Blightlands Blacksmith - Skald Software
Patch v1.11

Bug Fixes
  • Continued Inventory improvements.
  • The assembly bench will now always know the correct weapon state, no matter how often you remove and replace the weapon.
  • When aiming at the weapon on the assembly bench to strike, the entire weapon will now allow the bar animation to play and assembly to proceed, instead of one possibly quite small component.
  • Assembly bench scores have been tightened so stopping the bar more than 1/3 away from the target rewards the minimum score of 5% for that strike.
  • Crystal ore node collision has been greatly simplified, which should prevent mine picks or shards getting stuck while mining.
  • Mining nodes now start with a random amount of ore to mine (resetting each time you reenter the mine), with crystal nodes holding about 1/3 of metal nodes on average.
  • The game will no longer allow more than 3 customers in the world at a time. At the daily spawn timer, if more than 3 customers are present for any reason, all customers not actively in the field or returning with a reward will be told to leave immediately.
  • While the crozius mace head no longer forges into a huge mess, its unique shape makes it extremely difficult to forge. More work is needed here.

Ongoing Work
  • Bringing the Banner Officer, Quartermaster, and smelter in line with the inventory system
  • Creation of a lore book/smithing manual to provide greater clarity around game mechanics.

Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator - KyuKyu
Hello, Gardeners!

For our first blogpost, we decided on a screenshot showcase, as Garden Life will feature a hefty amount of different plants and we thought "why don't we just enjoy some scenery before going all technical?".

As a little preface: Garden Life is all about freedom of creation. You will have full creative freedom in your garden and will be able to decorate it however you want, apart from changing the placements of the default buildings like the greenhouse and the shed. We are highlighting that part for a reason: when you look at the screenshots, let your imagination run free and imagine how you would have planted the plants in our place! Maybe you'd use some pots? Or moved some to the greenhouse? Or changed their placement altogether? Garden Life is all about you and how you see your little lush and vivid safe space.

While the final list of plants will remain a secret for now, we can show you about what we already have in the game. Please note that all material that you are seeing right now is work in progress and final visuals can change in the release version of the game.

As you can see, we have already implemented sunflowers, peonies, cyclamen, hydrangeas (the white flower ones), roses, tulips and daffodils. Our garden looks so bright and beautiful already and we are not finished with the full flower roster yet – hope you are excited to see what we’ll add later!

We can’t finish the blog without showing some of our decorations! Windmills, ponds, garden gnomes, snails, frogs and lots of other little things that will make your garden truly unique! They look especially good in motion and we’ll share some gifs and clips with you in later posts.

In our next blogs, we will cover some of the technical aspects of the game. Make sure to wishlist and follow and see you soon!
Blast-off - Eliiah
The Storm location has been reworked in this update.
The first thing you'll notice is multiple backgrounds instead of the one before. Basically, they differ only in color palette. Next, we added small static debris, which makes it easy to evaluate the vector and speed of movement. Last but not least, each burst of the storm now not only casts shadows, but also illuminates enemies, platforms, and even the boss.

Dordogne - hylia
Hi everyone,

Cédric Babouche here, artistic director at Un Je Ne Sais Quoi, the multimedia arm of French animation studio Umanimation, currently developing Dordogne, a narrative adventure that is coming June 13. It’s a heartfelt story about reminiscing your childhood memories, and I’m here to tell you a bit more about how the game takes you down memory lane!

Finding your past

In Dordogne you play as Mimi, a 32-year-old woman traveling to Dordogne to visit the house of her recently deceased grandmother. They used to spend summers there together when Mimi was a child, but the last time was twenty years before. They have lost contact since and Mimi has no memories left from this time. As she rediscovers the house and its surroundings, some sights or objects become doors to the past and lost memories come rushing back to her.

Each key memory will act as a jump back in time where you play as 12-year-old Mimi on the last summer she spent at her grandmother’s. You’ll go back and forth between adult and child Mimi, until the memories you have recollected allow you to eventually find out what happened on that last summer in Dordogne.

Collect your own memories

To recollect a memory, you’ll have to complete mini games. Each of them offers a pretext to move forward in the story: they will allow you to get closer to your grandmother, to meet and start a friendship with a little boy named Renaud, to interact with people at Sarlat’s market…

The actions you will be performing will take you exploring your beautiful and peaceful surroundings to collect photos, sounds and words that you’ll put together in a binder. As you assemble your findings, the binder will read as a reminiscence of your Summertime as a child.

Each player will take the photographs they want, choose the sounds and the words they want to collect, so you’ll really give life to your own binder and create your very own story to recall!

A game for the child in all of us

Dordogne has a universal appeal in that it deals with that nostalgic, foggy relationship we all have with our childhood. We want it to be a game about a part of life that any person can relate to. There are things that every child has done, like bathing in a river, throwing pebbles, climbing rocks, running around in nature. Dordogne is about these childhood moments.

But it is also about the human relations that shape our existence. We all have strong memories, good or bad, about important figures and interactions from when we were growing up. Dordogne is also about these relationships that mark us—of which our team wanted to keep the best, most positive impression, the one that we all long for and that can resonate within every player! Our playtests have shown how much everyone can relate to the game.

Depending on your story, you might get hooked instantly or it might take you a bit more time, but everyone found a little something that spoke to them and made them want to keep going with Mimi’s story!

Dordogne came out on June 13, join us in this heart-warming experience here!
