Despot's Game: Dystopian Battle Simulator - George Kulko
Hello, puny humans!
"When it comes to numbers, you really like to brag about them for whatever reason. And I, the Despot, really like to watch you fight each other to the death over those numbers! That's why I added another leaderboard to the game—to keep track of the aforementioned numbers in the 'Brawl' mode. Besides that, there's fresh content you've been begging me to give to you!"
• UPDATE 1.4 •
• Unique Tier 4 Weapon Abilities •
Tank: “Demoralizing Blow”. During an attack, gives a Tank chance to deal damage to a specific area and reduce an enemy's attack;

Trickster: “Pain Lover”. A Trickster receives a damage bonus each time they take damage (Max.: 100%);
Fighter: “Black Swan”. If a Fighter's health is at 50% or lower when they receive damage, they summon a Black Swan: a decoy clone of themselves with lesser attack and weaker damage resistance. A maximum of one Black Swan can be summoned during a battle;
Healer: “Shock Therapy”. When healing teammates, a Healer receives a 20% chance to deal damage equal to the healing value to enemies within the range of the healing target;
Thrower: “Fish Slap”. Each third time the Throwers' class ability is triggered, poisons enemies with the explosion;
Shooter: “Railgun”. Each fifth attack deals additional magical damage;

• 'Brawl' Mode Leaderboard •
As promised, we've added a rating system to 'Brawl.' It has a difference or two from the 'King of the Hill' one, though. Here's how it works:
Your rating determines the league you are sent to. The league, in turn, determines how many points you gain or lose depending on the number of wins in your run.
The higher the league, the more PvP wins you need to go up and not down in the rankings.
If you hadn't finished your run (hadn't spent all three lives) and then started a new game, overwriting your older save, your rating will change: the number of wins from your previous run will be counted. For example, if you had started a 'Brawl' run and then decided to start anew without ever finishing it, you risk losing your rating since a start with zero wins is what's going to be counted.
Unlike 'King of the Hill', there is no regular change of seasons on the 'Brawl' leaderboard. Perhaps the day will come when we decide to reset the leaderboard and start rewarding leaders. However, there are no plans to do that so far.
• Other changes •
Mutation altars now show what mutations are available at the current level;
Random mutations now can be unlocked by defeating other players' armies in the 'Brawl' mode;
Items found using the "Newbie's Luck" mutation can now be sold in the store for 12.5% of their cost;
The "Hypochondria" mutation now gives puny humans a universal dodge ability (a chance to avoid taking damage from enemy attacks/abilities) for the duration of the mutation;
Changed icons for some statuses that had previously had a generic icon.
• Balance changes •
“Newbie's Luck”: the chance to find an item: 1 -> 3%. Both Tier 1 and Tier 2 items can be found;
Hello everyone! In exactly 1 week the moment is finally here: the 1.0 release! As we started this project 4 years ago, it almost feels surreal! With this devlog we want to inform you of the new things that will be in this update besides the multiple save slots and weekly challenge that were mentioned in the previous devlog.
Moon cities
With this final update, you will be able to found cities on the Martian moons! Over the course of the game, you might get an event that allows you to found a city on one of the 2 moons of Mars (Phobos or Deimos). If you choose to, you will get a special space project that requires 30 food and 10 water to complete. And once completed, you have a city on one of the moons. The Martian moons are very small (Phobos has a diameter of 22 kilometers and Deimos a diameter of 12 kilometers. That’s not much compared to our moon that has a diameter of 3,478 kilometers). Therefore they have less than 15 slots to construct buildings on (Phobos has 12, and Deimos only 9). However, they have other advantages:
Phobos has a slot that connects to 5 other slots, something not seen in other city layouts. It also has a great natural sight and an aquifer. Finally, once you have a city on Phobos, all your trade routes generate 1 additional support per turn due to the tourism potential.
Deimos has a titanium deposit and 4 anomalies that let science-producing buildings produce 1 extra science when constructed there. Also, once you have a city on Deimos, all your space projects will cost 15% less of each resource to complete. This is due to it being a great launch hub for other missions into space due to its neglectable gravity.
A city on Phobos.
Expectation rise forecasting
For many players the moment expectation rise events would occur felt random and abrupt. Therefore, we’ve included an indicator with 4 stages above your stored support. The more filled up the bar is, the higher the chance of an expectation rise in the next turn. The bar is divided into 4 stages:
Stage 1, green: no chance of an expectation rise.
Stage 2, yellow: small chance of an expectation rise.
Stage 3, orange: likely chance of an expectation rise.
Stage 4, red: high chance of an expectation rise.
Every turn, the bar fills up a little, indicating the increased chance of an expectation rise event. Also if a positive event happens, the bar will fill up depending on how strong the event was. And when a negative or damage event happens, the bar will be partly emptied depending on how bad the event was or how much damage you suffered. Hovering the bar gives you more information about what affected the chance of an expectation rise this turn.
Expectation forecasting bar.
New content
With this new update, we’re also adding 8 levels of content unlock. It includes 17 new buildings, 1 new space project, 3 new technologies and 3 new leaders.
Some of the new content.
There are also 2 new events: asteroids that can be mined as space projects, and a catastrophic event: will you be able to protect Mars from a planet-destroying meteor?
A mineable asteroid.
Other improvements
We’ve also worked on many visual- and quality of life improvements. Such as an improved planet visual, improved tutorial and tooltips to help new players, and some animations.
Improvements to the planet visual (old vs new).
How you can help us
The upcoming 1.0 release will be the most important one for us financially, as it will determine if our studio can be sustainable and if we can continue to develop more games. Therefore, if you think we deserve it, we would like to politely ask you to leave a positive review on Steam or GoG. As we are so close to release, a review now will have the biggest impact as it will affect our “recent score” once the game launches. We would be eternally grateful!
We would like to take this moment to thank all of you for your support during this Early Access adventure! Your feedback has helped us tremendously to improve the game in the areas that most needed it, and your stories have warmed our hearts to at least temperature level 3!

Battle Drones: Red Rock Resistance — Types of Enemies part 1
During your journey playing Red Rock Resistance, you will defeat countless enemy drones. There will be many types of enemies in the game — with different weapons and skills. Therefore, it is worth being well-prepared and choosing the right strategy for each type of opponent. Today we will introduce you to the types of drones that you will first encounter in the game.
Visit our blogs introducing the melee & ranged weapons available in our game.
Melee Drone
This type of drone attacks at close range with a baton. Since it is a short weapon, it’s advantageous to use a ranged weapon to defeat this drone.
Ranged Drone
This drone attacks with a laser weapon that is relatively fast and has a long range. The laser beam is visible, which makes their attacks more predictable and easier to avoid. However, when drones attack in large groups it might become more difficult to avoid.
Heavy Drone
Heavy Drone is much more challenging than the previously highlighted drones. It attacks the opponent at a closer range. Heavy drones are equipped with special shields that increase defence and reduce damage taken. They also support nearby drones with a defensive aura, making them worthy opponents on the battlefield.
Exploding Drone
Spot an Exploding Drone nearby? It’s best to run! This drone is equipped with bombs that can explode at any moment. Beware! If you come too close to it, your drone’s HP might just take a massive hit!
We hope you found this article about enemy drones interesting! We’ll be sure to do part 2 for other enemy drones you already be coming across!
