Wargroove 2 - Keevahh
Ahoy mateys!

I’m Hassan, the Narrative Designer on Wargroove 2! I’ve been responsible for expanding Aurania and the events happening within it since the first Wargroove. I’ve also led the charge in building the journeys of the new Commanders and factions we’ll meet in Wargroove 2!

When we revealed Wargroove 2 back in March, we also introduced the latest Commander to the Wargroove roster: Nadia, a notorious pirate known to her enemies as Captain Firebird.



About Nadia

Hailing from the Saffron Isles, Nadia leads a formidable crew of pirates who are feared for their ruthless raids and plundering of the islands surrounding Aurania. During Wargroove 2’s campaign you’ll get acquainted with Nadia’s crewmates, including the wanted men Janjak “The Ripper”, and the grinning devil Aki the “Akuma”.

Nadia and her crew often run afoul of the Heavensong Navy, who have several bounties out for Nadia and her rivals. But despite Heavensong’s bravado, they are still to this day terrified at the sight of the pirates’ skull and crossbones flag -iIt wasn’t long ago after all that Heavensong’s previous Emperor was killed by an army of undead skeletons.

While some commanders might prefer to stay back and let their armies do the dirty work, Nadia fearlessly charges into battle, wielding her signature flamethrower and striking fear into the hearts of her enemies, who believe she can command the sea itself.



Groove

Nadia's Groove revolves around her flamethrower, which becomes increasingly powerful as it charges up. At tier 1, it can deal significant damage to a few enemies in close proximity. However, once fully charged, it becomes an unstoppable force, leaving a trail of scorch marks and burn damage in its wake.

Playing as Nadia requires a strategic approach, balancing the risks of putting her on the frontline with the rewards of her devastating attacks. But for those who are up for the challenge, she is an exciting and formidable addition to the Wargroove 2 roster.



Fun fact: Before Nadia had a flamethrower, she had a pet parrot! While we would have loved to keep this addition, once the flamethrower came into play we found Nadia had too many moving elements for the parrot to stay feasible. We miss you, dear parrot!



But while the parrot is no more, you might have already caught glimpses of Nadia’s pet battlepig named Nufnuf! 🐷 Pigs are basically the same as having a pet dog, right? Maybe we’ll share more on Nufnuf in a full Pirate Faction blog deepdive!

Super Adventure Hand - DevM Games AB
Continuing on my plan to do more regular updates here is this weeks and it’s an exciting one.
I’ve been busy working on my levels, tweaking old ones and optimizing Super Adventure Hand further.

The exciting part is that late on Wednesday / Thursday (depending on where you are) I will be releasing a new updated demo. This will have lots of new tweaks, fixes, squashed bugs and a brand new level to play!
There is also one other addition but I won’t spoil the surprise, you’ll just have to check it out and let me know what you think!

Super Adventure Hand will also make an appearance at the Guerrilla Collective so tune into the stream to check it out on Wednesday!

New Land Management!

*Waves her hand* It's me again, Horie! Did you guys miss me?

Last month we shared a sneak peek of land management, and this month I would like to reveal it in full.



Land management comes with new design structures, and the in-game story has also been adjusted to reflect the mechanic.

Previously, you simply took over the land with a duty to build buildings and keep your town prosperous. While we had the general concept down, we also had the feeling that we could do better. We're always asking ourselves, "would our players enjoy this?" That's how our big update for land management was born.

We've added land levels, new buildings, and stories around each milestone as you make progress during your lordship. Our goal was to integrate it seamlessly into the game.




In summary:

• You gain lordship of the land during the story, but the game will not force you to take an active part in land management. Of course, skipping the mechanic means you will miss a lot of side stories, items, and fun! Land management is like a big side quest with tons of mini features and stories.

• New first impression of your land when you first gain lordship. The town is completely destroyed, and its reconstruction is split into a series of levels. :3

• "I want to build!" We heard you loud and clear, which is why you now have full control over the building process. Previously you were locked into placing buildings in specific regions, now you can place buildings wherever you want. Every town will have a unique look based on the player's design. :3

• Land management levels will unlock new types of buildings, along with people, stories, and quests.



Each building has a unique role, for example when you build a farm or herb garden, you will receive an extra ingredient each time you visit your land per in-game chapter.

Guess what will happen when you build an Onsen?



Your personal maid, picked at the start of land management, will guide your adventures in construction. Pay attention to who you choose, because each of maid has a unique personality and brings something different to the game :3

Dear Shapelab Community,

Over the past few days we have been reading your messages about the new account registration process. We would like to say thanks to anyone who reached out and voiced their concerns, and also to all of you who supported us despite the changes. Some of you have been with us for years now, and you are very valued by us, so we didn’t mean to cause disappointment and we apologize for the trouble.

We have decided to remove the mandatory account registration. When prompted to create an account, you can click on ‘skip login’ to use Shapelab without logging in. It will remain as an option, in case you want to receive emails from the Shapelab team about updates, helpful tutorials and other exciting content (if you opt in). We hope you will choose to stay in touch with us this way, as it makes direct communication easier.

For those of you who registered and don’t want to keep your Shapelab account, please send us an email to support@shapelabvr.com and we will delete it. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Our aim is to provide the best customer support, and not to take advantage of any personal data! This is the main reason we introduced (a now optional) login and user account system. Up until now, we were not able to communicate with you about anything directly, including updates or personalized assistance, etc., and now we would like to improve in this regard. We understand that some of you have concerns and therefore we make it optional, rather than mandatory.

It is also important to highlight that we will not ask our legacy users to pay a monthly fee for a product that you have already acquired as a one-time purchase. Additionally, we have no plans to stop selling Shapelab under the current one-time payment model in the foreseeable future. We believe that introducing any new payment method should require a new product version.

As we previously mentioned, we do have exciting plans for future versions of Shapelab (such as business, education plans) and the launcher is needed for this as it allows for downloading, managing versions and providing a user-friendly interface for launching Shapelab in different versions. It will also include communication tools in the future, like built-in contact forms, notifications, and helpful links which make for a smoother user experience.

Please note that the launcher only pops-up once when launching the app and stays on your Windows tray. It should barely use any memory and should not have any effect on your PC’s performance. Should there be a performance issue with it, please reach out to us.

Although signing in is now an option, not a requirement, we still want to emphasize that data collection complies with international regulations and our privacy policy. The only non-anonymous data we have access to is the information you provide (with only the email being mandatory) and limited data on login dates. Our main focus remains anonymous in-app data related to monthly active users, median playtime, average playtime, and other relevant metrics across different timeframes.

We hope that those of you who felt uneasy with the changes will now be able to explore the new features in the update! Please let us know your thoughts and if you previously left a negative review, please reconsider it in case your concerns have been addressed.
