Congratulations to Hagelslag Maten for winning the inaugural season of the official Forts Amateur League!
The FAL medal is theirs to proudly display until the next season concludes and a new winner is crowned. felixwoelmuis and FreekandelBroodje have also earned a spot in the next season of the Forts Pro League to compete for the FPL trophy. In addition, felixwoelmuis was unanimously chosen by the league officials and casters as the playoff MVP for his standout sniper play and one of the greatest clutch performances of all time in the final, and will be recognised with the medal below.
ProBruhTeam was the first to take a game off of Hageslag Maten, knocking them down to the lower bracket in round two before facing them again in the best of 3 finals. They were on the cusp of victory before falling in heartbreaking fashion, battling network conditions and the indomitable felix. The replay of this match is now available in the Featured tab and we highly recommend watching with the new Observer tools (icon in the very lower left hand corner) enabled.
Their FPL dreams are still alive though, as they will have one final opportunity to face the next lowest FPL team after relegation to take their spot in next season. Stay tuned for more information!

The price of the game has been reduced (pending Steam review) because nobody is buying or playing the game.
This is mostly due to the toxic reviews that have been at the top of the reviews page as the "most helpful" despite the overall reviews being positive. This happened due to 2 players what did not like the way I responded to thier requests and subsequent removal of them from the discord server. All it took was for them to post 2 very negative reviews and spam them with community rewards so they remain at most helpful status. This is really all it takes to destroy the momentum of an early access game.
If you want to support indie games and thier developers please rethink your interactions and reviews especially when they are trying to build. You want to know why so many EA games fail? Toxic and selfish players that do not understand the Early Access process and do not know how to support indie developers. That is why. Not because they just give up or take the money and run, and that is why all we get as gamers is the same old regurgitated crap that the AAA studios pump out.
I have not made any money from this game, I have spent much more on it than I've made back in sales. Not to mention the income lost from time spent working on it. The reason for making this game was because I wanted to try and make something unique. Yes, the same tried and true survival formula, but something unique and memorable at the same time because I was tired of trying to find that in other games.
I added the Zombies almost out of desperation because all of a sudden there were so many great new survival games coming out and I felt like Territory in comparision was really not competitive. Honestly, I had worked on the game so hard and for so long that my vision became clouded. As I spend more time at a distance from it, that cloud is fading and my original vision is starting to return but it will take some time.
I still have that core vision, I just need to work out how to get back to it from where the game is at now. It was never meant to be overly complicated with NPC's and quests and other BS, the original vision was a simple and refined tower defence/survival game where the core game play was to gather resources, loot and build up a fortress that you defend from enemies using weapons and traps. I became too accomodating with players requests and tried to do too much which ended up burning me out. But then again, we all know what happens when people don't get what they want right?
Anyway that's all for now, I started this journey being fully transparent so might as well keep doing that. If that ends up being the downfall of the game then so be it. At the end of the day I can just walk away and at least say I tried.
