Hello Bus Drivers!

We know that you’ve been waiting for more news on Bus Simulator 21. We now have some! Thank you for your continued support for us and the game over the past months! And we are excited to give you a peek on what’s next for Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop.

Finally!

In the past, our release and testing schedule didn’t allow us to do changes on a deep level. Before we could touch core systems, we already had to close everything up and go into the next testing phase. But over time, we could not make any more meaningful improvements without going deeper into core systems.

That’s why we decided to reserve a longer period of time without releases. This allowed us to make significant improvements to many of the areas you sent us feedback for and which we could not tackle due to the complexity and dependencies of all interconnected systems! To get more things done during that focused development, we also added more people to the development team. Now, we can’t wait to show you what’s coming.

So, what’s coming?

We are working on a major update to Bus Simulator 21 – Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop – that will come to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PS4, and PS5 on May 23,2023.

While we can't reveal everything today but shorten the time until release, we’ll keep you informed with video clips of our fixes and improvements 👀😄 Follow @BusSimGame on Social Media and join our Discord to stay up to date.

The improvement process had multiple areas united under a common theme: Smooth Simulation. It solves the biggest annoyances you sent our way on Discord, reports, mails and tweets and makes the drive experience a lot more enjoyable and fluid. These are the areas we focused on:

  • Pedestrians:
    • Pedestrians will be more environmentally aware: A lot less crossing the street in awkward places. Less walking into the bus.
    • They now move faster to allow for fluid boarding and unboarding. Of course some ”unique cases” might occur from time to time but you’ll feel a big improvement overall!
    • Also, when the bus is full, passengers walk away and don’t block your bus.
  • NPC Buses
    • Buses driven by NPCs will leave stations earlier if other buses or players want to use the same stop and thus move out of the way.
    • Route planning of NPC buses has been improved so they should not get stuck in areas with lots of parked cars and allow for much smoother traffic overall and a lot less traffic jams.
  • Traffic
    • We heard you! Too many traffic jams! Cars being weird. We were on it! We worked on smart overtaking of your bus and reduced waiting times on intersections and we significantly reduced traffic jams that piled up over time.
    • Additionally, we fixed a number of traffic lights and added missing ones.
    • For cases where a traffic jam still occurs and locks everything up, we added a “reset traffic button” that is accessible in the game’s menu.
  • Crashes
    • Crashes are a hugely complex topic as every PC and console reacts differently depending on the state it’s in, drivers, which and how many apps are currently loaded, what the OS is doing in the background and much more, but we again eliminated many sources of crashes when loading save games, starting companies, starting sandbox games… Bus Simulator 21: Next Stop will be a much smoother experience.
  • Performance
    • We squeezed out milliseconds here and there that add up, including FPS improvements for base consoles and reduction of memory usage to avoid “out of memory” crashes.
    • Of course we have a lot of performance updates and fixes for the PC version as well.
  • Input & Steering Wheels
    • We’re aware steering wheels are a constant source of frustration. We’ve been investigating this for a long time and “Next Stop” includes lots of various changes and fixes for Steering Wheels. However, we were not able to reproduce all issues you reported no matter what systems, drivers, wheels we tried to get to the bottom of these mysteries. All in all, in our closed testing with players from our community, we’ve seen great results so we hope that most of the issues will be gone for good!
  • Multiplayer
    • We were working hard on various multiplayer fixes you reported, including connectivity and stability fixes.
  • Map
    • There are a TON of fixes on the maps where we removed obstacles, moved bus stop signs back so you don’t bump into them when stopping close to the curb, moved many signs so they don’t intersect with each other anymore.
    • And there’s also a very big map extension that will be coming with the update. More details very soon!

Attention Generals!

In this update, we implemented several balancing changes that are based on your discord feedback. This time we concentrated on hit chances. The one for Fortresses was increased and the ones for Workshops and Recruiting offices were reduced. At the same time, we reverted the scouting feature of balloons from the last update and lowered the concealing threshold for Fortresses.

In addition to that, we made several adjustments to alliances and maps. The Middle East map is now available to players with a minimum rank of 3 instead of 10, so it is now more players can join. We also fixed a bug with alliance ranking that confused you about which alliance has a growing or a shrinking trend.

Finally, we added more sorting options for the provinces on mobile devices to make it easier for you to do province management and fixed search bugs that occurred with some languages.

Commander, the latest Situation Report has just arrived!

Today’s update features some adjustments and polishing together with several important bug fixes. We added more sorting options for the province list on mobile devices to make it easier for you to do province management and fixed search bugs that occurred with some languages.

Apart from that, we resolved issues with the screen becoming blurry when other panels are active and some panels displayed behind other panels. This is not the case anymore and you won’t need to restart the game or go back to open panels in the correct order.

Finally, we fixed that annoying bug that displayed incorrect values in the alliance ranking list. If you are keeping an eye on the top alliances, you will be able to see correct growing or shrinking trends.

Latest Status;

First of all, thank you very much for your great interest in the game. It gives us great motivation.
We listen to your problems as much as we can and update the game.

We've expanded to a larger audience than we expected, and as a result, we've decided to drastically change the game.We've added major updates to the game while keeping the game's theme.
We are working hard for early access, we are trying to make a game that is both error-free and you can play for a longer time.

We started the updates after the demo, but as you know, there was a big earthquake in our country. (Turkiye/Kahramanmaras)
We had to put aside our work because of the earthquake.
Unfortunately, life in our country has come to a standstill and the motivation of all our people has dropped to a great extent.
We stopped 1 week of development. Now we continue with much better motivation.

UPDATES


We have received a lot of questions so far, you wondered what we were doing. We wanted to give you some news before it goes into Early Access.

We've updated our map for early access. Now we have a more beautiful city. Besides, our graphics are much better quality now.
We have updated our bar or other venues.




Of course we had to review our cars and we tried to add better quality vehicles and driving system as much as we could.
We have not only increased the vehicle quality, but also added new systems to the vehicles. Signals, more beautiful light systems, hand etc.
We have even better things in mind, but we'll make these updates once our game hits early access.




As you remember, our office was a little empty, and we were aware of this. We added a decoration system to our office and homes. So that it is more beautiful and as you like.We let you edit.




We have added an car expert system to the game. Now, the vehicle dealers in front of us can be emotional and they can lie to us.
We can learn to car damaged parts look at the car expert raport.

Finally, for this update note, we'd like to show you the Junkyard system. There is now a junkyard near our office. You will be able to collect scrap from the junkyard.
You can also break the vehicles in the junkyard and collect the scraps that come out of it. You will be able to sell the scraps you collect and earn money.
Bigger updates are coming for the junkyard system.




When will the game be released ?
We said Q1 for Early Access, but for the reason we mentioned above and to make a much better game, we moved our game's release time to a later date.
We want to release our game immediately and we are working as fast as we can.

  • Added 'Classic Mode' - Miss seed scrolls? Hate that nerdy worm? Enjoy all the new content and bug fixes in Deerly Beloved, but with the classic farming system. Compete against other classic enthusiast in separate Classic Leaderboards. To enable Classic Mode, interact with the Phonograph near the Dailies Butterfly. Note: there is no classic mode for Oregacrow.

  • Balancing: Butcher's Bayonet does more damage and always drops 1-4 fertilizer
  • Bug fix: Zombies can now damage player
  • Bug fix: Fixed frog shop not refreshing properly between runs
