Hello guys!
This is the last content update for this game.
Before going into what has been added, I would want to thank you for playing the game!
It was an amazing experience to develop this game alongside you guys that provided me with the necessary feedback.
It didn't go very well if you compare it to the industry standard, but I am more than pleased with it since it is my first ever experience with publishing and managing a game of this scale.
It will definitely not be my last project as I am working on another game at the moment, so stay tuned!

NEW ITEMS
  • Engineer - 1/2/3 stationary machineguns will spawn in a random position and will shoot at enemies. The bullets fired by them will apply on hit effects
  • Laser gun - Each time you fire 4/3/2 bullets a laser will hit a random enemy dealing damage to it

Hey Everyone,

We have a major update that took us a while to make, but is totally worth the wait. Aside from some fixes across the board this update resolves one of the longstanding issues that MKW had from day one.

In addition this update significantly improves performance, reduces loading times, reduced video card stress, cuts memory usage on in half and has a number of fixes and improvements across the board - from GUI to balancing.

And to go over the biggest part of this update - as most of our players know while MKW was working great in most departments - be it performance or gameplay. However we did have one major issue from day one - for a small number of players the game would crash when switching between levels. Luckily this issue only effected a small number of our players - but still it was one of the biggest problems the game had in our opinion.

Solution was very complex and required quite a bit of time - basically every game level had to be updated and reworked - but we can finally say that all these crashing issues have been fixed.



Now lets take a look at what our 38th update has in store

  • Fixed rare crash when loading big town levels from world map
  • Fixed rare crash on loading screen to the world map
  • Fixed rare crash when loading a level from Skirmish
  • Fixed a number of crashes that would happen during busy combat
  • Complete rework of towns generating trade goods
  • Trade goods are now generated monthly by each city
  • Loading times have decreased by about 25% in most situations
  • Visual performance improvements in all game modes
  • Greatly reduced the stress the game would put on video cards
  • Visual memory requirements reduced by over 50%
  • Reworked diplomacy window - it doesn`t reload all the lord portraits
  • Reworked various other windows - so they don`t reload unity portraits again and again
  • Fix for scaling issue with cheat console on 4k
  • Fixed two exploits that allowed multiplying resources in some instances
  • Fixed some intro cinematic in the King Campaign in the Greater World DLC
  • Fixed a number of smaller bugs across the board
The Siege of Brimir - anden
New build with not so many changes but that makes the game run better. FPS are more stable and both GPU and CPU optimizations have been performed.

In addition to that there is now the posibility to block attacks from the enemies. You can press the dodge button and for a small window of time the attacks will only cause 10% of damage, you can press it multiple times if desired but it consumes energy. It does not replace the teleportation, it can still be done if an enemy is locked.




Other additions

  • Added grenades to the solders, both explosive and smoke one.
  • Added electrical poles.

New stuff:
  • Updated some upgrade descriptions to include numerical values (e.g. critical chance/multiplier % values).
  • Added stats to the pause menu.
  • Added artwork modifications for each level for turrets.
  • Added Rocket turrets!

Bugs and balancing:
  • Fixed critical multiplier bug.
  • lowered range growth for soldier and turret levels.
  • Fixed an issue with the upgrade selection menu sounds not being effected by volume controls.
  • Modified the way defensive satellite explosions damage enemies to hopefully prevent a possible crash.

I made Azazel of Uruk larger, more in line with his design as I envisioned it. Now there is a disclaimer at the start of the game when you first run it. Lastly, I fixed a couple of minor bugs and graphical glitches.

In My Defense - DrMarkMadScientist
  • Doubled the text and image size for the score/lives/inventory section of the HUD. This should make it readable playing on the steamdeck.
  • Changed smoke effect emitting from dead spider.
  • Fixed base shield explosion appearing behind the building, instead of in front of it.
  • Fixed tree layer images that somehow became offset.
