Since it is the holiday season, we wanted to take the opportunity to introduce the team behind Don't Die in the West. Our team is a small group of talented people dedicated to creating fun games. We have a shared passion for the western genre, which inspired us to create Don't Die in the West.

Tommy H. - Lead Artist

”I am a creative octopus who loves to create all the visual elements you can imagine in a game. I have been working with games professionally for 12 years and playing them since I was old enough to handle a mouse and a keyboard.
We are a small but strong art team on DDITW. It includes Jan, Juan, and myself. Jan is our technical art wizard and Juan is an all-around gunslinger artist.
It's hard to pick just one western movie, but I think Tarantino did something extraordinary with The Hateful Eight.”

Tommy P. - Lead programmer

“I'm 37 years old and have been working on games professionally for the better part of 12 years.
As lead programmer, I act as the link between the many different disciplines working on the project. Together with Kasper and Daniel, I am making sure everyone has the technical tools needed to create an awesome game.
My list of great western movies is many, one of my favorites is the original Westworld movie from 1973 (the one that later inspired a very popular HBO series).”

Glen C. - Creative Lead

”I've been working with games for almost 15 years. First as a programmer, then designer, and now as the creative lead.
Together with Mette in the role of game and level designer we work on bringing our vision of the western frontier to life.
My favorite western is A Fistful of Dollars. It's a little rough around the edges, but you can feel all the care put into making it.”

- Unity upgraded to 2020.3.42f1.
- fixed a bug where using a Medic to rally a Shaken Dedicated unit would use the dedicated ability instead of the medic.
- fixed a crash when Somali units fail a Morale Roll to enter an enemy hex.
- Scenario Editor: added setup restriction 'must have 1 unit in each hex'.
- Scenario Editor: added event effects Sniper Arrive & Attack Hex, and Unit Group Random Arrival Even-Odd.
Asfalia Playtest - jdc-funtomata
  • Charlie can no longer go back to the lava lake after waking up Samovar
  • A salmon will no longer hang around after swiming up the river
  • Changed the game's subtitle from "Book 1 : Anger" to "Anger"
  • Charlie's mailbox sticker now has green eyes.

Age of Fear: The Free World - Les
Happy New Year to you all! That was quite a year, both personally and also in series development. We have made many fixes and patches, and also added a few great additions like pushing mechanics, illusions, AI heroes, taunts, light sources, just to name a few. Our to-do list is still quite long and we still have many awesome features to implement.

We have also made good progress on the next game in the series with a completely new Ratmen faction. I am also about to upload a new trailer (hopefully you can watch it now). If it all goes well, we should be able to release it in 2023.



That said, I would like to wish you all the best in New Year 2023! Happy gaming!
