This update took a lot of time for us. But we brought a lot of cool stuff.
Our artist drawn all spell graphics and its animations. Barricades and Spikes have got animation of appearing and several animated phases of destruction. We added different visuals for all of them. Spikes can be wooden, poison and icy. Barricades can be wooden, bone, stone and stone with oil. Also, we added graphics for preplaced big bone barricade and big stone barricade and preplaced bone spikes of Mission 12.
Battle Totem and Fear spells have got completely new visuals.
Finally, we reworked Meteor system. Now it has a new graphics and a new flight path with a small delay before impact. All of this made casting a meteor a small pleasure.
Secondly, we introduce new system of tower building.
We added hotkeys to all towers and their abilities. Secondly, all buttons have a direct disposition and forms for a simple navigation. Now they uses same feature as spell buttons. They fill themselves depending on current meat counter. If they full enough, player can use them.
We drawn and put all unique icons. Also, UI shows to the player if tower has a purchased ability.
We drawn and put all final game menus into the game. Map of adventure has got some decorative details. Main menu have got links to social networks which make unavailable later because of the old mage. Also, there is a special button appears when the last story mission completed. This button start a very fun in-game movie with all members of our team. Check it.
Also, we added a special decoration for a situation when the old mage disappears during the story. We added different outfits for the old mage to show what Mode #2 and #3 are about. Also, learning spells in the Skill tree play a cool animation now.
Finally, we added new version of Mission 7 with swapped starting areas and Added Mission 15 in Mode #2.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug in Mission 12 when dropped monster of Cargo Bird appeared off the edge of the screen, so Mission couldn't be finished.
Fixed a bug when Cargo Bird didn't visually die in Mission 12.
Fixed an inflated new wave timer of 1 wave in Mission 7 of Mode #2.
Barricades can't placed into another one now.
Fixed a bug when battle cursor remains in the game menu.
(Patch #2). Fixed the bug when missions of Mode #2 and Mode #3 didn't rewards with SP.
(Patch #3). Fixed the bug when the progress could not be saved sometimes.
(Patch #4). Fixed the bug when Mission 3 couldn't be finished after appearing of the boss head.

It's been a month since we last had our Black Squad VOC and we would like to know your thoughts about the changes that was made and also the updates and events that we have.
A lot has happened since we last made an update on Steam! The dev team is growing, the game is getting better, and we're getting closer and closer to our closed beta test.
We have a brand new gameplay trailer to share which you might have already seen on the store page. In the trailer, you can see our hero taming his first horse, building a ranch for himself, riding into the town of Tumbleville, and receiving a quest to rescue Lars the Carpenter.

We’ve already spoken with the talented voice actors, director, and others who worked behind the scenes to bring localised voices to the game, as well as German Localisation Editor Christiane Müller, but now the spotlight lands on Will, the English Localisation Editor for Conqueror's Blade!
We caught up with Will and talked about everything from his day-to-day role, to writing immersive lore, his favourite part of the job, and more.
Q: Hi Will! Talk us through your role on Conqueror’s Blade.
A: I edit the English translation of the in-game texts for a native-speaker audience. I also write Unit voiceovers, and in partnership with BT have invented names and lore for just about everything in the game.
Q: You’re responsible for naming all sorts of things in Conqueror’s Blade, from items to Units to Maps. Where do you draw inspiration from?
A: As far as possible I draw on academic scholarship on the subject period or place, so there’s a lot of time spent reading papers on medieval and military history. Since Conqueror’s Blade has a fictional setting, my intention is that Unit names generally refer obliquely to their real-world inspirations while still working as in-universe names in their own right.
Q: What is the piece of lore you’re most proud of writing?
A: It’s a tie between the material culture of the Kingdom of Empyros and the Horse Seller’s equine puns. For better or worse, “It’s just not your day, is it?” is the closest I’ve come to creating a meme.
Q: What is a common misconception about your job?
A: That localisation and translation are the same thing. Localisation is more about approximate meanings than a 1:1 adherence to the original text. Ideally, a finished, localised text should feel to a native speaker like it was written in their language in the first place.
Q: How did you come to decide on this career path? What were your previous roles?
A: It was an ideal role for me as it matched my interests (gaming, medieval history) and skills (I was learning to be a scriptwriter). Before that, I worked in academic publishing and bookselling, so words, either my own or other people’s, have always been my business.
Q: What’s your favourite part of your role?
A: Writing Unit voiceover scripts – the Units of Conqueror’s Blade are a window into the setting so it is a chance to give them their own character. Also, I have a soft spot for writing awful puns and there are more than a few in there.
Q: What was the first game you ever played?
A: I should probably mention here a cool or culturally significant game that influenced me as a writer in later years, but in truth, I think the first game I ever played was Clowns & Balloons on the Atari 800XL.
Q: Outside of writing and gaming, what are some of your other hobbies?
A: To get away from the screens I also paint landscapes, read a lot of fiction, and back during lockdown I got into woodcarving – I still have a homemade chess set to finish.
Q: If you could enter the world of Conqueror's Blade, what would be the first thing you’d do?
A: I’d go to the Royal Falcon tavern in Turul Város and see if they have a pub quiz.
This patch does the following: - Since I updated to the latest version of Gamemaker (two or three patches back) the way I used particle effects was changed, which resulted in several particles where missing or only appeared for a few frames. This patch should restore all the effects to their former glory. - Fixes an issue related to not finding path to fires when clicking directly on them. - Undead giants boulders will not instantly hit other undeads. - Also gets rids of a crash.
All members of a squad MUST be from the same house/cohort and none of the participants may leave said house/cohort until after the tournament. A house that changes its name during the tournament will be disqualified.

Ruleset
Stage 1
Single Elimination Scoring Phase: All squads in a group will fight each other squad in that group once. Participating squads will be divided into two groups. Lots will be drawn to decide on groups. Games will be played as Best of 3. The first 2 matches will be played as Siege Battles (on the same map) with the squads changing sides for the second match. Should the two squads be tied after these 2 matches a Field Battle will be played. Should that match also end in a tie, more extra matches will be played on the same Field Battle map until one squad wins.
Stage 2
Finals: Contend for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Games will be played as Best of 5. 4 matches will be played as Siege Battles with the squads switching sides after each match. Should the score be 2:2 after these 4 matches, a Field Battle will be played. Should that match also end in a tie, more extra matches will be played on the same Field Battle map until one squad wins.
Map Pool - Scoring Phase: White Elk Fort, Linwu Fortress, Kurak Castle, Grassland Assault (Extra Match) - Finals: White Elk Fort, Linwu Fortress, Kurak Castle, Hidden City, Grassland Assault (Extra Match)
Map/Unit Ban & Pick The two squads randomize numbers to decide on the ban & pick order, with the squad getting the bigger number starting as the attacker.
- Scoring Phase (No Ban & Pick) Map Selection Time: We will issue a link for map selection at 18:00 (UTC+8) the day before the match. You can choose maps between 18:00-18:30 (UTC+8). We will notify related parties regarding the exact time of map selections. Any squad that is three or more minutes late is seen to have waived their rights to select a map.
- Finals (Map/Unit Ban & Pick) There will be two rounds of banning and picking. Squads cannot attack on the same map twice. The last round's banning and picking results will also apply to any extra matches. Ban & Pick Time: To be notified by the tournament host.
Naming Conventions Squad Name: Choose a squad name containing between 4-32 English characters. Squad Abbreviation: Choose a squad abbreviation of no more than 4 English characters. Player Name: [Squad Abbreviation_Nickname] (i.e., CBL_123)
