As you may know, this game was previously created using RPG Maker MZ. However, we started migrating the game to Unity Engine in April. Obviously, RPG Maker and Unity are very different, and we will undoubtedly face numerous challenges when rebuilding this game using the Unity engine.

But as you can see, it is definitely worth it to move to unity!



First, I'd want to demonstrate the difference between RPG Maker MZ Renderer and Unity Engine Renderer. The Unity version is more clearer and has smoother animation than RPG Maker MZ.

While we are not able to recreate 100% of the features on the RPG Maker MZ, we are able to replicate almost all of the features from the previous engine to the new one, and even improve on it!

The world was already filled with life, and the Annunaki, led by Anu, considered it their greatest gift. But, according to the great design, only the gods were to exist forever, while the rest of the creatures were destined to die.
Anu created a new world deep beneath the earth, and at its very center he placed a sickle on the altar, cutting off the threads of life. It could only be taken willingly, thereby assuming the duties of a deadly deity.
But no one was willing to take it.
Certainly Ereshkigal, the eldest of the goddesses, had no interest in that dark trade. She was more interested in the Tables of Destiny, because whoever holds the Tables holds the world.
She dreamed of becoming the most important among mortals and immortals, and by right of seniority she only waited for the moment when the Tables were handed to her.
But, and this is a great lesson for all of us, not everything happens the way we want it to. And therein lies the profound metaphor of death, the descent into dark Irkalla.
One day Ereshkigal was swimming in the lake, enjoying the sun, the warm wind and the cool water, when suddenly a giant dragon descended from the sky. It was so huge that its wings were sweeping the sun. The winds that he raised with mighty sweeps tore out centuries-old oaks and gave rise to devastating samumas.
Dragons grew all their lives, and since death had not yet established its orders, this most ancient of dragons became so enormous that the ground could barely support him.
He sat down beside the lake and drained it in two gulps, nearly swallowing the goddess. Without getting drunk, he tiredly exhaled a cloud of steam.
Ereshkigal rose, covered in mud and seaweed, glaring at the dragon.
- How dare you, you winged worm, spoil my lake? - She screamed, shaking her fist.
- Forgive me, mistress," the dragon murmured, and the world shuddered, "I did not see you. My name is Kur, and I am one of the oldest in the world. For a long time I fly over the sands and I cannot quench my thirst, for I have not met any river or lake deep enough for me.
Ereshkigal shook her head.
- Your stupidity is only comparable to your size, Kur. But... you can serve me if I show you the greatest river in the world.
The dragon nodded, a flicker of hope in his eyes.
Ereshkigal grinned. How had the mindless giant managed to miss the Red River? It had enough power to quench the thirst of a dozen such dragons.
- Sit on my back, goddess, and tell me where your river is.
Ereshkigal happily climbed the living mountain, and they soared into the sky. The dragon flew leisurely, but covered vast distances in a couple of strokes of its giant wings. Truly, such a beast should have been kept close at hand when the Tables of Destiny finally found a worthy ruler. So that neither Ishtar nor the rest of the gods would have any claim on them.
From this height, the Red River seemed a barely discernible thread in the midst of the sands and hills. No wonder Kur had not noticed it before.
- Come down! - Ereshkigal shouted.
The dragon heard only the third time, because the wind carried the words away, and the giant's head was far away from the goddess.
Kur was drinking for a long time, and Ereshkigal was worried that he would drain this river too.
- Stop!" she waved her hands. - Are you not drunk?
- Only a little thirsty," Kur looked fresh and full of energy.
- Shall you go to the land of snow and ice? There mighty rivers and babbling waterfalls flow from the mountains, and hot springs gush from the earth.
- You are right, goddess. And I now have the strength to reach even the most distant lands. But, don't be angry, I'll use up my new powers as I see fit.
Kur swallowed Ereshkigal and soared upward. It rumbled from the heavens, breaking through the solid earth, and stopped only so deep that it was impossible to get out - in the underworld Anu had created.
The dragon spat out a furious Ereshkigal.
- That was the deal," Kur murmured, spreading his wings. - I have brought you to a new realm, and in return I will get nectar from the Celestial City that will quench my thirst once and for all.
- Nectar? - Ereshkigal squinted. - Did one of the gods send you? Ishtar!
Furious, the goddess looked around. And her eyes fell on a black altar, on which a strange sickle shimmering silver. Grabbing it, Ereshkigal struck Kur. No weapon, not even those created by Mulungu, could have damaged the dragon's tough scales, but the sickle easily took its life.
Thick blood flowed from the wound, and the poisoned water of the Red River flowed from its gutted belly, and the two streams intertwined. Thus appeared the great subterranean river Hubur, across which the dead souls were ferried by the ferryman, collecting the obols.
Taking willingly the sickle with which to cut the threads of destiny, Ereshkigal doomed herself to carry death into the world.
From the bones of the defeated dragon she created Irkalla, the city of the dead, and swore vengeance on her sister for deceiving her by depriving her of her rightful power.

Encounter Alien Outposts: (Placeholder Visuals)
Prepare yourself for captivating encounters with alien outposts! We've dedicated some time to crafting unique experiences for each outpost. Whether you prefer a loud or a stealthy approach, there's something for everyone. Get ready for intense pew-pew action or employ your cunning skills to outsmart your extraterrestrial foes.



Improved HUD Info:
We also spent some time to refine the Tractor, Salvage, Mining, Scanning, and Combat Mode HUD Info. These improvements will provide you with vital information at a glance, allowing for more seamless and immersive gameplay.



Beware of Space Bugs and Critters:
We've added captivating Space Bugs and Critters to encounter during your exploration or Caves etc. Brace yourself for thrilling surprises and be ready for any unexpected challenges that may arise.



Enhanced Player Status Panel:
Your survival is our top priority! We've worked on the Player Status Panel, ensuring it now displays when your health or oxygen levels drop below 80%. Stay informed about your vital stats and take the necessary actions to keep yourself alive in the vastness of space.



Ui Visual Update:
We believe that visual excellence is crucial in creating an immersive gaming experience. Numerous 3D models and their UI counterpart sprites have received some updates, bringing the visuals up to our coveted Sliver Standard. While we strive for perfection, we're proud of the progress we've made so far.



Intelligent Hostile AI:
Brace yourselves for even more thrilling encounters! We've bolstered the AI capabilities of hostile ships, allowing them to make strategic decisions. Hostile ships will now choose to engage in close combat before skillfully evading damage or opt for long-range battles. Additionally, we've introduced two new hostile AI variants: the agile Light Fighter (w) and the formidable Light Fighter (v). These variants, along with the three testing alien outposts, promise distinct behaviors and new challenges - if you're a "earliest-access" backer your feedback is most welcome here ;)

Here's what I updated so far today:
  • Desert map now will let you exit. Before, travelling from one desert map to another would eventually get you stuck. Now the desert maps will let you continue travelling.
  • Cobras and basilisks are no longer named "Turkey."
  • More save slots
  • Fixed a bug that was causing the "set the action menu to close automatically" option to reset to close manually when you reopen the options menu.
  • Reduced enemy dodge and block scaling, slightly increased enemy hit point scaling.

Hopefully I can get some more work done today and push that out. I spent this morning starting on a Linux build of the game, hoping to get a build that would run on Steam Deck. It looks like this is going to be a pretty big undertaking, and I'll probably have to pause it until I finish some other things.

Daily Login Rewards: Players will now receive daily 24 hour login bonuses! Earn dragon scales equal to 3x the number of consecutive days you've logged in, up to one week! 7 Days!

Steam Achievements: A new Steam achievement has been introduced for players who accumulate at least 1000 dragon scales.

More Immersive Sounds: The audio experience in Mythrel is now even richer! We've added multiple new sound effects in the lobby, during battle preparation, and for dragon scale-related events.

Windowed Fullscreen Mode: Players now have more flexibility with their viewing options. Alongside the existing fullscreen and windowed resizable modes, we've introduced a windowed fullscreen mode.

Card Balancing: We've fixed the issue of decks containing multiple life-cost cards, including card set numbers ETR-109, ETR-115, and ETR-63. Look forward to a more balanced realm match for Vortex and Gauntlet realm modes in this update.

Dragon Scale Bazaar: You can now spend your Dragon Scales in the new Dragon Scale Bazaar, some new cosmetic items are available to show off to your friends (Avatar Frames), some Exotic frames are reserved for only the elite. These display within in-realm matches over your Origin Win Avatar Level Frame. There are many more new cosmetic items coming in future updates, stay tuned!

Vortex RealmPopup: The popup for Vortex realm matches has been fixed for smoother gameplay.

You can now purchase Dragon Scales again from the Digital Shop or earn them from Gauntlet realms.

Login Screen UI: We've enhanced the user interface of the login screen. Now, on all platforms including Steam, there is a visible cursor indicating the active input box.

Gwyn The White Dragon: The card name text has been adjusted for better formatting in-realm.

Card Dragging Mechanics: We've improved the user interaction with the cards. The issue with cards sticking to the cursor during dragging has been partially fixed. Now, cards will animate and return to their original hand positions, providing a more intuitive and playable experience. More to this will come in future updates!
