New Year’s Eve – VRChat’s biggest event of the year – is again upon us!
Once the event is live, you'll be able to join in by launching VRChat and finding the VRChat Square world in your Worlds menu at the top! There are two versions -- one is normal capacity at 16 for a comfy event, and a MAXIMUM capacity version at 40 if you want to bring in all your friends!
The event will start at the first New Year in the world -- UTC +14, the earliest time zone on Earth!
Check your Worlds menu to find the "New Years 2023" category! Click on it to see both worlds! Hop in an instance with your friends, or spin a new one up!
Ring in 2023 with your friends as it arrives across the world! We’ve given our New Year’s Eve world a brand new coat of paint, as well as invited in a brand new set of community creators to make it extra special!
They’ve brought in their food trucks, stocked their booths, and helped hang their billboards all around VRChat Square. There’s a ton to explore – you’ll probably see a few familiar faces, as well as some brand new ones! (And don’t forget to keep an eye out for new Groups to join!)
And of course, there’s also the brand new VRChat Entertainment Network, presented on the Tundra Stage, which will be streaming DJ sets from some of the most talented performers in the VRChat community throughout the day. Check the lineup below!
But the VRChat Entertainment Network isn’t just about music – throughout the day we’ll also be playing hundreds of video submissions from the community! If you're curious to see who's got a video lined up, check out the schedule.
In VRChat Square, the ball drops for every timezone from UTC+14 through UTC-12, with fireworks for everyone along the way! And yep, we've got the half-hour ones. And the three-quarter hour ones! ... and yes, we accounted for ongoing daylight-savings offsets. Wow, time zones are confusing.
(PS: The best place to watch the ball drop might be on top of the tower – and if you’re a fan of Hololive, you might see some familiar faces up there…)
We hope you can come and join the VRChat community as we celebrate yet another year gone by, and look forward to the future!
Thank you all SeaBed fans for your continued support over the years! It's made it possible for us to create something new again! We're now happy to announce a project where we were able to give voice to the game's beloved characters in an all-new story...
Episode 1 contains: Meeting at the school. A strange incident. A scary story. (Length: 13:15)
The episodes are delivered in both a subtitled video format, and a Japanese audio-only track in .wav format.
The video supports Japanese, Japanese (closed captions), English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean subtitles which can be switched at will.
The new Audio Novel scenarios are written by hide38 and directed by AKIRA, with beautiful key illustrations by Tonbu.
Starring
Sachiko has been given a cool and subtle voice by Kondo Yui, known as Biwa Hayahide in Uma Musume, Kiba Mikoto in Triage X, and Nath in 100% Orange Juice!
Meanwhile Takako's silly antics are brought to life by Matsui Eriko (Fuji Kiseki in Uma Musume, Maki Kyouko in Houkago Saikoro Club, Kokuyou in Tsugu Tsugumomo, Kamiya Nao in The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls)!
English Translation: Andrew Hodgson Chinese Translation: Windyshine Korean Translation: Moonbi
The other 2 episodes + Extra episode of the collection will be released one by one over the coming months!
We hope you can all enter into a wonderful year 2023 with this release!
- Bug fixes - Improved code optimization for developers - Fixed not having Game Over on zombies - Fix for being able to select a character in zombies - Fixed being able to show the score on zombies - Map improvement in zombies - Adjustments in Nav Mesh (Place where the AI can go) - Weapon balancing (Damage and Recoil) - Adjustment of values in store items
I know that for many it seems little, but remember that Family Business is only done by one person! Some may even find it strange that I often speak in the plural , but the reason for that is simple , everyone who likes Family Business is part of the game 's production , because without the Family Business community it is nothing , that 's why we always ask you to send us an email talking about bugs , ideas , tips , whatever we want to hear what you have to say about Family Business !
A peek into the future that's coming for Family Business in the year 2023:
- WEAPONS RELOADING ANIMATION (Nobody deserves not to have animation) - Multiplayer on zombies - Small campaigns/missions in single player - Customization of both character and weapons - New maps for both classic Family Business mode and zombies - New gamemodes ( Free For All , Capture the Flag , Kill Confirmed , Gun Game , ETC )
And so many other news are yet to come , but with this little peek into the future , you can already imagine what is to come for this project !
I thank everyone who is part of my story! I've always wanted to make games and now it's becoming a reality so I'll never give up working regardless of the results I get! Dream , Believe and Realize !
Thank you for understanding and good game everyone!
We're continuing to make progress on Star Stuff and are excited to share some updates with you.
WIP red giant room Art-wise, we're happy to report that a large portion of our assets are complete for every zone of the star factory. Patrick and César have also been working on an efficient system for our NPCs, allowing for a ton of variety with just three models that share the same rig. They've implemented retargeting with a humanoid rig to apply the same animation clips to all NPC models and have also added shader animation for the eyes and blend shapes for mouth animations. We're also experimenting with physics-based animations for NPC accessories, like wobbly alien ears!
Our next priorities are to build out the design of our progression system and refine our gameplay assets.
WIP NPCs aka your starlien crew WIP t-tauri terrace On the level design front, we've validated the mechanics and concepts for Zones 0-5, and have tested Zones 0-2. We're planning to test Zone 3 levels soon after the new year. If you'd like to help us out by testing, please join our discord!
grey box level, zone 2 We've also been focusing on solidifying the story beats for the game. We're watching playtests and thinking about the right questions to ask ourselves to get players to their "aha!" moment. We're discussing the possibility of adding a light hint system to help players along. And, just for fun, we've been chatting with Chat GPT about star formation a lot these days. Ha!
Finally, we've made some changes to the game feel to improve the player experience. If you played our demo, you may have noticed that you couldn't move around to explore the puzzle before coding. We've changed this so that you can move freely and approach a terminal when you're ready to code. We hope this will allow you to jump in and try things out right away. Our coding editor is also getting a MAJOR facelift thanks to our UX designer, Martín.
We hope you're as excited about these updates as we are! As always, thanks for following along with our progress on Star Stuff.
Wishing you the best year yet!
Shine on, Sylvia & the rest of the Star Stuff team

Please note, you might have issues with saves, we think this is due to adding in achievements but we're not 100% sure. Some saves worked for us and some didn't.
If you do have issues with saves, you'll need to start a new game and you can hold CTRL to skip over the text of episode 1 faster.
