Since our Next Fest demo we've gathered tons of valuable feedback that helped us figure out which direction we should follow. After 2 months of hard work we are now ready to showcase you the result of it.
Out of hundreds of changes the most meaningful are tutorial overhaul and meta progression tweaks. Upon a popular request, we also changed the voice actor for Arx.
A brand new tutorial is designed to give you more time to familiarize yourself with each of the gameplay mechanics. It takes longer time but features more backstory, proper balance between exploration, fighting and spending time at headquarters.
With meta progression changes we had one goal in mind - instead of a grind to make you more powerful, we introduced a new buildings mechanic which unlocks specific units. This gives you more time to learn how to command your army and opens up new gameplay mechanics on the exploration map as you progress.
For the full list check out the huge changelog:
A revamped demo changes list
Meta progression changes:
Talents - each level grants you 3 talents to choose from, with only 1 that could be active at the time. The amount of available talents increases with successfully damaging the tower core. First perk is maxed out for free
Potions - the amount of potions allowed to be taken to the tower depends on the number of tower core damage attempts. At the start, 3 potions are allowed. At the beginning of the game 3 sets of potions are available, with each of them maxed out
Blessings - at the beginning of the game we can choose 2 patrons that will share a glimpse of their power
Buildings - instead of increasing the strength of buildings at the tower, they now allow you to unlock certain new units and enhance aspect abilities
[NEW] aspects - 1 out of 4 aspects can be active at a time. Each of them grants different bonuses, affecting our gameplay style. At the beginning of the game building of chosen aspects are made for free
Resources - reduced the number of resources from 4 to 2. Creation cubes and blessing gems will be now needed to enhance the headquarters

New content roadmap time! Episode 3 is still on its way with some slight changes.
Most importantly, May will now bring the first half of episode 3 with a new weapon, 5 new enemy types and new augments. The rest of episode 3 and the full 1.0 release will come in July. The full roadmap is below.
We appreciate everyone's continued support of Turbo! To stay up-to-date, you can also join the Turbo Overkill Discord.
This last week a whole lot of bugs were fixed - including inventory glitches, "ability uses" not being stored properly with trinkets, and others!
Even this weird bug where text bubbles were cut off was fixed!
So now that Netherguild is far more stable...
Next up, for a week to two weeks I plan on adding a handful of skills to the game for build variety, as well as the infrastructure for updating skill trees in existing saves when they get modified in updates, and some possible much needed re-balances. Might add some extra polishing and equipment too if time allows!
If you have ideas and suggestions for new skills you'd like to see on any of the current classes / backgrounds, feel free to share them as comments on this post or in the #brainstorming channel on the Discord! (:
Also, I'm never really away from bugfixing - But since Netherguild became a lot more stable, I am shifting my focus towards new content... for now. As always, if there's persistent bugs in the game that weren't fixed so far and you'd like to see fixed in the future, feel free to let me know in the bug reporting forum or via the Discord.
Thank you for reading and see you next update! -David
Dead by Daylight’s Tools of Torment Mid-Chapter is on the horizon, bringing the ASCENSION Tome, new Cosmetic Collections, and several gameplay balance updates. Here’s a glimpse of everything you can expect to see during the launch of this upcoming Mid-Chapter – which drops on April 18th and April 19th - starting with the reveal trailer below:
TOME 15: ASCENSION
Explore the stories of The Skull Merchant, Thalita Lyra, and Renato Lyra. Laugh in the face of otherworldly evil alongside the inimitable Ash Williams. Progress through the Rift and beyond, completing brand-new gameplay Challenges to unlock post-apocalyptic inspired Cosmetics and Charms. It’s all waiting in The Archives.
MEMORY MAKEOVER
Since The Archives first launched in 2019, the Dead by Daylight omniverse has expanded to include extended backstories for dozens of characters. The process has previously involved unlocking fragmented sections of a specific memory that forms a continuous narrative. Moving forward, we’ll be updating our approach. The ASCENSION Tome will now feature new VISUAL MEMORIES, in addition to the existing text-based format.
We hope you enjoy these new glimpses into the lives of Dead by Daylight’s many characters, beginning with the stars of the ASCENSION Tome: The Skull Merchant, Thalita Lyra, Renato Lyra, and Ash Williams.
NEW COLLECTIONS
Whether you’re enjoying a family dinner or hunting a human being, the Tools of Torment Collection has you covered with new Outfits for The Skull Merchant, Thalita Lyra, and Renato Lyra. Afterward, explore a post-apocalyptic Realm with the Wasteland Collection, featuring new Outfits for Felix Richter, Haddie Kaur, and The Knight.
Both Collections will be available in Dead by Daylight’s in-game store on April 18th, one day before the release of Tome 15: ASCENSION.
LIGHTS OUT
It’s been seven years since Dead by Daylight was released, and the game’s roster has grown considerably. As a result, some mechanics have begun to feel out of place. Moving forward, Flashlights will have no specific interactions with certain Killer Powers, meaning The Wraith, The Nurse, The Artist, and The Hag will no longer have to fear those beam-happy Survivors.
BALANCE UPDATES
This Mid-Chapter release features updates to existing Perks and gameplay mechanics. Several high-performing Perks for both Killer and Survivor have been adjusted: Dead Hard, Boon: Circle of Healing, Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Call of Brine, and Overcharge. We’ve also given a boost to a pair of lower-performing Perks, Overzealous and Gearhead, to increase their viability.
These changes should help increase overall build variety, while hopefully alleviating some of the lengthier games that have become increasingly dominant in recent months.
To heighten the impact of chases, we’ve also adjusted self-healing speeds and rebalanced all Survivor Med-Kit Items and Med-Kit Add-Ons to allow for a single heal before depletion (though select Add-Ons can stretch this to 2). This should ensure that injuries sustained during a long chase are not entirely undone within a matter of seconds.
Please note that we will be keeping a close eye on the overall impact of all gameplay and balance changes. For specific details on all Mid-Chapter gameplay updates, please refer to our official Dev Updates. The first , originally released during the PTB, includes Perk updates and more, while the second highlights the changes made after receiving feedback on the PTB.
We hope you enjoy discovering everything this exciting Mid-Chapter has to offer.

Hello starlight dreamers and extraterrestrial explorers! We have an exciting announcement to make! A new crew member has joined our Long Journey! We are pleased to introduce to you our truth seeker: Kamaria (she/they).
Kamaria Jelani is a descendant of the original Terraformer Dynasties, a slightly mythical history of being born of and coming from the stars. Despite her lofty origins and the expectations that come with them - specifically to lead - Kamaria is instead focused on and inspired by writing. Unfortunately, her passion is not only unappreciated but actively ridiculed by her parents. Her inherent charm and inquisitive nature lend themselves well to pursuits of journalism Will Kamaria find the truth she is seeking for?
Without further due, we introduce you to Kamaria:

Hey everyone, today we have a hotfix ready for you!
This hotfix focuses mostly on the Dedicated Servers. Yesterday we discovered a bug that was causing issues with the team balancing on the dedicated servers specifically. We were able to track it down, and hopefully have it fixed in this update!
We also have changed our versions that are shown in game, so going forward you will see "X.X.X" (0.1.1 for this patch), instead of the old versioning system of APR-19_B01.
Thanks for your continued support, and we hope to see you on the hunt soon! - Team MGH
These changes can be accessed on the test branch. To switch to this version:
Right click on Old World in your library, and hit properties, then navigate to the Betas tab and use the dropdown menu to switch from 'none' to the test branch.
