General updates
I am happy to announce that the development of Kcpts is progressing quickly and numerous features are being implemented. I sincerely hope that everyone will enjoy this and that many of you will appreciate the work that has been accomplished so far.

First version and early access
If everything goes according to plan, I will have a first version of the game to offer to players in early/late June 2023. This version will be accessible through early access and will be free. This is a way for me to receive your feedback on the project, to know what you like or don't like, and to receive your ideas for modifications and additions based on your opinions.

So, this is it, the final dev diary before our launch next week! Exciting times :)

Wrath. Was it not Wrath that convinced our avatar Cecil to join the crusade and slay men in the name of his faith before returning to Sinwell? What else could have possessed him to think the deaths of others would be righteous?

Or revenge. In some cultures, revenge is seen as a just cause. But isn’t it merely wrath in disguise?

And don’t we all get angry every now and then, maybe saying things we regret a minute later, once our rage has cooled off?

The definition of Wrath
Ira: Wrath is the uncontrolled feeling of anger, rage, and hatred, that often manifests itself in the wish to seek vengeance. Patience cures wrath.



A deadly sin spread across Sinwell
As Wrath is such a “common” sin, it is spread across all sorts of different villagers in Sinwell and it may surprise you who is guilty once you have tracked them down.

The setting for this deadly sin is a deep, gloomy dungeon featuring medieval instruments of torture, lots of climbable walls for the Griffin.



Finally the Taurus was used as design element, as you can see below in some of the concepts that were crafted for the Wrath level by the art team.

Floodland - The Game Doc
Greetings survivors,
Here’s a quick note that’s washed up amongst the debris. We’ve been focused on the technical difficulties that have disappointed some players and prevented them from immersing themselves fully in the brutally gorgeous world of Floodland.

We want you to know many fixes are on the horizon especially to issues players found most concerning:

- Endgame objective: Improved end game experience by clarifying and simplifying the last objective. We won’t spoil it here but more details will follow.

- Stability and performance: Crashes should be significantly reduced. Of course, we can’t account for all system configurations, but optimization has improved

- Survivors pathing issues: We have improved the schedule of tasking which had knock on effects that lead to issues. For example: people being stuck on boats and piers and resources not seemingly being transported.

- Shacks won't upgrade to houses: They will!

- District Autonomy Law flaws: This law will be clearly described in game so that the expectation of the mechanic can be easily understood.

- Game events repeating: While some events are intended to repeat, their frequency has been significantly reduced. Especially, in regards to crises events.

- Save game load issues: Should be addressed, but some edge cases may exist
Please contact us via. Discord and send us your save game files and we can try to fix these rare cases individually.

We are hoping to deliver this and much more in April. Before then we’ll be detailing the “much more” which includes free new content!

Welcome Agents, a hotfix is about to hit the game to alleviate some issues we’ve seen pop-up since launch. Without further ceremony let’s dive into it:

Steam Specific
Achievement Fix

This is a fix to Steam achievements not always unlocking for players. Please note that achievements that would have been previously unlocked will not be granted retro-actively. The exception to this are achievements based on account and mastery levels. These will be awarded retro-actively on your next level-up.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

General Fixes
Spy Footsteps Check

We are pushing a fix to a bug causing spies footsteps to be heard while in cover. This should reduce instances of being jumped with no clear reason why on the receiving end.

Fix for backfilling issue in pre-game lobby (Global Server Side update)
Fixed an issue that prevented a lobby from being backfilled leading to understaffed matches


Yu-Mi Base Passive Regen (Global Server Side update)
Yu-Mi’s gadget cooldown regen with her base passive was higher than originally intended. This makes it 50% faster instead of 90% faster.

Fixing invalid spawn locations (Global Server Side update)
Players could spawn inside walls or behind staircases. We fixed a sizable number of such spawns in this update. Please let us know if you still see occurrences of this in the future.

Agent Spawn positions
We are integrating a new system to give us more granular control on where agents spawns. This should massively reduce instances of spawning right next to a player in the first few seconds of a game. This system also lays the groundwork for us to take action anytime on such spawns with a server side fix. Let us know if you encounter spawns that you feel were too close after this comes in and we’ll keep addressing them.

Fix for melee issue leading to kick to main menu (Global Server Side update)
Fixed an issue that could lead to a kick back to main menu when landing multiple quick melees in short successions.

Backend change to improve Matchmaking server selection
The team has made changes to greatly improve the situation where some players could end up in servers that were not ideal. The team is working towards adding more client options to help players make choices around matchmaking as well in a future update.

While the team continues to work on several other items for follow up hotfixes and Quality of Life improvements, we want to make sure all Agents are aware of some of the major items the team is working towards. Please be aware that an item not being listed here does not mean it isn’t important or being worked towards, just that it is unlikely to show up in the near future.

  • Fix for cross platform parties not always working between Xbox and other platforms
  • Potential fix for the “Infinite” weapon and gadget scrolling bug
  • Improved controller assist
    • We’ve been reading player feedback and are making adjustments
    • We are also hoping to add more settings around this in the future
  • Agent Balance
    • We’ll be continuing to adjust agent weapons and abilities, improving those that are under-performing and bringing down those that are over-performing.

Greetings scientists! Thank you for your continued feedback on the Forever Skies closed playtest. These improvements and patches wouldn’t be possible without your input!

In this update, our goal was to structure the game with a clear main progression path and additional optional activities.

We can’t wait to hear what you think to the new additions and changes. The full details are below:

New methods for research and blueprint acquisition:
  • Destroyed technology added to the game that provide new researches for the Research Station.
  • Memory cards that provide new blueprints for crafting.
Locations:
  • New Location variant added - Water Lily
  • Radio Towers balancing
  • New placement of blueprints and resources
  • Underdust VFX improvements
Quests:
  • New Quests “Red Signal Source”
  • New Quests “Navigation Technology”
  • New Quests “Find Lift location Coordinates”
  • New Quests “Get The Information About World Under Dust”
  • New Quests “Get to the laboratory”.
  • New Quests “Examine the virus carrier”
  • Quest “Find the Lab Under the Dust” has been removed as a result of the above.
New Items added:
  • Medkits can now be crafted in the fabricator.
  • Large Storage Boxes
  • Secret life form to discover under the dust
Improvements:
  • The Radar now shows quest location and unknown location variants. The range has also been updated.
  • Lore Scenes on locations now give more information and background to the story.
  • Items to scan in the “Study” menu are now divided into location variants and regions they can be found in.
  • Delete save confirmation prompt added to the main menu.
Settings
  • Mouse and Gamepad Sensitivity improvements
Bug Fixes
  • Autosaves have been improved in many aspects
  • Airship building QOL
  • Water bottles improvements
  • Audio indicator for lack of fuel in the engine should be less irritating
  • Audio indicator for damaged engines and turbines should be less frequent
  • Improvements to Deck extractor smoothness, targeting and more
  • Elevator shouldn’t get stuck mid way down
  • Repair patches should now stack properly
  • Some performance improvements to the ship and it’s behavior at a lower FPS
  • Boosters shouldn’t disappear from Study Menu after loading a save.
