Alright, punies, there you have it—10 facts about the greatest villain of all time and his game, which also happens to be the greatest. Let us know what you think about these facts in the comments below. And speaking of the greatest games: they tend to last. This is precisely the case with Despot's Game: we will continue to roll out updates, deliver new content and nurture our puny human community. So the last thing we want to talk to you about this year is our studio's plans for the future.
KONFA GAMES'S FUTURE PLANS
We continue improving Despot’s Game and would like to share some of our plans. This isn’t a roadmap or a public offer but a set of tasks that we’ve already started working on or that we’ve decided to work on.
THINGS WE WILL BE WORKING ON IN THE NEAR FUTURE:
Run stats and specific battle stats. These are two significant and interrelated UX tasks. They should make it easier to understand the efficiency of different classes and different mutations and make it easier to identify strategic mistakes.
Abilities for tier 4 items. We’re unlikely to bestow unique abilities on all items, but we’ll certainly do it for tier 4 items, similar to the tier 5 ones.
Fine-tuning the UX of the Challenges DLC. Some features, like searching for the required mutation in the store with infinite reroll, need more work. This fine tuning really needs to be done ASAP.
New text events. Cause, you know... Why the hell are we not doing more of them?
New mutations, of course! Yes, we still don’t think there are enough mutations, so there will be more.
In addition, there are many minor tasks left to do, i.e., polishing the game. For example, limiting which text events can appear in the first biome, finishing the sound effects for some of the mutations, and adding quirky idle animations for all the humans.
We’re also planning to experiment with new game modes. The first on the list is a mode with no food at all. It’s pretty hard to make such a mode well-balanced, but we’ll try. Some future updates won’t contain any new content—only balance changes. We’re trying to move on to less frequent but more extensive content updates, since every content update takes a lot of time to upload, localize and test (updates are published not only on Steam but also on EGS and mobile platforms now.) So if you see an update that only contains balance changes, this doesn’t mean that we’ve stopped developing new content for Despot’s Game—we’re just saving up the new content.
You might have noticed that no new monsters are being announced. That’s right, we’ve decided that there are enough already. There might be new ones in the future, but for now, we’ve paused continuously generating new opponents. Why? Because it’s time for a NEW PROJECT! A new uNaNnoUnCeD project in the Despot universe! We’re going to expand our team in 2023 so that there are enough Despot's minions to work on Despot’s Game and that new title. But don’t ask us about it, alright? Just wait for the official announcement!
And that wraps it up for this year, hums. It's was a damn awesome year, and we're grateful to each and every one of you for fearlessly crawling Despot's dungeon, tossing toxic feedback at our unsuspecting butts, sh*tting on the game's balance, asking us to buff Healers and just for being with us.
Merry Desptmas, Happy New Year and see you all in 2023, puny humans! If you want to wish the Despot something for Christmas, go ahead and use the comment section under this post.
P.S.: Your feedback is not toxic at all: it was a salty joke in the Despot's tone of voice. You're the best community ever, punies.
It has been a very busy few months on Stardeus, with a number of new features, bug fixing, and quality of life improvements for the game. There’s much more to come, with a cool new surprise winging its way to the game in the early parts of the new year, but since we are approaching the end of 2022 this felt like a good time to recap everything that has been added and updated since the start of November 1st.

And what better way to celebrate than with an incredible V8 muscle machine. This week you can unlock the 1970 AMC Rebel 'The Machine' with its flamboyant red, white, and blue paint scheme that made as much of a statement as its 340-horsepower V8. From the factory this Rebel was poised as a street legal drag race car and could run mid-14s in the quarter mile, while the distinctive ram-air hood scoop and hood-mounted tachometer contributed to its performance-minded attitude.
By earning 20 PTS on this week’s Festival Playlist, you can expand your garage with this delightfully different muscle car from AMC, a manufacturer notorious for taking on the big three in its own way with performance that could give the big boys a run for their money. Now you can prove that it’s the definitive pony car in Forza Horizon 5 – see you at the drag strip!
As a reminder, this week is your last chance to participate in our Monthly Rivals and Forza EV events, as well as unlock the overall Horizon Holidays series rewards. You have until Thursday, January 5 to get your hands on these cars, as well as the rewards discussed in this blog:

Hotfix patch for Windows has been released to address the following issues:
Version 3.72 (patch #1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - fixed: audio issues
On some systems audio got played wrong, and the audio loading failures also made the game crash prone. The issues were linked to SDL_mixer version in use we've now reverted back to using SDL_mixer 2.0.4.
- fixed: character portrait being shown in message log screen - fixed: character portrait not showing up after using encyclopedia in skills menu - fixed: arrows picked from villages not tagged as unpaid
If you had trouble running with 3.72 due to audio problems we dearly hope this patch fixes them for you and for all - and for good.
Should the problems persist for you we'll continue the bug hunting, and in the meantime there's previous stable version available which you can opt-into. To play the previous version 3.71 check the betas using code urwversion371 and opt-into the 3.71 "beta branch" that appears.
And hey, if this patch brings you from the unfortunate muffled and crash prone audio league back into proper stable UnReal World again let us know!
We made some fixed to the festive rewards... If you did manage to put out all the light in Swindon, the cap should now be available in your wardrobe. However make sure you knock out at least one light before trying to put it on.
and a bunch of other fixes like to the festive onesie - the required bulbs is actually 500 not 100.
