Complete Surface Overhaul

It's been a huge 3 weeks since launch, and while the launch definitely did not go as planned, they've been one of the more amazing learning experiences I've had on this journey. Exhausting but immensely valuable. The first order of business is to thank everyone who stuck around, provided feedback, and helped lift the game to where it is now. It could not have happened without you. Thank you.

The controls have been reworked to provide a smooth, consistent experience for mouse and gamepad users and the UI has been lifted to a higher standard.

Many of the physics related glitches from the cart to the movement of metals have been either corrected or outright replaced with the new inventory system.

The mini-games have had the rough edge cases largely weeded out, and the game has shifted from bug correction to feature addition.

The NPC AI has been, and will continue to be, refined.

The original world level just no longer matched what I feel the game can become. It was drab, and it was too large. Too much wasted time moving from place to place, to much empty space leaving the game feeling lifeless and unfinished. To that end, it's been replaced with a newer, more colorful, more efficient version. I can only hope you like it.

Along with the visual improvement, the level has been upgraded to the new world-partitioned schema brought in with Unreal Engine 5, meaning less of the world should be loaded in at any given time, improving performance. I'm continuing to work to move load off people's GPU's where I can. The lighting now uses the new Lumen model, so should also be more efficient.

Obviously this huge a shift in the game may cause one or two teething issues. I've triple checked if you load an old game you'll keep your cart, mine picks, weapons, and quartermaster. All inventories stay intact. If anything does go wrong, please just let me know.

I expect the game to go back on sale in the next day or so, hopefully to a better reception. Whatever happens, thank you again for everything. I can only hope you got your $4 worth.

  • Fixed an issue where the hotel rating would max out at the end of the shift if there were no rooms available.
  • Resolved the problem of the interior designer asking for an unresearched decorative item.
  • Addressed the issue where the 'bar' research is unlocking the restaurant podium.

CHANGED:
  • Changed the main type headers in the items menu.
  • The game now continues to run in the background.

ADDED:
  • Added a world error information box to the dirty dining tables.
  • UI windows are now movable.
  • Added a search bar to the items menu.

Patch Note: v1.1.1 Hotfix addresses a critical bug causing email delivery failures. Players should now reliably receive all essential emails. Previously, there was a chance that certain emails, such as the one titled 'A Constant Challenge' containing key items like the Crop Duster, would not reach players, resulting in significant obstacles to progression. This issue should be resolved.

Your support and understanding have been immensely valuable as I work to fix these types of issues. I apologize for any inconvenience and genuinely appreciate your ongoing support!

I have been very busy lately and I'm doing my best to keep on top of things, but this time around, things got piled up longer than I would have liked. This update is smaller compared to prior updates as our development focus has shifted primarily toward the next major update we outlined in our Early Access roadmap. We are targeting a late August release for that update with a new Class, a new Book, Daily Challenges, and a lot more.

General Fixes
  1. Fixed bug with Stunning Ghostquills quest not working. Changed to Dazed.
  2. The Splinter Blotter enemy should again correctly apply 'Amplification' to the player, causing increased incoming damage.
  3. Added some missing tooltips to a few binding augments.
Obelisk
  1. Updated Ironclap epic augment Heavy Ironclap to be consistent with other 'inflict' augments. Inflicts Crush directly instead of on hit. Can now inflict if enemy dodges.
  2. Updated Seismic Slam common augment Dense Seismic Slam to be consistent with other 'inflict' augments. Inflicts Crush directly instead of on hit. Can now inflict if enemy dodges.
Clairvoyant
  1. Fixed Spirit bomb rare augment Surging Spirit Bomb showing up as common instead of rare.

Hello everyone!

It’s been a full 24 hours since release! Thank you all so much for your support and feedback especially through Steam reviews. Steam reviews make a huge difference for us as indie developers! If you’re not on our Discord, please come join it as that will be the best place to leave us comments & suggestions, plus interact with our awesome community!

Launching into Early Access brings a ton of feedback and we love seeing all of it. We are working right now on prioritizing and evaluating your feedback and suggestions. We held off on launching with a roadmap because we felt it was important to see player’s feedback before we committed to a roadmap. That being said, we are preparing one that will be available soon.

More immediately, on launch day we sent out Patch #1 addressing feedback we got from the demo. Here’s a list of those changes already in the game:
  • There is immediate feedback when placing Ore in the Omnismelter.
  • Items taken out from the Omnismelter can now be stacked.
  • Map names in the Map menu.
  • Map names are displayed under the Stamina bar when entering a map.
  • Esc is now the default key to open the Menu.
  • Increase of the Character's base movement speed.
  • Roast Carrots now give a movement speed boost for 3 hours.
  • Solar Panels have an increased area of effect.


In addition, we already have Patch #2 that will be available by the end of the week. And are hard at work on Patch #3 to follow soon after.

Following the immediate patch schedule, you can expect us to push out major updates bi-monthly with minor updates and patches as needed. Currently, this is what we are prioritizing and what will be coming in patch #2 and #3:

  • Fix for Terraform texture
  • Fix for Shop UI missing portrait
  • Fix Omninac database entries for a few ores
  • Fix various typos
  • Colony food supply feature improvements
  • Add shortcut key for moving an item/stack from one inventory to another
  • Remove placeholder data from empty Omninac tabs
  • Add Options Menu to title screen
  • UI resolution options
  • Full screen / Windowed option

  • Fix issues with lander not powering Omni smelter on first use
  • Fix cutscene black screens / controls not working

Eventually, the final game will of course have: Livestock, more NPCs, more crafting recipes, 2 more story acts, additional areas, deeper NPC relationship and dating system, seasons, more customization and lots more!
