In 1.0.3, we've got two major features and some very minor bugfixes.

  • A Simple Game Save System

As of 1.0.3, we encourage you to try a playthrough with a different style. Try to earn all of the Steam Achievements by trying a run where you take every stranger's items. Let your guard down and invite more people inside than usual. Fight everyone! Try it all and get proper Steam Achievements in the process.

Also in this version is saving of your current run. After each night progress is saved. Read your nightly report and then go to bed, knowing that when you wake up tomorrow you can pick up where you left off. Imagine only playing one night at a time? That could be kinda fun!

Along with this, we found a few places where the game could potentially crash that are now fixed. Hooray stability!

Batching performance improvements:

This update should bring a noticeable performance increase on vanilla maps, and curated/modded maps too if/when the map creators opt-in. There was a similar update several years ago, but it had to be disabled because it used too much memory (RAM) for some players - actually reducing performance and/or crashing. According to the Steam hardware survey ~96% of players have 8+ GB of RAM now, so with some useful improvements it has been re-enabled. As a precaution it can be disabled by default on the backend if the update goes poorly, and you can disable it with this command-line option if necessary: -UseLevelBatching=false

Today we release the Physics Sensor Minor Update! This includes the new physics sensor, which is a new component giving composite logical output including positional and rotational information.



This data output is particularly useful for microcontroller designers who are interested in building their own gyros and other motion control systems, which should now be much easier and practical.



This component is in response to player requests on the issue tracker and we continue to enjoy hearing your thoughts and ideas and implementing them when possible!
