- Added a new checkbox for disabling AI trains to boost performance (both timetable and expert mode)
- Waiting passengers are now despawned if you are more than 1000 m away from the station
- Moving cars are despawned if you are far away
- Removed collisions of several objects that are far away from the rails

Rome is calling, will you answer? The Return of Rome DLC is now available for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition on PC! This DLC offers an incredible 17 civilizations, 3 new campaigns, a new game mode, plus an additional civilization (the Romans) added to the base game.

Inspired by the 1998 expansion for Age of Empires “The Rise of Rome”, the new Return of Rome expansion delivers familiar and brand new content for both established and new players.




Return of Rome is a completely new type of DLC for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, bringing classic Age of Empires gameplay, style and key experiences as a brand-new self-contained experience. When launching Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, simply select the Return of Rome icon on the Main Menu to transition your game into the Return of Rome DLC.


Purchasing Return of Rome will also grant you access to the bonus Romans civilization while playing in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition mode. The Romans will begin as a civilization for single player and unranked lobbies, then graduate to ranked play in the near future.


Included in Return of Rome are all 16 original Age of Empires civilizations from the Assyrians to the Yamato, allowing players to get to grips with the civilizations that started the Age of Empires journey.


Joining the ranks as the newest ancient civilization will be the Lac Viet. The Lac Viet is a fast-paced archer civilization from ancient Southeast Asia that will be exclusive to Return of Rome.



We’re also introducing 3 brand new campaigns created specifically for Return of Rome: Sargon of Akkad (Sumerians), Pyrrhus of Epirus (Macedonians) and Trajan (Romans). With new missions to tackle and stories told through the familiar AoE II: DE style, you’ll be able to live more moments from history.

The D3 Game Mode will challenge players with a new way to play. D3 is an homage to a fan favorite rule set, made popular in the Age Vietnamese professional scene, that is now fully integrated into the game.  This rule set reduces rush tactics and allows players to start their early game more robustly, only allowing fighting with a single unit until entering the Bronze Age, ensuring players reach later Ages for equal battles.  This rule set also bans walls and towers, making for exciting match ups later in the game.

Welcome to the First Dev Blog!
In todays Dev Blog we are going to show you how our Shop System works.




In the Main Menu, a new Button will appear called "Store". When clicking on this Button, you will come to a New Level where you can Buy things with In-Game Currency.
The Shop Level is not a Widget, it is a Level where you can go around. Thats cool isnt it?

In the Shop Level, go to the Shop Merchant to access the Store. A Widget will appear that looks like this:




Well of course the Black Color will be removed in the Game. But we dont want to tell you to much. So Stay tuned!




The In-Game Currency is a Basic System and is easy to collect. Every Level you finish in the Backrooms, we will award you some Coins. If you find Easter Eggs you even get more Points. Right now, points are easy to collect and we might change that in the Future. If we add more Stuff in the Shop we might also give you the Chance to Buy Coins with Real Money. Stay Tuned!



When the Game Releases, there are only a few things in the Shop. We will expand this with Future Updates. With Version 1.0 you can buy a Gamemode in the Shop, 1 Feature, Easter Eggs and more.
As we said we will expand this and maybe some things will be added during the Development. So Stay Tuned!

There's plenty to explore with the return of this fun-filled holiday. Armed with a bucket of snowballs at your side, get ready to pelt your favorite NPCs with snowballs to see their hysterical reactions and collect Frank's special holiday steam achievement in his funny seasonal side quest!

If you missed our post on the House Party - Halloween Holiday Pack, we explained that we hadn't expected either of these seasonal events to be so loved by players. But, many of you requested for us to keep them around permanently, and we wanted to do that for you!

Since these events weren't originally built to be in the game full dash time, we had to essentially completely rebuild both of them so they could be in the game permanently.

We didn't want to compromise our normal development, so we tried to keep up our original planned pace and prepare these two seasonal DLCs alongside our original plans. Of course, this took a bit longer than we expected, and these events have permanently dropped at an odd time of the year, but we hope you're happy to finally see them back for good!

What did the full restructuring of these two seasonal DLCs include?
The DLCs are optional and won't bloat your base game if you never plan to play or install them
You can toggle on and off the DLCs if you ever don't feel like playing the Halloween or Winter content
We insured that merging the DLCs with house party wouldn't create any major bugs or issues that would impact the short or long-term health of the base game
And, most exciting, we future-proofed the DLC so more content can be added in future updates!



As we mentioned with the House Party - Halloween Holiday Pack, you won't see any gameplay or content changes or new cosmetics in this DLC yet, but we have plenty more planned to come in the future.

We've also laid down a framework while restructuring both of these DLCs that will allow us to add a brand new free feature for all players. It is super exciting, and something many of you requested in our Future Of House Party Feedback Form. We can't wait to share it with you!

And, speaking of, now that both of these awesome seasonal DLCs are finally released, we have so much on the horizon.

The release of the House Party - Detective Liz Catz in a Gritty Kitty Murder Mystery Expansion Pack is right around the corner, there are exciting new updates feature updates coming in our roadmap, and, toward the end of the year, we plan to release the House Party - New Content Pack, featuring two new characters from the House Party Universe!
