Hi friends!

We're back with another development update! Full game production continues to go smoothly! We're currently working on the final chapter of the game hehe. Here's a few things we've been working on:

NexusBoy
NexusBoy is an item you'll be able to get in the game that serves as a portable Music Player and Arcade! Its design is inspired by the Gameboy Color! You'll be able to listen to all your favorite tunes from the OST that you've unlocked and the Arcade will allow you to access previously visited Network Dive Areas! We've added a timer for each stage so you can speedrun to your hearts content! We think it's possible to beat each stage in under a minute!









Backer Murk Designs
We've started reaching out to our Murk Slayer Tier Backers to collaborate and come up with several Murk Designs that will be added to the game! There's a ton of components to consider when designing and implementing a Murk so we decided to tackle backer Murks first so we can get a head start on setting those up! Next on the list, In the coming weeks we plan to reach out to our NPC & Legend Tier backers to create your NPC designs! Without further adieu, here's official concept arts for the Backer Murks!

The Witch of Fern Island - IssyBee
Hello witches,

The first batch of updates is now available. It’s the beginning of many updates you can expect over the course of Early Access.

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to run in an incorrect resolution
  • The Hedgemole will now spawn every 3-4 days
  • Removed unusable items from the clothing store
  • Fixed an issue with serialization that could cause bees to not respawn
  • Fixed a rare issue that could cause a soft-lock in the tutorial
  • Fixed a spot on the water in the cave where a player could accidentally drown
  • Adjusted CloudSave settings; the game should now launch with correct settings on Steam Deck
  • Fixed an issue that could cause some amulets to work incorrectly
  • Updates to navmesh, to make sure the player won't get stuck
Improvements:
Reduced Stamina cost for all actions as follows:
  • sowing seeds from 5 to 1
  • watering from 5 to 2.5
  • hoeing from 5 to 3.5
  • using an axe, mining pick and the shovel from 5 to 4
  • reduced the durability of digging spot from 20 to 15
  • reduced the durability of Hedgemole mounds from 40 to 20
Other improvements
  • Slightly reduced the durability of stumps and boulders on the farm
  • Adjusted Stamina required for swimming. Now Stamina isn't used for the first 30 seconds, and with a full bar the player can swim for a minute
  • Added a new item: an amulet that increases maximum Stamina, left behind by the previous Witch. Look near your house!
  • Improved Dree AI, they will no longer become unresponsive. Additionally, animals who were unresponsive on the Steppes will now move
  • Changed ingredients for Dumplings recipe
  • Improvements to lightning in the World Map
  • Improved view distance on Steppes
  • Changed quest text in "I believe I can fly" to be less vague
  • Increased the size of Morel mushrooms
New features
  • Added 5 new farmer's mixtures, obtainable on the farm
  • Added a new visual effect while talking with the Witch Guardian
  • Added particles for better visibility on interactable plants that can be picked up
  • Added a Quick Menu (TAB) tutorial
  • Added a "loss of save data" warning for players who quit the game during the day
  • Added a "loss of save data" warning when going to sleep on a new game, if the player already has a save from a different playthrough
  • Added information for the player to eat food after reaching 0 Stamina
  • Added new blueprints to the Witch house
  • Added more digging spots next to Abrill’s house

We hope these changes will make your stay on the Fern Island more comfortable. Rest assured that your feedback is always heard, and is an important part of our workflow for future updates.
