Gastova: The Witches of Arkana - RayaneFLX
Hello Everyone!

It’s been awhile since we’ve had an update here on Steam. We usually do these types of updates on our Kickstarter page, but starting now, we will give these updates directly here on Steam, for all the players to be on the same page.

Game Content Updates - Where is it?

First, we are sorry for the long time without any updates, as well as the delays of the programmed content updates. It’s gonna take a while longer, and we don’t have a set date for that yet. We deeply apologize for that.

That being said, it’s not all doom and gloom - We had some rough bumps along the road the last 3 months, but we have not abandoned the game at all and today is a joyful occasion. So let’s talk about all the things related to this game and what's happening to it!

The Game Grows!

One of the biggest challenges to finish Gastova is the fact that, content wise, this game is constantly growing. A lot of the updates that we have been planning since forever are things that were not a part of the original premise and promises over at Kickstarter. That double edged sword is cause for much despair at times, but also joy, as we over here at Mechwolf feel we are doing a game we really love.

Boss Fights

We are working on the last 5 boss fights of this game. 4 are pre-final boss - This fight was going to be a gauntlet of 8 boss battles, but we felt that would drag unnecessarily and turn the fights quite empty. Instead, we will have a gauntlet of 4 boss fights right before the final boss.
Here’s a sneak peek of the last round of bosses!

We have received feedback that some earlier boss fights are more engaging and interesting than late game boss fights. We have been working on that, as well as trying to fix some of the worst aspects of those boss fights. Aldebaran, being the biggest offender, will be receiving some important fixes.

We also would like to ask: What boss fights do you like the most? What boss fights do you like the least, and why? Let us know in the comments, or the forums, what your experience with the game so far has been like!

Game Balancing Issues

A set of very important game overhauls are going to happen. One of the most fundamental ones is the removal of the casting bar for boss fights. Why?

First, casting times and casting bars have been part of the issues of some boss fights. Sometimes, it allows the player to cheese the fight to the point of losing all fun. Instead, we plan to have visual or sound cues to represent the next attack, and change the behavior of bosses a little to accommodate that change.

A skill name window will appear so you know what attack the boss is going to land a little before it happens, but it won’t be as disruptive as the casting bar has been so far. This will change the pace of some boss fights, and we hope we can use this to create better challenges.

We will also be implementing several design overhauls in an attempt to make the gameplay feel tighter and more in control. Our hope is that with this change, all of the various mechanics such as summons, elemental bursts, staff attacks and buster attacks will work more in tandem with one another as opposed to feeling like separate mechanics without interactions.

And lastly, shop, currency and other upgrade overhauls will be done to make sure the game is more balanced, especially in regards to abuse of potions.

Fashion Witch?

We are happy to confirm the final game will contain 16 costumes for Gastova in total (including her default one). The vast majority will be unlocked in game as you play it. While these costumes add some minor mechanical changes to Gastova, they are not required for players to fully enjoy the game experience.

Voice Acting

The game will now have voice acting during important dialogues! We believe that while not strictly necessary, this will help us flesh out the character interactions a lot more. We have been working with some wonderful talents to achieve this (shoutout to you guys!), and we can’t wait to implement the lines in game!

Final Words

We would like to thank every single one of our players for the infinite patience and goodwill. You guys make all the struggles worth it, as we know we can’t give up with everyone cheering on us. We hope to deliver a good game, and that will only be possible because of you!

Lastly, we are going to take part in the Steam Summer Sale, and we hope that will invite new players to be a part of the Gastova family!

Thank you and stay safe and sound, everyone. Until next time!

Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition - jakub.kurowski
Techland’s Good Night, Good Luck update is poised to bring about considerable changes in Dying Light 2 Stay Human gameplay, with improvements to the parkour systems and an overhaul of the night experience.

In the dead of night
The day and night cycle has always been at the heart of Dying Light franchise. This update aims to emphasize the differences in gameplay by ensuring that the night has a heavier, almost horror-like feel. To accomplish that, the visibility is significantly reduced, making the player more reliant on the upgraded flashlight that casts dynamic shadows. The sound design also enhances the atmosphere, with music taking a backseat to effects. What is more, the infected show up in more locations, like Volatiles roaming the rooftops, making no place truly safe after sundown.

Give it a good run
Sometimes the only way to survive is to run away. Not only are the chase sequences more immersive now, but there are also further improvements introduced to the parkour. Other additions include animations, increased control in the air, and maintaining momentum.

While parkour is the highlight of Dying Light 2 Stay Human, some experienced players wanted it to be more challenging. Techland responded to this feedback by introducing a new parkour style, specifically designed to cater to these wishes. Now, players can select in the Settings menu whether they’d like to exercise more control over their movement, for a grounded and intense journey, or go with the assisted gameplay.

Adventures across the map
The third pillar of the update are the Community Maps[/url]. Techland is cooperating with mod.io and giving the players a rare opportunity to access maps created by modders right from the game – without the need of downloading any additional applications or editors. This means a lot of new levels and content to play, demonstrating the unbridled creativity of Dying Light fans. Currently, this feature is supported on PC only, however, it will be coming to consoles and Steam Deck later this year.

Ride off into the (Harran) sunset
The other noteworthy additions include boosted graphics on ultra mode for PC, and a new color grading option called “Harran Sunset”. Additionally, the player will now be able to throw weapons and retrieve them later. The developer also included some modifications to the user interface and added more transmog options.

Zombie days of summer
Good Night, Good Luck ushers in the Summer of Horrors – a series of events, crossovers, and updates spanning the entire season, all the way into September. To celebrate this launch, Techland calls all Nightrunners to test their skills against Volatiles in a Bloody Nights event, starting 29th of June 16:00 CEST until 13th of July 16:00 CEST. The rewards for completing the challenge are: 3 Huntress' Regular & 3 Elite Mission Tickets, Crossbow and Bolts Blueprint, along with The Prick's Outfit. On top of that, Dying Light 2 Stay Human will be on sale for the duration of the event.

Fans of the living dead will be thrilled to find out what Summer of Horrors will bring next. There is a collaboration brewing between Dying Light 2 Stay Human and The Walking Dead that is bound to pique interest. It was first teased during Summer Game Fest – watch this space for further updates.

Do what you must to survive the night – and stop by the Pilgrim Outpost to find out more.

Dome Keeper - MsDeliana

Greetings, Keepers! We have a brand new update for you today, officially adding mod support to Dome Keeper. That’s right: Steam Workshop support is IN!

We’ve also made some tweaks and improvements here and there, including adding a “Friendly Mode” variant of Prestige Mode. It was requested by the community from people who enjoy improving their score, but found the very high difficulty of Prestige mode too punishing. “Friendly Mode” comes with a lower difficulty for a less intense run, where you just compete against your own score and those of your friends who also play that mode. We hope you’ll enjoy it! A full changelog can be found further down in this post.

Look at that mole man go!

Back to the topic of modding! We highly recommend that you head on over to Steam Workshop and check the Mole Man Keeper mod out, created by community members Ategon (music, art, code) and Leif (code). It’s really well made coming with its own tech tree and OST, and just a lot of fun. You can easily see what a different concept it is - exactly the exciting things we hope to see more of with modding!

A really neat way to transport resources in the Mole Man Keepermod!

If you like what they made, go on and join Ategons Discord server to keep up to speed with what he’s working on (like his own game Vuladune)!

That’s not all though! Bippinbits has two new team members: Raffa and Fio. Raffa already made a mod called the “Hydra Launcher”, which is a strong combat gadget that also looks fantastic, as you can expect from him. He’s already working on adding a mod for a new combat focussed mode, so stay tuned!

HAIL HYDRA!

If you want to learn more about making mods yourself, head over to the Dome Keeper Wiki:
https://dome-keeper.fandom.com/wiki/Mod_Developer_Guide
We are working on the documentation and will be expanding it in the coming days. Raffa offered to provide full time mod maker support the coming week, so if you want to get into modding definitely come to our Discord and let him support you.

Changelog
  • Added mod support via Steam Workshop
  • Added "Friendly Mode" to Prestige. It is Prestige on a lower difficulty, where you can beat your own scores and those of your steam friends instead of competing globally
  • Improved visuals for the Relic Hunt cables and hopefully solved all missing cable bugs
  • Added themed cursor, which can be turned off in the options
  • Improved Teleporter animation
  • Improved Assessor icons
  • Fixed some issues around monster movement, especially around drillers not slowing down or stopping on Repellent skills. Behaviour can be slightly different than before.
  • Restructured title stage menu to make space for modding (and multiplayer eventually)
  • Fixed Assessor spheres very rarely not pausing correctly
  • Reverted bad Sword Dome shield battery graphics (will get new sprites eventually)
  • Fixed assessor sphere explosion also running when paused
  • Raised upper limit of maximum monsters per wave to 400 from 100
  • Refactored the "shorten cycles" upgrade inPrestige, as it had various bugs and exploits
  • Fixed Wither ability of Repellent making monsters permanently weaker if reloading while it is active
  • Game will now save automatically only after a wave is beaten, not both before and after a wave
  • Improved cheat detection, especially with false positives
  • Fixed Assessor explosions having no sound upon reload
  • Fixed Assessor explosions not pausing properly when game is paused

That’s all for this time, Keepers! We hope you’ll enjoy modding, both playing them and making your own. As always, please let us know if you experience any issues though the official : Discord: Bippinbits - Dome Keeper. 🧡
