Shardpunk - bryqu
Hi - I've managed to identify and fix a potentially game-breaking bug. It should not happen often, but still.

1.0.24 PATCH NOTES
  • Fixed an issue with the game behaving broken if somehow a character has entered the shelter while still being affected by the support bot's support aura. Prevented such a situation from happening from now on. The faulty game state will still have characters in combat showing the “affected by bot’s support mode” trait, but it will disappear after the next combat or after the next time they leave the bot’s aura.

Heyho, you funky sexy costume connoisseur!
Finally, Aelia gets to wear and see her favorite costumes, too!
This concludes the spooky costume episode - man, that took a long time. I got sidetracked with the new episodes a bit...
The next episodes will come quicker again and are themed around a retro game I played a while ago and really enjoyed... In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I made three episodes out of it 😄
Check out the 'next update' section ingame, and maybe you can guess what the game that inspired me is?

New Stuff:
* A new girl for the Spooky Costume Contest - Aelia!
* Two endings for Aelia

Fixed:
* Small bugs in the gallery most of you hopefully didn't even encounter
* UI is back to the right position in the quests
* Heart counter bug: Quest levels should give the correct amount of hearts now (thanks, Belial4PC!)
* Savestate reset (thanks, Sjoebidoea!)

See you soon!
Stay funky,
Dez
REAVER Playtest - crunkz // REAVER
Bruh!
Dawn Apart - HustleCrowe1
Allright Pioneers, please join us in the center square of our little space colony for another round of (more or less) important announcements! In this week's Weekly Apart update we want to further flesh out the colony sim aspect of Dawn Apart as we are currently working on a character viewer that tracks the wants and needs of the first humans to set foot on the planet Aurora!

But first we want to give a special shout out to YouTube and Twitch partner TotalXclipse for including Dawn Apart in his amazing "TOP Factory Games You NEED To Checkout In 2023" video - it's really an honor to be in the company of those other great automation games. Check out the compilation below, make sure to follow TotalXclipse and while you're at it leave a comment, like or follow on our social media channels as well!

The Human Connection
Since Dawn Apart will not merely be a factory but also a space colony sim, it is crucial that players establish real connections with individual pioneers. Early on we decided that the people colonizing Aurora would not be generic, faceless avatars but individuals with unique looks and personas that you will care for (or, depending on their actions, perhaps despise). Because the in-game characters are rather small - especially when contrasted with the huge machinery and factory building - and hard to relate to on that scale, we came up with a solution.

As hinted at in our previous post about designing the UI for Dawn Apart, we have dedicated the lower right corner of the screen to a character viewer that, with a click on each respective colonist on the map, gives you a more detailed profile of his or her look and personal stats. In part inspired by the first X-COM game this preview includes a voxel model of the character (that will ultimately be animated and reflect the activity the colonists is currently pursuing), their weapon/item loadout as well as an status update detailing sleeping, eating, health and bathroom habits over the last 12 in-game hours.

Up close and personal
Keep in mind that this is still far from being the final version and a voxel/pixel artist will revamp it completely once all the systems have been set in place. The character in this case was, as a test, designed by the great @DanielWienerson who is known as the creator of Voxel Doom. Future iterations of characters will consist of modular parts such as hair, clothes, and other facial parts that are then randomized and rearranged.

Adding this 'Pioneer Detail View Controller' makes a huge impact in terms of further humanizing the colonists. Along with giving them means to express what is on their mind by displaying dialogue and thoughts and an intricate system of interconnected needs and wants (Rimworld is the obvious source of inspiration here), we hope to (literally) give our colony a human face.

Let us know what you think in the comments and see you next week! And don't forget to join our Discord server if you want to be among the first players to check out our demo!
Medusa VR - Tomis Fras
There's been a slight delay with the current build of the VR Film, but rest assured it's all in order to make the experience as streamlined as possible. I look foward to sharing this experience with y'all and stay tuned for the release :D

Reign of Guilds - Vatslav Verzhbitsky
Dear friends!

The time has finally come for PT#3 on Steam. It has taken us much longer than we expected. During this long wait that we spent fixing the serious issue from PT#2, we also addressed the feedback that had been given to us by the participants of previous playtests and tried our best to improve the graphics and UX.

The test is open:
We will host it using the Steam Playtest. It means that everyone applying will be granted access, be it before or during the testing session.

When you’ll be able to download the client:
from 17.00 (GMT+0) 21/04/2023, but access to the servers will be limited until the test begins. Players who did not delete the previous playtest's client will only need to download a patch.

The session will last for 14 days:
from 15:00 (GMT+0) 24/04/2023 until 24:00 07/05/2023.

Server:
It’ll be Normal. Participants from the Steam playtest will be on the same server as those who received the keys earlier.

Locations available:
Tutorial tavern, Rivulet Island, Daerkunn County;

Playtest vision:
The long duration of this test session is due to the introduction of Castle Sieges. It will take a lot of time for players to create guilds and prepare for them

Intermediate update:
Approximately in the middle of the playtest, we are going to release an intermediate update that will add Vocations. This will include a new vocational ability sorting system and open access to item crafting and enchanting.

On 24/04/2023 we will publish the patch note and a small FAQ regarding the approaching playtest.
