Bloodhound's "First Day In Hell" just got better with the latest patch! The development team has been working hard to improve the game's overall experience, and we're excited to announce the release of our latest update.
Improved hitboxes for more accurate shot registration
Reduced difficulty level on "Easy" based on player feedback
Fixed issue with Field of View (FOV) for smoother and consistent visuals
We hope these changes make your "First Day In Hell" even more enjoyable. We're always looking for ways to improve the game, so please don't hesitate to share your feedback and suggestions with us. Happy hunting!
unfortunately we have to inform you that the servers for Schoolbreak.io will be shutting down permanently. Our server hoster (colyseus Arena) went bankrupt overnight and we are unable to move the servers to a new hoster.
The revenue generated by Schoolbreak.io has barely been sufficient to cover expenses for a while now. As a small development team, we also do not have the necessary resources to migrate and continue running the game's servers.
We are currently in contact with Valve to delist the game from Steam, and we hope to have this process completed as soon as possible.
We understand that this news will be disappointing for many of you, and we want to express our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We know that many of you have put a lot of time and effort into playing and enjoying Schoolbreak.io, and we are deeply saddened that we are unable to continue providing this experience for you.
Thank you for your understanding, and we hope that you will continue to enjoy playing other games on Steam.
Spring is in the air! Time to celebrate with eggs and pirates the classic combination.
The Spring Festival returns from today until April 16th. As in previous years, the Festival will be held in the area south of the Archaeology Guild, where you’ll be able to gather up Spring Tokens, take part in Clue Hunts, and battle the Giant Butterfly. Wait, what was that last one?!
Lost Easter Basket
For the duration of the Spring Festival, you’ll randomly receive maps to Lost Easter Baskets while going about your regular adventures – although you’ll have a higher chance to receive these elusive goodies while participating in the Spring Festival activities. You can also purchase maps with Spring Tokens.
Tracking down the Basket will give you a chance at the new Skilling Pet Bunny Ear Token, which lets you add adorable bunny ears to any of your skill pets! Other prizes include a colourful Easter Egg, or the Basket itself, plus two items from the following list:
Back in January, Redbeard Frank asked players to gather up keys, open his chest, and earn extra prizes. A fun time was had by all, but Frank reckons life could always be more funner, so he went back to the drawing board and came back with a bunch of new prizes!
We’ve also made some changes to make sure this event is more engaging than ever.
To start with, players will no longer use Keys, as they caused confusion over how and when the Chest would be available. Instead, we’ve introduced Bits of Eight. For every four Bits of Eight you collect, you’ll get a roll on the new loot tables – yes, that’s tables plural. Just as in the previous version of this event, you’ll earn one Bit every day on login, and one per hour played to a maximum of 16 Bits of Eight per week. Every 16 Bits you earn will reward you with Pirate Plunder, so you’ll earn rewards throughout the month, not just when you open the chest. You’ll also get a Pirate Plunder the first time you log in!
Pirate Plunder contains one title from the Doubloons title list*, an item from either the Regular or Special loot tables below, and a random selection of piratey cosmetics!
We’ve also aimed to improve communication around this event and reduce the noise by adding Bits of Eight directly to your Currency Pouch – except for the first one you earn each week, which will go straight into your Backpack. We’ve also cut down on the number of info boxes that appear when you receive a Bit.
*The Pirate Plunder obtained via the first login does not contain any of the Doubloon titles.
Rewards
It’s double the fun this time around with two loot tables instead of one! As you collect Bits you’ll roll on each table in an alternating pattern – first Regular, then Special. Collect all 64 Bits available in the event and you’ll get eight rolls on each table.
We’ve expanded the tables to include new items, including currently unobtainable ones like the Phantom Deathbeard Outfit Token and the individual Deathbeard Outfit pieces!
Auto-Unlock Deathbeard Transformation Emote if the last of the above 10 tokens is unlocked.

The March recap is here! We'll go over the shorts we've been posting, as well the development progress, from the past month.
It's been a challenging month for the shorts, as a couple of sicknesses and intense development involvement came in the way. However, we came out of it with a decent amount of material to show. All the shorts combined now count at almost 40 minutes, and there's lots more to come.
The past month saw a lot of work done on the update, with the main highlights being setting off the translation project, finishing the new environment sounds system (some of which you can hear in the videos), further work on the steam engine simulation and countless bug fixes.
Translators and testers have been admitted to closed beta. We are happy to say that the process has been going very well. For about 10 languages that we started with, most are nearing finalization, and the teams have been very dedicated and passionate about it. Thank you so much, guys!
In the following weeks we'll do some improvements to the localization system, before admitting translators for the other languages. If you'd like to help translate Derail Valley, please apply here. We pick the best candidates, and in that sense it's never too late.
We are still expecting the release at around the end of June. After adding more testers in, things are looking good, but there's still no telling if something will pop up along the way (e.g. necessary performance or newbie UX improvements that aren't obvious now), so take that tentative time frame with a reserve. The real date is yet to be announced.
