Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days - Harriet_PikPokCM
Happy Friday! (Well, it's Friday for us here in Wellington, New Zealand, but we do live in the future most of the time.)
We've seen a few questions cropping up since releasing our announcement trailer, and we wanted to answer some of the most common ones here. Feel free to add any other burning questions in the comments, and we'll either answer them directly or include them in a later post.
1. Cool trailer, but call me when there's gameplay.
Let us know your number! More seriously, it's great that you're interested in seeing some gameplay footage, and we're excited to give you more insight into the look and feel of the gameplay further down the line as we get closer to Early Access. But we've gotta finish making it first!
2. Hey Joe, you wanna play a zombie game?
YES, this is a popular genre! For a reason. Something about it has endured across generations of media. And we still think there are aspects of it that haven't been fully explored, and we want to tackle those with Our Darkest Days. If you don't like zombie games, that's totally fine! This game isn't for you. But we love 'em, and we're making this for those of you who love 'em too.
3. Wait, isn't Into the Dead a mobile game? Is this some kind of remake or port?
It's not. This is a brand new made-for-PC game that we are lovingly crafting from scratch that takes place in the world of Into the Dead, before the events of the mobile games. It's a completely different style of game with different characters and gameplay, but much of the apocalypse canon and lore will be retained. Our Darkest Days will stand entirely on its own, so you don't need to have played those games to enjoy it.
4. Is it a runner/on wheels/a point and click?
Players will be able to move around and explore levels at their own pace. Or hide, as the case may be...
5. Why is 2024 so far away?
It'll come around quicker than you think! Stick around though, because we've got some fun stuff lined up to show you before release.

▶ Issue where a "You did not participate in the game within the time limit. A penalty will be applied when the current game ends." pop-up displays and matching cannot be proceeded
▶ Issue where a different country's pop-up asking to verify one's identity displays during log-in
