I am extremely happy to be moving version 0.1.4 from testing to live today! This update includes the highly requested hotbar system, a new dedicated ammo slot in the equipment screen, and several bug fixes.
New hotbar system -
By far the most requested addition since launch has been a hotbar. When designing the game I chose against adding one, but now that it is added and feeling good, I cant imagine it without one!
Items can either be dragged into the hotbar or added directly from the item-info screen. Once they are in the hotbar they will highlight then they are equipped, track durability and item count.
Dedicated ammo slot -
Your ammo of choice can now be equipped rather than the first projectile in the inventory being used. This should make it far easier to choose the right ammo for each fight!

Fixes –
• Fixed language selection flags offset on 21:9 resolutions • Fixed bug with fired projectiles sometimes vanishing when pausing the game • Fixed character deletion button offset on 21:9 resolutions • Removed equip option from stocks key • Fixed gamepad slider visual glitch on mobile devices • Fixed gamepad visual glitch when changing from 16:9 to 21:9 • Fixed bug when pausing the game quickly after attracting an item which could cause it to fly far away • Fixed Ballian returning from a task visual glitch • Fixed glowstick missing description in discovery items • Fixed boss health bars sometimes flickering during fights • Improved AI pathfinding when retreating • Fixed bug when dying on the arena start point which could restart the battle
Balance changes –
• Reduced fiddlers attack range by 25% • Fiddler will no longer respawn

We are planning to release a Kickstarter to fund the rest of the game's development, before the end of January (this time it's actually for real). We've been keeping our options open but have decided that games like this are better when you can play them all at once. A story loses a lot of its luster when you're forced to wait months for the next piece. It also eases development; since I don't necessarily work or write linearly, I have to shelve good ideas for future parts of the story in lieu of forcing out playable ideas now. I'll let you guys know when the Kickstarter goes live here.

Bugfixes:
Fixed a crash that would occur when entering into a new area in certain cases.
Fixed a bug with Bite doing 0 damage.
Fixed a small bug with combat line dialogue.
Fixed a bug with some movement abilities putting units out of bounds (still).
Fixed an animation bug that would cause multiple animations to fail to play at the same time.
Fixed a bug with certain types of hitboxes not updating.
Misc:
Toned down lock marker animation.
Quick Save slot in the save menu will also disappear if quick/save load is disabled.
Changed counter rules to always have consistent damage, instead of changing the original attack's damage.

What’s an ‘Abiotic Factor’ anyway?
An Abiotic Factor is any non-living thing that affects an ecosystem. Think: water, light, temperature – if you don’t have them, you die. Because ABF is a survival game.
But locating the necessities of life deep underground won’t be easy. Off the back of exceptional research, and a few safety hiccups, the GATE Cascade Research Facility is experiencing temporal and spatial instabilities and you’re caught in the thick of it.
Use those big brains to craft, cook, build and fight your way to freedom, through an open – subterranean – world. Just don’t expect it to be easy. You’re super smart, not superhuman, so it’s all about brains over brawn.

This quick update today addresses some issues with Steam Achievements. After looking through the system that handles the unlocking of achievements I've found a few bugs that were preventing the following achievements from unlocking reliably
Campaign
Grand Income Stream (4000 denari a month income)
Exceptional Income Streams (7000 denari a month income)
A Watchful Eye (50+ Roman security civic service buildings in total)
Sandbox
Sandbox Adventure (15m playtime in sandbox)
Advanced Sandbox Play-through (30mplaytime in sandbox)
Sandbox Empire (45m+ playtime in sandbox)
Financial Preparation (50,000+ denari reserves)
Advanced Finances (100,000+ denari reserves)
All of these achievements should now be unlock-able and should happen naturally during your campaign or sandbox play-throughs.

Last October, Steam updated the recommended market rates for various currencies. In line with this, we have also reset the prices for some currencies for this title.
Prices for Japanese Yen (JPY) and U.S. Dollars (USD) will remain the same, but prices of other currencies have been adjusted to the current recommended market rates. (Prices have generally increased... Sorry)
