, teams will be divided into THREE groups: Group A, B, and C
- Each group will compete against other groups over 3 days of the Group stage.
ㅤㅤ- Day 1: Group A, B
ㅤㅤ- Day 2: Group B, C
ㅤㅤ- Day 3: Group C, A
- Each day of the Group Stage will consist of 6 matches
- Based on the outcomes of the total Group Stage results,
ㅤㅤ- The top 16 teams will be placed in the Winners Bracket
ㅤㅤ- The bottom 8 teams will be placed in the Losers Bracket.

Winners & Losers Bracket
Teams will then move on to the Winners & Losers bracket, where they will face challenges to secure their tickets to the Grand Finals.

Winners Bracket- The Winners Bracket consists of 12 matches over 2 days.
- The rewards for the winners of the group stage are huge. The top 8 teams in the Winners bracket will be granted a seat directly to the Grand Finals. The remaining 8 teams will be placed into the upcoming Losers Bracket for another chance.

Losers Bracket- The Losers Bracket consists of 12 matches over 2 days.
- The Losers Bracket will contain the bottom 8 teams from Group Stage and the bottom 8 teams from the Winners Bracket.
- Only the top winning half will advance to the Grand Finals.
ㅤㅤ- The remaining bottom 8 teams will be eliminated from the tournament.

Grand Finals
After a day of break, 16 teams will push their limits in the final battle for the ultimate chicken dinner.

- The Grand Finals will take place over 3 days with 6 matches per day.
- The top team to be ranked in first place once the final match is complete will be declared the grand champion of the PUBG Global Series 2.

PGS Points


Only the top 16 teams of the tournament will be granted with PGS points!
- After PGS 2 is concluded, the top 4 teams with the most PGS points from PGS 1 & 2 will be granted with a ticket to the PUBG Global Championship 2023!
- Please note, the PGS point system is an independent point system. PGS points are not added to the PGC points acquired in Regional Tournaments.

Prize Pool


The total prize pool of PGS 2 is an astonishing $2,000,000, which will be distributed to the participating teams based on their final standings in the tournament.

Ruleset


The PGS 2 Tournament will now officially feature Taego into our global PUBG Esports' map pool. Please note that the new map will have a lower ratio compared to our classic maps as it is gradually introduced.

Moreover, PGS 2 will be running with patch #24.2 where we will be seeing Panzerfaust and Mortar in the tournament! We can't wait to see how these new items will impact the game's meta. Rest assured, we will closely monitor community feedback to provide the best competitive gameplay experience.
Conqueror's Blade - Conqueror‘s Blade Community
Based on recent battle statistics and community feedback, we'll be rolling out the following balance to units on July 13.

Modao Battalion
1. The Modao Battalion is a polearm-type unit and can equip all polearm doctrines (apart from Charge ones).
2. The damage dealt by [Modao Defense], [Modao March] and [Carnage] is now considered as Brace damage.
3. Slightly increased the brace hitbox of [Modao Defense].

Iron Reapers
1. Changes to [Very Heavy Armor]: Gain immunity to Dazed while attacking. Grants an initial damage reduction to all types of damage of 48%. Each hit taken reduces the damage reduction by 2.5%, down to 18% after 12 hits.
2. Greatly increased the block break of flail attacks, so that they can break through the block of shield units in a single hit.
3. Flail attacks reduce the enemy's defenses by 10% until they retreat.

Monastic Knights
Changes to [Very Heavy Armor]: Gain immunity to Dazed while attacking. Grants an initial damage reduction to all types of damage of 48%. Each hit taken reduces the damage reduction by 2.5%, down to 18% after 12 hits.

Fortebraccio Pikemen
Reduced the speed at which they turn while moving or during Brace, making it more difficult for them to quickly turn and follow the enemy's movement.
