It’s finally here! Etheryn’s personal questline comes to a head with a voyage to the island of Dracia off the east coast in search of her fiendish evil sister!

This update is accompanied by a version bump to .6, and a level cap increase to 7 (out of a planned 10).

0.6.2 Patch Notes:

• You can now reach Level 7! This level comes with TWO new perks for each class — you’ll pick between one of the options when you level up, or when you switch classes if you’re already Level 7. There's a more thorough breakdown of all the new combat changes that go along with it on our blog here.
  
• If you encounter Gytha in the Frostwood after discovering Alissa’s whereabouts (and before leaving for Dracia), you can now confront her more properly. Might be for her own good that she not stay free…
  
• After having done Calise’s first quest, you can now head out on Etheryn’s personal quest ‘The Demon of Ice.’ Return to the Palace of Ice’s temple, where you normally meet Elthara, to catch a ride to the dungeon. This is a Level 7 quest.
  
• Before you get to the dungeon there’s a travel sequence where you can interact and potentially bone down with some new and some returning characters. Personally I suggest bringing Arona on the quest — she loves big boats and she cannot lie. If you have Ashe’s Mace, she’ll have some things to say during the dungeon too!
  
• The dungeon includes several new items, new obtainable powers (especially if you’re a Mirror Mage!), a new summon, and a bad end. There’s also up to two characters you can throw in your Wayfort’s dungeon if you want (and have built it, naturally).
  
• After having finished the quest, a certain Companion will be able to relieve a certain accursed problem she’s been having, which unlocks changes in all of her existing sex scenes and grants access to entirely new scenes.
  
• If said Companion is at negative Confidence or you upgrade your relationship at the end of the quest, you can optionally reapply said problem after talking to her post-quest for kinky fun.
  
• Etheryn, Daliza, and Livrea all have new or updated talks to reflect the events of RynQuest and the expedition to Dracia it entails.
  
• Lyric (Male or Female base) can be turned into a futa.
  
• Lyric has two new public sex scenes. These require 33+ libido and are accessible in populated areas, excluding the Frosthound itself, your Camp, and the Wayfort.
  
• Kitsunetsuki no longer requires the Fox Jewel to use, instead wielding the Fox Jewel increases its duration to 4 rounds.
  
• The Tail Whack power is no longer accessible to the PC.
  
• Ally summons will no longer de-summon between phases in 2 phase fights.
  
• There’s a new NPC in the Temple of Mallach after you’ve built it: Yusra! (By TheObserver)
  
• Yusra has several new talk scenes and six new sex scenes, including a Cait threesome. (By TheObserver)

In A Cat's Manor exploration will lead you into dark corners of the manor that are seldomly visited or maintained. These dark and damp areas act as a Petri dish that allows organisms to grow and flourish. Some of these organisms employee sinister tactics allowing them to infect more complex creatures and hijack their bodies turning them into walking zombies.




Once their bodies are hijacked, they are forced into a deathly spiral that serves only one function, to spread the spores and infect as many living creatures as possible. Some of the more evolved organisms will actively seek out higher places. Once perched, the wind will help further spread their spores over wider areas.




Navigating these dark areas pose a special kind of threat for our Cat. If you are not careful, and get prolonged exposure to spores, the Cat will eventually get infected. Increase infection rates are visually apparent as the growth of fungi tendrils increases all over the Cat's body. Eventually the infection reaches critically levels and the Cat's succumbs and dies, handing its body over to its zombified fate.




The zombified creatures are spread out in tight dark spaces in the manor, going about there mission of spreading the infection. However, in the furthest corners of the dark maze of tunnels you come across peculiar clustering of infected creatures. The air in these parts is very dense with spores. So dense that infection is alarmingly rapid and certain to kill within a few short seconds. Are they protecting something?




These are one of the many dangers you will face as you uncover the many secrets of the manor. But not everything is out to kill you. Sometimes a small act of kindness can make others fond of you.

Q: Why is there only voice acting for a few words or just an exclamation?
A: Due to budget constraints, we are not able to obtain readings from our wonderful, professional VAs for every single line in the game. However, all the lines that appear in the Rift are performed by our VAs.

Q: Why does this game play like a PowerPoint presentation?
A: The gameplay of Mohism: Battle of Words is based on Ace Attorney, a classic visual-novel adventure game - by no means a PowerPoint presentation! You will find plenty of riddles, spectacular special effects, engaging voice acting, stunning visuals and BGM...

Q: Is there any kung fu fighting in this game?
A: Mohism: Battle of Words is unlike typical wuxia games since our hero does not know martial arts. He can only rely on his wits and tongue to get out of tricky situations. Once you enter the Rift, you must rely on brain not brawn!

Q: Did you "borrow any elements" from Ace Attorney?
A: Yes, we did. We borrowed elements from detective games such as Danganronpa and Sherlock Holmes and incorporated our passion for wuxia, Young Justice Bao, and Di Gong An. The game is rich with Chinese elements, but the plotline is entirely original. Even players of Ace Attorney will find this game to be a breath of fresh air.

Q: What should I do if the game lags or freezes, the characters appear at the wrong time, or the dialogue box disappears?
A: If you experience lags, freezes, disappearance of the dialogue box or other similar issues, please try restarting the game and/or Steam before playing again. If the problem is not solved, you can try to load your latest save. If the problem persists, feel free to rant to us on the official Discord server.

Q: Why do I keep picking the wrong piece of evidence in the Rift?
A: The way to beat your opponents is to select the piece of evidence from the left slots that correspond with the problematic utterance. Any piece of evidence will have 1 to 3 lines of description that you should consider carefully. There is a penalty for wrong answers that leads to "Game Over" but the hero can be "revived" infinitely, so just keep trying. You may also select the difficulty "Enjoy the Story" to have a more pleasant experience and enjoy the storyline.

Q: What should I do if certain scenes are very laggy?
A: First try quitting other programs running on your computer. Next, try saving your progress and restarting the game. If your issue is still unresolved, take a video or screenshot of your screen and send it to our Discord server and we will do our best to assist.

Q: What can I do if I get an ending I don't like?
A: There are multiple possible endings. We advise you to save before an important choice. That way, you can experience different endings.

Q: Will the "Order of the Blade" arc from the demo be available to play?
A: The "Order of the Blade" arc was the first demo of Mohism: Battle of Words that had an independent storyline. We chose not to include it in the full gameplay since it wouldn't match the quality of our current game. If the revenue can sustain further development, we may re-vamp the "Order of the Blade" arc as a DLC chapter.
