War for the Overworld - Noontide
Darkest Greetings Underlord,

Is it strange to apologize for the lack of an unobligated yet fun yearly gaff? We’re honestly not sure. We’ve certainly never seen it happen but we can’t remain silent today.

What we do know is that on this day, every year, without fail, we have pushed out jokes both big and small. We’ve had a lot of laughs with you and, over time, it became something of an institution - something many of you look forward to as much as we do.

Each year we thought of ways to push the boat, to raise the bar on the years before or at least keep it high. It became a challenge for us to push ideas out there that made you, our players who are the reason we get to pursue our dreams, sensibly chuckle on your morning commute, say “Is this real? I unironically want this”, or even, on occasion, fool you entirely.

This is definitely a real game

This year we’ve not been able to make it in time. It’s been a busy year with work on our upcoming new game Galacticare (Don't forget to wishlist!) taking a focus in preparation for its announcement last month.

Before we knew it, it was the 31st of March, 3:30PM and we realized we had to do SOMETHING. We scrambled for ideas in a team-wide meeting, scratched some things together, knuckled down for a mad dash. But we didn’t want to disappoint you with something that fell short, and we feel you deserve a better laugh than...this.

Dr. Medichunder was unironically some of our finest work,

For years, in each April Fools, we joked that Aftercare had been canceled, that we had a new plan entirely. Well this year the tables have indeed tabled and Aftercare, now Galacticare, has canceled April Fools.

This year, we’re the fools. Next year it’ll be you.

Dr. MEDIChunder isn't real, Dr. MEDIChunder can't hurt you.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn - Adrian W.
Get ready for a blast from the past with the new update featuring a classic asteroids aesthetic coming out soon to ΔV: Rings of Saturn.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn is often compared to the cult classic astroid games. We decided to embrace that aesthetic.

The classic asteroids game, released in 1979 is widely regarded as a pioneering title in the video game industry, popularizing the concept of space-themed arcade games. The game's vector graphics and simple yet addictive gameplay have made it a beloved classic among gamers, and the addition of this aesthetic to ΔV: Rings of Saturn is sure to be a hit with both old-school gamers and fans of the space simulation genre.

The update will transport you back in time to the golden age of arcade gaming, with revamped graphics reminiscent of the iconic asteroids game.

You can look forward to experiencing the thrill of space exploration with a nostalgic twist when the update drops in the coming weeks.

Commanders!

Did you know that after every single Random Battle, we need to restore the battle map to its original look? A dedicated team of people (we call them the Map Docs) will spend a couple of hours rebuilding all of the destroyed structures, cleaning up debris, dragging away wrecked vehicles, and returning all those fallen trees back to their upright positions.

But the real problem has always been the terrain. Tracks and wheels completely destroy all strategically placed grass, mess up our snow and sand placements, and absolutely obliterate city sidewalks. To understand the effort that our Map Docs put into restoring all that ruined terrain, we asked Greg, our Chief Terrain Specialist, to give us a special comment:

Not an easy job, that. I mean, just imagine replanting grass across the whole of Malinovka after a heated battle. A lot of work, for sure.

Greg, Chief Terrain Specialist from the Map Restoration Team
For years, we’ve been trying to overcome the problem. And today, we are proud to announce that Greg’s life—and the lives of the hundreds of other Map Docs—will now be much easier, as we’ve finally found the solution!

The Great Solution

Starting from April 1, the material of all vehicles’ tracks will be changed to Vibranium. Wheeled vehicles, in turn, will receive new-and-improved tires made with the addition of Adamantium powder. Both metals interact with the environment in a much better way than usual steel, so we expect to reduce the wear of our in-game maps by a whopping 25%!

Additionally, our analysts have estimated that this update will have the following additional positive effects on the game:
  • The mechanics who repair tanks after battle should become happier by approximately 57%.
  • All vehicles should look cooler by 0.001%.
Time to Test It Out!

Even though we are pretty sure about our calculations, we need you to prove them. We have created a special battle mission for you: Travel 5,000 meters in Random Battles on these new tracks (or wheels) and see how it feels! Of course, you will also receive a reward of a handful of crew skins for your contribution to our research.

Keep in mind that this special mission will be available only until April 3, 2023, at 08:00 UTC.

You can find the mission and track your progress (pun intended) in the “Missions” section of your Garage. Good luck!

Suggest More Ideas and Get a Reward!

At first, we thought adding Vibranium and Adamantium to the game was an absolutely crazy idea. However, it may really make a huge difference (especially for Greg). So we’ve decided to collect more unusual ideas. To do that, we are launching a special giveaway: Exchange your crazy idea for one Community Token!

To take part in the Giveaway, just do the following:
  • Press the “Rate Up” button under this article.
  • In the comments, write what you think we should add to the game to make it even more fun.
That’s it! If you complete these steps, you will receive your Community Token within a few days after the giveaway ends on April 2, 2023.

Steam Community Shop and Community Tokens: How It Works

[expand]
Community Tokens are a special currency that you earn by being an active member of the World of Tanks Steam Community and by participating in various events and activities.

You can spend your Tokens in the Steam Community Shop in-game to select the rewards you need (rather than a predetermined reward, as it used to be).

To find the Steam Community Shop, log in to the game, enter the Depot from your Garage and open the “Homefront Supplies” tab. There, you will find the Steam Community Shop with all available rewards and their cost in Community Tokens.
[/expand]
Have Fun!

This extremely important update will probably (not) change the game forever. Complete the mission to test out the changes, get your rewards, participate in our giveaway, and enjoy April Fool’s Day!

Important note: Unfortunately, the cargo ship with our supplies of Vibranium and Adamantium was hijacked by some bad guys, so the information above is just an April Fool’s joke. However, the special mission and the giveaway are real!
