Huge congratulations to our Weekly Showdown Grand Final Winner, leela who wins with a great round! Our course this week again produced a competitive Grand Final with lots of riders going clear and only 0.267 between 1sr and 2nd. Congratulations to everyone who made it through and did so well :)
No pun intended! This patch brings fixes a bug in the Bugville segment of the game. There was a possibility that after dying, the player would be teleported to a segment much earlier in the game. This patch should fix it.

If you didn't have a chance to play during the event and claim ur pet rat, you can still unlock them by typing "have_sex_" into your terminal. I might find a way to tie this ability organically into the game some day, but for now you'll have to use a cheat code.
A few additional things were added in the sex update, but were left out of the patch notes for comedic effect.
Patch Notes
Huge new optimizations to saving and loading. Changing levels should feel noticeably snappier. This unfortunately came with lots of bugs. I haven't run into one in quite a long time but beware of lingering buginess while I continue testing.
Enemies can now sprint when repositioning with a melee weapon.
Fixed a bug that caused enemies moving with melee weapons to travel slower than their actual skeleton speed.
Fixed a bug causing the rain in Duvet's apartment to not render.
The Become Succ perk now replaces all your abilities with Kiss X. This perk was originally designed when you had to pay chiplets to unequip them (what a wild idea that was!). This new version now feels like it has an appropriate upside and downside.
Disabling the communication hub should no longer disable the camera hub. This was a weird implicit rule that I didn't like. Com hub only blocks enemies from radioing each other now.
In other news, the Mission BBS rework is almost complete! I'm hoping to have that done by the end of this week.
The current BBS system has a lot of issues, like how all levels are basically the same size and kind of samey outside of 2 variants. The new system will scale the size of levels as you progress through the story, introduce more combinations of effects, and feature a slightly reworked black knights system. It's shaping up to be a nice little update that'll elevate the quality of random missions to be more in line with the rest of the game. This will finally tick us over into version 0.7 as well! I have a lot more to share about the development schedule but I'll save that for next time.
New Game plus is here! You can make a New Game+ save file by reaching the end of the game, this game mode has a bunch of changes to game systems. Notably, you keep your equipment which opens up some money making possibilities in the early game. Real Estate is also available immediately from the beginning of the game. I encourage you to explore and see what else is different!
Additionally there's some improvements to how much money you can make in the shop once you reach the late game.
And some improvements to direction in some key places that needed it.

Buffed the Merchant's Cunning trade tool from +2 crit to +3, and from triple crits to quadruple crits.
Expanded the height of the gab window.
Mrs. Five will now heckle the player while you search for her.
Changed the graphic for a sign outside Enterpriston.
Altered the descriptions of items in the trade quest to help remind what to do with them.
The zoom in easter egg will no longer occur while the shop camera is locked.
Shop pot accelerator upgrades now indicate that they stack.
Changed the text when using the seed/plant lever to better indicate how it works.
Altered the graphic for seed stage plants to make them more distinct from fruit stage plants.
Moved the reminder sheet in the craft bag room to the front so it's more noticable.
Changed the default choice for capital stock management to option 2.
Reworked the passive tick system backend so it plays nice with New Game+
Increased how quickly the plot auction price escalates.
Buffed monopolised Permit prices.
Added a new tier of product price upgrades for the lategame at 3000 sales each, Inflation tier.
Talking to the Flow Pix after unlocking them will now repeat what you get for trading them.
Changed an Enterpriston NPC dialogue to hint towards a hidden accessory.
Added an NPC that you can talk to for reminders on how to get each of your products.
Added some NPC dialogue encouraging the player to invest in upgrades.
The Underwalk doors are now ajar to make it more obvious that they exist.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed a clipping bug in the graveyard.
Fixed a floating tree in Castle Marx.
Fixed an issue where max mana wasn't returning to the correct value after resetting the climax confrontation.
Fixed a bug that could cause Tutetown automation to temporarily deactivate.
Fixed high value Envelopes not counting towards tax.
Fixed a rare issue where 2 scenes could trigger at once when leaving the store causing the player to get stuck.

Anyways, hello! March went by really fast. We got a lot done, so let’s run through some of them:
🛋️ Fur-niture
The asset hell continued into the first two weeks of March. During the first half, I wrapped up all the 3D models and 2D icons for the remaining furniture items.
I themed sets after styles, so they were fun to make. For example, the Palm set is Florida grandma core:
…and I was quite proud of the Vintage Couch.
I don’t want to spoil everything, so that’s all you’re getting! WAHAHA! Oh, but here’s some icons I did.
Right after I finished all the furniture goodies, I had to work on…
🌙 Obelisks
Obelisks are a big part of the game in the sense of the vibes and story part it plays. So for that reason, I don’t really wanna show you anything! Cause I think it’ll be 10,000 times cooler if you get to experience for the first time in the game along with Dale’s music. The music adds a lot!
But I don’t want to show nothing, you know, just in case you think I’m a Big Fat Liar. So here’s some concept art I did for one of the interior designs, with zero context.
And here’s the same environment in Maya. I think what makes this place really special are the shaders I made for it and the whole atmosphere when you’re standing in there at scale with Dale’s music. So this much is allowed, as a treat.
After this, I spent about a week laying in bed and turning into mashed potatoes. I think since the end of January, I finished about 150+ buildable assets along with their icons, 30+ NPC portraits, 30+ food assets and their icons, and 17 buildings. So yeah, I really needed…to turn into mashed potatoes for a bit.
🏠 Nosy Neighbors
After I reconstructed myself back into a whole potato, I dressed up some NPC houses. Prior to this, each NPC had like, a square with a bed as their house interior. Now that I had all of the furniture done, I was able to drag in some meshes and dress up their homes.
One of the things I’ve always loved about Pokemon Crystal and Fire Red (in particular!!) are the flavor text bits. You know, checking the fridge will say “Oh, a Cinnibar Burger. Mom’s special!” I’m probably mashing 3 different texts and butchered that one but don’t worry about it.
I spent a lot of time to think about which villagers would own which pieces of furniture, and what colors they would’ve dyed them. So I hope you enjoy learning more about everyone through the way they decorated their homes and the bits of text you can find! … …..and that’s all for this month! I would love to share everything with you, but I also think it’ll be nice to experience some of it for the first time in game. Well, see you soon. We have…a lot of bugs and loose ends to tie up now. So many loose ends. So, so, so many loose ends…
