After two years of early access, TasteMaker is now finally fully released! I’m very grateful for all the support and feedback I received during early access. As mentioned in an earlier blog, I will continue to support TasteMaker, but the updates will probably be smaller and less frequent as I will also be starting on my next game soon.
The full release of TasteMaker comes with a number of exciting updates, and the game will be discounted by 40% this week. If you haven’t had a chance to play TasteMaker yet, this is a great opportunity.
Translations
Translating the game into multiple languages has been a much requested feature since the game launched in early access. This update finally introduces translations into 5 languages: German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and Dutch. More languages might follow in the future.
Color Picker in Item menu
While it has been possible to change the color of a lot of items for a while now, I often received the feedback that it would be better to have the option to change the color of an item before placing it. Having to individually click each item and change its color after placing it could become a bit tedious. This update finally introduces the ability to change colors before you place the item.
Dynamic Icon Generation
With the new item menu color picking tool, it also made sense that icons for the item would dynamically change to the selected color. I implemented a system that will generate these icons. This has the added benefit that icons will be a bit more consistent.
Customizable Wall and Floor Colors
To expand the ways in which you can decorate and customize your restaurant, you can now also change the colors for a lot of floors and walls.
Wall Improvements
Previously, wallpapers would not always wrap around corners correctly. I made an effort to improve this. While it is still not perfect, I think that the new version is a big improvement.
New Floors, wallpapers and windows
To further expand the decoration options, I added 2 new floors, 2 wallpapers and 2 new windows.
Small Changes
Fixed wallpaper decor rating not being applied
Fixed not being able to buy wallpaper while having enough money
Fixed memory leak while generating employee icons
Improved the cheat menu UI
Rebalanced scenario’s
Made various performance improvements
Fixed returning of cutting board bug when using zones
Improved review rating icon
Fixed pans being counted as cabinet content while on stove

Now let's take a closer look at some points.
SACRED GROVE
Sacred Grove is part of the Magic Forest which is guarded by Angalar's magicians. This place is a small glade surrounded by forests and rocks. Fiona the Fairy lives in this grove, and she definitely has some tasks for young mercenaries! You can travel to Sacred Grove through the portal which is located in eastern part of the Endless Desert.
QUEST SYSTEM
Quests is one of the main features in any role-playing game. Quests in Hero's Story have different types and difficulty levels. For example, in one quest you need to scout some area and return back, and in other quest - defeat mighty boss and gather the loot. Brave adventurers will be rewarded with gold, equipment and glory points!
NEW ENEMIES AND MORE
A lot of new content has been added to the game in this update. These are new characters, new items, new objects and places on the game levels. There are also two new types of enemies - Young Wolves, which are found in the forests and can cause bleeding with their bite, as well as Sandbugs, which are heavily armored and have a small chance of inflicting poison. Get your antidote ready!

Marines, learn how your feedback improved USC: Counterforce
Many of you played and enjoyed our last demo from the February Steam Next Fest and for that, we are extremely grateful. Some of you took the time to provide your deeply valuable feedback to us, and we listened!
1/ Tutorial
You were many to report that our old tutorial was not clear and accessible enough. We agreed with you and decided to completely rework the tutorial and overall onboarding.
This brand-new tutorial will make it way easier and more enjoyable to learn about the many different aspects of our game, giving you more time and a more focused experience to learn everything you need to.
WHAT CHANGED: The tutorial and overall onboarding have been entirely reworked
2/ Balance and fixes
Since balancing such a complex game require a lot of experimentation, your feedback in that regard was essential. It will greatly help us in making USC: Counterforce a great but fair and fun challenge.
WHAT CHANGED: Improved + still improving the overall balance of weapons and enemies
3/ Shoulder Camera
The shoulder camera is a beloved feature among our community and we’re really glad you loved it. However, some of you told us that the camera moved too much for your taste and that some of the smaller enemies were almost impossible to see. We think you were right and decided to make some changes that will be ready for the Early Access release.
WHAT WILL CHANGE: the shoulder camera will have better behaviour and will do contextual focuses.
4/ Key bindings - camera
For the last demo, we only had a few binding options to slide or zoom the camera. Now our game provides a lot more options to give every player access to their favorite bindings.
WHAT CHANGED: camera movement bindings added
5/ Bloom/HDR
Some of you wanted to have the option to adjust the Bloom/HDR intensity. We added several intensity settings to make the game looks good on every screen possible.
WHAT CHANGED: intermediary settings were added, instead of a simple on/off option
Thank you very much to every player who took the time to gather and share their feedback through our form, on our social medias or our Discord. Stay tuned for upcoming playtests! ☄️
