We hope you've been enjoying your time with Hadean Tactics! Just wanted to say hi and provide an update on what's been keeping us busy lately.
Firstly, we have been working on the controller support and console port. It's been a challenging process and has required a great deal of our time and attention. Good news is we're approaching the final stages for the controller support and soon it will be available on the beta branch. We will share another announcement here as soon as it's up.
We've also been preparing the game's texts for translation. As said before, we will initially be localizing to Simplified Chinese, German, and Brazilian Portuguese, and we plan to gradually add more languages as time goes on.
We also want to give you a heads up that the price of Hadean Tactics will be increasing soon, before the 1.0 release. We've added a ton of content and value since the beginning of Early Access, so we believe the new price will reflect that.
Last but not least - from May 14th until May 21st, you can grab Hadean Tactics at a 25% discount. This is a great opportunity to dive into the game if you haven't already.
As a reminder, if you want to get the most immediate news and updates from us, you can join our Discord. We have an amazing group of players there who share strategies, discuss updates, and help the game grow.
Thank you all for your continued support and patience. We're very excited to show you what's coming with the 1.0!
If you thought the other updates were small, this one's so small it doesn't even have the last paragraph. This is a fix for cases where the backup save isn't corrupted, but also isn't a valid save file which can happen if it's been edited using an external program. Fingers crossed this should finally for real for real be the end of the save data issues, but if you're STILL having issues where you can't start the game please let us know on our discord.
With this new update the old multiplayer system was removed (using IP / Port or VPN), and is now completely replaced by Steam's multiplayer system. You can create a server normally (without the need to set up port, password, etc.) and you can connect to any friends that are currently playing the game online.
(there are no means to connect to random strangers, you need to be friends on Steam to play together)
Other than that, I focused on fixing some game breaking bugs, and some smaller ones too.
Full change Log:
- GAMEPLAY CHANGES: . Multiplayer now works through Steam Networking system . Multiplayer is played by joining your Steam friend's lobby (there's no matchmaking or server list for now) (the old system using public IP's has been removed)
. Maximum stamina drains slower . Now maximum stamina is what determines your sprinting speed . Toxic damage was nerfed . Dodging works against boss melee attacks
. Added option to change name on lobby screen . Enabled ultrawide options . Replaced pictures of Nazi officer and Soviet tank
- BUG FIXES: . Fixed zombies quickly dealing multiple hits really fast . Fixed zombies flying in the air in multiplayer . Fixed Riot Boss spawning inside floor for clients on multiplayer . Fixed player name not changing on SinglePlayer . Fixed accidental vaulting over obstacles (now you have to press forward to do it) . Fixed errors when loading corrupted save files, that would get you stuck on a grey screen . Fixed "rotate item" not translating on inventory . Removed unclosable black box (that used to display game errors)
Changes since last playtest (May 3rd), which will be documented later:
- Fixed wrong "Low karma" status when a player just joined the server; - Players will now correctly leave pre-death state when round ends; - Doctor's death no longer needs to be confirmed publicly to disable pre-death state; - Clue delivered sound will now be pitched up with more clues delivered; - Fixed incorrect max health for players resuscitated by Doctor; - Added missing Doctor resuscitation game events; - Fixed instances for stats menu not updating in real time; - Self voice icon will draw over all hud elements; - Negative score stat is now possible; - Doctors can no longer revive zombies; - Players who have already been resuscitated can no longer be resuscitated again; - Detective flag pole is no longer removed when a player gets revived as a Zombie; - Several code optimizations; - Player message when Doctor tries to resuscitate a person that can no longer be resuscitated; - Updated role selection algorithm to be random and fair at the same time; - Fixed broken round end stats (wins number, correct/incorrect kills); - Fixed incorrect "wrong victim" sound origin (when you check a body of a teammate you just killed as Innocent); - Fixed nade duplication glitch by restricting players from dropping primed nades;
# Fixing the issue of UI malfunction after forcing resolution and aspect ratio changes To address the problem of UI crashing when some players require forced changes to resolution and aspect ratio, we propose a solution. Currently, the game functions properly after these changes, but some UI imperfections remain, I will try to fix it in the future.
PS: If IdleShowOff can somehow bring you funny,Please give it a good review on STEAM that will help more gamer for join this carzy party :)
In the last few days, we have worked tirelessly to make sure that there aren't many bugs hindering the gameplay. Of course, we couldn't fix everything we wanted because of the size of our team (two people), but we ensured that it was possible to play the entire story from start to finish. But the game still needs a lot of work to give it the proper shine that it deserves. Therefore we wish to release our title as early access, and we promise to update the game so that it runs without issues and has all the content we wanted it to have.
We also wish to show some gameplay directly from the game
