Weekend special offer:
  • 30% discount on parts to the ship Archelon

Due to the combination of incredible dynamics and threat to enemies, Archelon is rightly considered a revolution in its role. This is a Federation guard frigate in a new interpretation. Stealthier due to its silhouette. Extremely dangerous to enemies thanks to a unique special module ‘Provocateur System’, increasing resistance to all damage types and active module ‘Radiation converter’ using all incoming EM damage to restore shields. And all this — without compromising performance or appearance.

Patch Notes

  • Added talent trees to slashing, bludgeoning, piercing, and archery skills. These can be found in the skills section of the inventory interface.
  • Added outpost islands and merchant ships. Note that this will change some islands that were there previously.
  • Added some new quests.
  • Added dagger weapons.
  • Blocking now mitigates 100% damage with most weapons if you have enough stamina.
  • You can now only close the dialogue window when the choice menu is visible in order to prevent premature closing right before dialogues complete.
  • The loot window no longer blocks using hotkeyed items while using keyboard/mouse. This is still blocked on the gamepad because the bindings are used to navigate the loot window.
  • Set the camera update speed to always update with the frame rate. This could potentially fix the issue some players were seeing where the camera would be very jerky while sailing a ship.
  • Added a sound to when you retrieve arrows.
  • Fixed bug where displayed weight value wouldn't update after transferring partial stacks to the ship storage.
  • lessened the leeway for a fishing bobber to be considered in the water, making it less likely that you can catch a fish when the bobber is on land.
  • Learning multiple recipes in quick succession will now show the recipe learned message for each one.
  • Damaged enemy health bars no longer remain slightly visible indefinitely.
  • Fixed nametags on four legged creatures bouncing around a lot.
  • Added sound when entering building doors.
  • The loot window now shows the name of the looted enemy.

  • Books now show their title when you are reading them.
  • Added a different sound when you land a critical hit.
  • Ships physics can now rock slightly side-to-side. This can be disabled in the options.
  • You no longer gain armor skill experience. This skill has been removed as it was originally implemented with the intent of there being multiple different armor types and associated skills.
  • Fixed a large number of typos.
  • Player's stamina regen now has a different in-combat and out-of-combat regen rate.
  • Opening loot containers in your inventory now shows the received items in a new interface to make it easier to see what you received.
  • You can now inspect items from the equipment interface.

Wildfrost - Superconsole
Hey folks! Here it is, the first proper dev update for Wildfrost 🎉

Firstly we want to thank you all for your support and responses to the game so far, we read all of your comments and feedback, even if we don’t have the bandwidth to reply to each one.

Balance & Bugs - What We’re Working On
As we mentioned in the Launch post, our first point of call is to address any initial bugs and quality of life changes. This also includes accessibility, which we would love to get more feedback on how we can make Wildfrost more accessible to all players! If you want to join the conversation, we’re on Discord and we’re also reading through all the Steam Forum comments.

We’re also looking to address the balance feedback we’ve seen, to give players more options, and allow for a smoother difficulty curve. We hope these changes will address some of the comments we’ve seen, while also allowing for a challenging experience for those who want it. This is something we’re actively working on resolving, and we’ll share more information about how this works in practice soon!

In the long term, we are planning to bring more content updates to Wildfrost based on what you’re enjoying and want to see more of, so let us know in the comments what you would like to see most! We’ll be sharing more of our content roadmap plans soon, but please bear with us as Wildfrost is being developed by a 2-person team!

Lost Region - Delraid

New news now! NNN!

Be sure to check the full weekly report following the link.

Shooting sound rework

We are aiming for a more realistic and immersive experience when shooting, reloading, and hitting targets and improving player awareness of the surroundings. Rework of long-distance shooting sound will help players determine the shooter's location more accurately. The new long-distance shooting sound will have a distinct echo and reverb effect, which will vary depending on the shooter's location and terrain. This will enable players to identify the direction of the shot more easily and react accordingly. This change is expected to make gameplay more challenging and exciting, as players will need to use their senses and instincts to survive in the game. Another significant addition to Lost Region's gun sounds is the effect of shooting inside concrete buildings or any structure that can reflect sound. It will apply the deafening effect that will last for a short period of time after firing a gun indoors. To avoid this, you might want to use silencers when shooting indoors.

Optimization

We've started a round of optimization to enhance the game's FPS and load speed. As the game continues to add new levels, optimizing streaming becomes crucial to maintain stable FPS and providing a seamless gaming experience. Our goal is to ensure that Lost Region runs smoothly on a variety of devices and configurations. The optimization process involved streamlining the game's code and reducing the load on the CPU and GPU. The optimization also ensures that the game will continue to run well as new content is added. Thanks to UE 5, it is much easier to optimize the game, and the performance has improved greatly, thanks to the new game engine version.

Have a shiny weekend, folks! ;)

Welcome to another of our Basic Builds guides for beginner-to-intermediate players. Each guide presents a suggested build and describes how its abilities work in tandem. You can try these out as-is, or use them as a starting point to create new builds of your own.

Characteristics

This build features the Nature Staff, a healing weapon located in the hunter tree that is characterized by its large area healing abilities and its thorns abilities that offer continuous damage.

Here’s the full breakdown!

Equipment and Skills Used

Adept’s Nature Staff
  • Thorn Growth
    • Your Q creates a field of thorns on the ground that applies charges to all enemies within every 0.5 seconds; it has a short cooldown and can be recast 3 times
  • Brambleseed
    • Your W places a line of seeds on the ground that will grow after a short time, throwing all enemies on top of it into the air; both these effects deal damage, the latter more so
  • Circle of Life
    • Your main ability heals up to 5 allies in a large radius around you; if enemies within that radius have at least 3 thorn charges on them, they take additional damage and are rooted for a short time
Adept’s Mage Cowl
  • Firebreath
    • Your Cowl has an offensive spell that briefly ignites enemies in a small cone in front of you
Adept’s Mercenary Jacket
  • Bloodlust
    • This jacket's active ability allows you to regain some health every time you auto-attack or cast a damage spell
Adept’s Soldier Boots
  • Rejuvenating Sprint
    • Your shoes’ active ability is a sprint that also heals you slightly
Adept’s Bag: Increases carry weight capacity

Adept’s Cape: Increases Energy and passive Energy Regeneration

Minor Poison Potion: Inflicts damage-over-time effect on targets and decreases their resistances for its duration

Pork Omelette: Increases your cast speed and cooldown rate, allowing you to use your abilities more frequently

Journeyman’s Riding Horse: Brings you swiftly across the map while adding more carrying capacity

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Fast clear speed
  • High sustain
  • Good for healing small PvE groups
  • Affordable
Cons:
  • No additional mobility besides boots spell
  • High standtime and cast time
  • Not suited to large-scale fights

Playstyle
  • Your Q-spell creates a field of thorns on the ground that repeatedly applies a charge to enemies within it. It can also be recast within three seconds up to three times. Using an auto-attack on an enemy within the thorns consumes them while dealing bonus damage.
  • Your W-ability places bramble seeds on the ground that shoot up after a short delay, launching enemies into the air and interrupting them. Its two damage instances allow for good synergy with the Mercenary Jacket.
  • You may change your W to Revitalize for tougher enemies. This will allow you to increase your sustain at the expense of some damage and crowd control.
  • Your E-spell is a large-area heal that can be used for group play. It has a strong synergy with Thorn Growth, as it roots all enemies that have at least 3 charges on them. It also deals some bonus damage.
  • The whole weapon kit can alternatively be used to heal groups, by switching the Q to Rejuvenation or Rejuvenating Flower and the W to anything other than Brambleseed.
  • The cowl has an additional damage spell that allows you to take down groups of enemies more quickly.
  • The jacket can be used to regain health. It is best used in combination with your W and E-abilities as they can hit multiple targets and apply lifesteal charges more quickly. Your Q does not trigger Bloodlust as it doesn’t deal direct damage. Auto-attacks are also advised while using this jacket.
  • Your boots offer a sprint ability that can regain a small amount of health quickly, while providing increased movement speed.
  • An enemy encounter should look something like this:
    • Stack multiple Thorn Growths and try to get all enemies inside the areas.
    • Use the W to keep them away from you or to interrupt their key abilities.
    • Cast your E when all enemies have multiple thorn stacks on them.
    • Use auto-attacks on the enemy you’re trying to finish off for additional damage.
    • When you drop to low health, use your jacket followed by Brambleseed and auto-attacks. You may also use your boots to create space and heal even more.
  • Energy can be an issue, so it’s recommended to use the energetic passive and auto-attack enemies in between cooldowns.
