The first of four ExileCon Qualifier events starts in less than 24 hours on May 4th, 2PM PDT! Be sure to join us at http://twitch.tv/pathofexile to check out all the action, which will be shoutcasted by community streamers ZiggyD and RaizQT!
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're participating in the event, please make sure that your Path of Exile account is linked to your Twitch account. You can do this by logging into your account on the website, then clicking here.
In each of these events, players will compete to be the first to kill Kitava in Act 5 in a Standard Solo Self-Found fixed seed environment. While this is not a Hardcore Event, players will incur a penalty upon death where they will not be able to move until a one-minute period has lapsed.
The qualifier events are PC only.
To join the qualifier event, click "Join" in the bottom right corner of the character select screen. Registrations for the event will open 30 minutes before the event starts at 1:30PM PDT.
The first player to kill Kitava in each event will receive the following:

Rules to Qualify:
You must connect your Path of Exile account to Twitch and stream your participation (on the linked account) for the whole event. If we can't watch any portion of your streamed entry, you are not eligible to win.
If you win one of the qualifier events, you are not eligible to win another.
If for some reason one of the event winners is not able to come to New Zealand, their ExileCon tickets, accommodation and flights will transfer to the person who achieves the next fastest time in any event. They will still receive their microtransactions but the other prizes will be transferred to the next eligible person.
You must abide by Path of Exile's Terms of Service and Twitch's Terms of Service
Unsportsmanlike conduct at any time in the leadup to ExileCon may result in you being disqualified from the event
Past and present Grinding Gear Games employees are not eligible to win prizes in these events.
Over the next couple of days we will be making a number of Balance and Quality of Life improvements to the game to make it more accessible, we thank you for your patience while we work on these edits.

We understand that a number of users have been frustrated at the intense difficulty of EdgeLords, which was designed to be an intense boss rush where every battle was a photo-finish. But this steep learning curve, combined with a lack of QoL features such as knowing a deck's composition or what cards are currently discarded makes the experience feel too difficult.

another new feature is the recording of weapon statistics. In the Weapon Stats menu you can see how many shots you have fired with each weapon, how many hits, headshots, K/D statistics etc.
Now a few insights into a new map. There will be some more detailed information about this tomorrow.
A little less to see today because I didn't have enough time for it.
In DEMO VERSION 0.8.2876 we have fixed a few bugs that I'm sure will help smooth out players' early experience a bit.
Continuing After Finishing Demo: If you complete the demo, you are no longer able to select Continue. You'll need to start a new game. This is to prevent a bug that was taking players back to a save before the demo end slide, breaking all sorts of conditionals. In the main release, you'll have multiple save slots so you can create multiple characters and save scum to your heart's content.
UI Breaking When Swapping Between Controller/Keyboard: In the previous demo build, when you swapped between controller and keyboard in the middle of gameplay, UI would fail to recognize the switch and show keyboard controls always. This should no longer happen with version 0.8.2876.
Volume Sliders: Volume was "aggressive" in its sliders, going to basically zero volume when you got halfway. Users obviously expect the slider to go from 0 to 100, not -100 to 100, even if the game was still playing sounds that no human ears can detect (kidding). This is fixed too.
Additionally, you now have the option to use spacebar when confirming conversation options and submitting stories. People love spacebar. And our game is about space. It only made sense to put it to better use, especially for WASD + Mouse faithful.

- zombots in dungeons now scale twice as fast - removed physics from pickups, should fix most issues - corrected upgrade for shotgun from "pierce" to "knockback" - added upgrade to heavy metal to increase "reverse time" - trait loot window no longer throws nullref error (breaking the game) - tweaked colliders to prevent enemies from getting stuck on them - fixed knockback - added a delete save function. The old save will be saved as .old. To delete your save click and hold with your mouse, on the version number in the options menu!
