Hey lads,

I have fixed a bug that would not let you close the game menu on Omaha, Rekrut difficulty, once you opened it. I have checked all maps for said issue and could not find any further bugs, thus the game should work as intended now.

Forsaken Universe Announcement 3/5/2023

What's the holdup!
Hey everyone! First off I am going to personally apologize for disappearing for the last three months. College got a little bit hard. So with that, I am very sorry! Buttttttt, that doesn't mean I haven't been working on Forsaken Universe! The new update, Early Access 1.0, is coming along very smoothly! Lots of testing has been going into the game as well as adding some new features! This post will have three main things, what is left that needs to be added to the new update, as well as our new screenshots for the store page! AKA, some teasers for what is to come, and lastly when everything will be happening!

What needs to be done?
I have put together a list of what needs to be done before the official release of Early Access 1.0.
  • Add 6 different weapons, 2 pistols, 2 assault rifles, 1 shotgun, and 1 sniper.
  • Add 5 different quests.
  • Add 3 more ships.
  • Update UI to make it look more professional.
  • Update main menu and main menu world.
  • Update most creatures and AI.
  • Add more locations to explore on Zoroth.
  • Start working on the planet Drax.
  • Fix some outstanding bugs.
As you can see, there isn't that much left to do for Early Access, but it still will take time!

When is this all happening...
Well, with the list that needs to be done, you may think that it'll take 2-3 months with my development to get this update out... WRONG! On Sunday, 3/12/2023, I will be releasing a pre-update patch to the main branch of Forsaken Universe. This will hold everything new in the game and be playable for you! Then, the official release of the new Early Access 1.0 will be in the next month! When? I don't know yet but be on the lookout for the next announcement!

Dyztopia: Post-Human RPG - Bass
Content Update

NEW SYNC SCREEN

Upon completing a sync you'll be greeted with a new screen! It'll tell you the progress of your sync and it looks neat too. This will display after every sync event. Sync will be able to go to 5 with the addition of Deviations!


Boss Mechanic Skip
A new option appears in the Options menu! Skip boss explanations with this. Not recommended for first playthroughs. The explanations will be on by default!




Patch Notes:
- 6-2 no longer is blocked off
- Body Armor has a new icon, no longer called "Auto-Revive"
- Embargo Aura now only lasts 3 turns with a -1/+1 turn modifier in Easy and Hard respectively.
- Embargo Aura is now a buff and can be ended early with a move that removes buffs.
- Boss HP threshold increased significantly so that their DR doesn't kick in too fast.
- Izuna no longer "hides" damage popups. Will be alongside them as normal.
- Zazz shield phases streamlined.
- Sync 4s now give Persistent Hype
- Telebolt increased damage
- Bonfire increased damage and faster animation
- Shotgun of Cards and Ignisiken now have Blitz
- Iron Guard now has Flash
- Dyne spells and Even Needle now have reduced damage if an enemy uses them. (This change does not affect Hard Mode.)
- More boss explanations have been added.
- Breaking Links now has an animation
- Various weird sprite oddities have been fixed.

This update


1. Added the function of continuing the game when the background is suspended and the game is minimized. You can hang the game in the background while doing other things, and the game will continue to automatically perform operations such as killing monsters and clearing levels.


2. Added the function of hiding the dialog box. You can click the triangle button in the dialog box to hide the dialog box. After hiding, you can take screenshots at will, and enjoy pure color content in pure mode.


We welcome everyone to share their playing process and experience in the community. At the same time, if you encounter any problems during the game, you can post a message in the community, and I will reply as soon as possible. Meeting the needs of players has always been our goal! ! Hope you all like this game.

Fixed - Issue with Old Bill’s keys / car. (SEE NOTES BELOW)
Fixed - Issue with critter spawning near Uluru.

Added - Chance for player to be knocked down.

NOTE : If you have already collected Old Bills car key but can’t access the car you will need to collect the key again as this was a bug if collecting the key on the first game load.
There are now no restrictions on landing the chopper. This creates new ways to approach some situations and could also create new issues during gameplay. Please report any if found.

Greetings programs.

Lost Harbinger here with another signal from the mists. It's been a busy couple of weeks here in the lighthouse, mostly focused on story and audio.

In game text is always a tricky problem to address. We know our fellow gamers, so we know how often people will just skip through walls of text, regardless of how much we, as the developers, want them to read the rich story we've written. So one of the things we've always wanted was voice acting for everything that we really wanted conveyed. But with an indie budget, that's not always realistic, so we've been coming up with creative ways to put a voice to everything we can.

Fortunately, one of our main characters we can use text-to-speech as they are, in fact, an artificial intelligence. The "Emotive Listening & Learning Pad", or Ellpad, is Last Chance Market's new shopping assistant, featuring the store's mascot, Ellie the Elk! Through the Ellpad, Ellie will be able to assist shoppers in finding items throughout the store. Ellie can also interact more directly with shoppers, giving them detailed information on the store's displays and might even give hints on how to survive find the best deals!

We've also been working hard on getting the sound design itself just right. Sound design is undoubtedly one of the most important aspects of a horror game, but we didn't want to limit ourselves to the usual drones and atmospheric sounds. Because what grocery store doesn't have music playing in the background? So we're very happily adding a variety of creative commons-friendly music to the store's PA system. Quite a bit of the music is from the amazing Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio, who we've been listening to on youtube for years now. If you haven't heard of him, he's got some amazing dark synth and cyberpunk mixes that make for great background listening, we highly recommend checking him out.

That's going to be it for now, just a quick update before returning to deciphering the code. Stay tuned for more signals from the fog.
Project Regolith - Regolith Interactive
Hello again everyone!

We were hoping to be able to share some better news at this stage but unfortunately we're still waiting on updates regarding our new office space, as well as on some other fronts that I'll be discussing today.

If you have read our last devlog, you'd know that we have officially made the decision to delay the game a little later into Q3 of this year, aiming ideally for the end of August. A number of factors have contributed to this; The team being forced to work out of home, our applications for further funding from Government Sources here in Australia, and the work that has stemmed from these processes have had an impact on the time we've been able to dedicate to the game, and here's why:

Working From Home
Game development is a very collaborative medium - As such, working remotely impacts efficiency of communications and workflows, as well as leaves us more susceptible to software, hardware, and network issues. We're hoping to get good news soon and finally move into our office space, but until then, we're stuck working in this reduced capacity.

Funding Applications
Since mid-December of 2022, we've been looking into external funding from two Government departments here in Australia, VicScreens (who are in charge of funding on a State level here in Victoria), and ScreenAustralia (the Federal counterpart that operates for Australia at large). These processes have seen us attending meetings, drafting new documentation, and filling in application forms for the better part of the past two months - The endgame for these applications is being able to pay the team a proper salary and allow us to leave our part-time work to focus on Regolith fully.
We've recently completed all our applications and are now just waiting on review processes - hopefully there will be more to share on this front in the coming month.

To Briefly Summarize
Since the beginning of 2023 we've had a lot of extra stuff on our plate to handle outside of the game, and we're working through it as best we can - However, due to the amount of time we've lost as a result, we made the difficult decision to delay.
We hope you all understand, and we'll continue to keep you updated as important changes occur.
