ASKA - The Sad Snail
Hail tribe leaders!
Today at 7PM CET our Sand Sailor Studio crew will be taking you through ASKA, showing you how to survive, build and become a true tribe leader.

In the last episode, we did a lot of resource gathering, a bit of building and we even got our first villager - Frida! (say hi, Frida!)

We learned how to find our feet in the Lands Beyond and how to turn scarcity into... well not prosperity, but at least a couple of wooden shacks and a campfire.

In this episode we'll attempt to gain more villagers, and a steady flow of food and crafting materials going. Hopefully we won't get eaten by the bear, nor have our resources chewed up by smolkrs!

Remember the rage of the sea!
Remember the light in the darkness!

See you there, tribe leaders!

Hey Survivors,

2022 has been an exhilarating ride for all of us.
In 1st quarter of 2022, We started off strong by hitting our peak player count on Steam and maintaining a high amount of active players. For this, we’d like to offer our deepest gratitude to our wonderful community who has stood by us and empowered us to prosper. It is such a humbling experience and we sincerely hope that you’ll stick around as we strive for newer heights!

At the moment, nominations for this year’s Steam Awards are underway and we’d like to ask for your support once again by nominating DayZ for the Labor of Love Award 2022. The criteria for this prestigious award is as follows:

“This game has been out for a while. The team is well past the debut of their creative baby, but being the good parents they are, these devs continue to nurture and support their creation. This game, to this day, is still getting new content after all these years.”

This, as you already know, perfectly describes what DayZ is. It’s not just a labor of love that belongs to the dev team or Bohemia Interactive in general; it also belongs to you, the community, who’ve made friends through the game and collaborated with each other to tailor the DayZ experience to your unique tastes.

This year, the team has worked rigorously to release 4 updates along with supported patches and 3 seasonal events, We introduced new content that includes various firearms, new playstyles and upgrades, customizations to community servers, and an entirely new point of interest added to our DLC map Livonia (underground bunkers). It’s been a long and arduous road for the team but it’s totally worth it because we know and love our committed community of modders, content creators, and server owners who have been pushing out amazing content throughout the year like creative tools, week-long competitions, and a plethora of new community maps.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and believe that both the community and developers deserve this amazing award.

So if you feel the same way, please cast your vote and show us your support.

Thank you,
The DayZ Team

RaceRoom Racing Experience - Georg
When you learn to drive a street car, there’s a process. You start on something small, something slow - maybe you never even learn how to use a manual shift. You build up; you usually also have someone by the side of you, telling you not to drive into the wall.

But in race sims there’s an expectation that we can jump into a high-powered racing car and immediately be on the pace. And more importantly, enjoy the experience. But, the more accurate the sim, naturally the more difficult some cars are to drive.

In Raceroom we’ve got some monsters: 1970s Group 5 cars that have so much turbo lag you could get a good night’s sleep before their ferocious power kicks in; we’ve got 1990s DTM racers that you have to push to the edge if you want to extract the ultimate lap time; there are the fearsome 2000s GT1s, all firepower, that you have to bully round the track; and how about modern prototypes and Formula cars, awash with technology and switches, that require your brain to be operating on as high a level as your hands and feet.

Everything happens more quickly in a racecar. Everything is more exciting. But everything is less forgiving.

The worst thing is to jump in a sim, pick your dream car and then fire it off at the first corner. Sure, you can always press reset in a sim, but sometimes the experience will be better by slowing things down. By taking a breath and concentrating on progressing and learning. And enjoyment.

So for our annual big December release, we present the Drivers Pack. It’s not specifically a beginners pack – although it will serve perfectly in that guise, if you’re looking to start your career – but it is supposed to present a sensible progression through a set of cars that deliver very different performance levels. Most importantly, these cars are fun to drive. Really fun.

We’ve included the latest version of a modern classic - the go-to starter car for drivers all round the world, Mazda’s iconic MX-5 (or Miata for old school North Americans).

Next up are two actual classics from Crosslé, a manufacturer you may not have heard of, but who have a history stretching back to the ‘50s. We’re presenting the modern continuation versions of models that have been in production for decades, but still deliver thrills - and occasional spills if you don’t get them right.

Directly linked to Crosslé is the circuit included in this release: the epic twists and turns of Charade, buried deep in France’s volcano country – and home to Crosslé’s driving school.

Finally, a pocket rocket where you have to balance the power of a modern mini prototype with belief in the magic of downforce: Praga’s R1.

Over the next couple of weeks we’ll bring you more information on each of the four cars included in the release: how we’ve modelled them and brought the physics to life, plus some recommendations on how to drive them. And just enough history to not bore anyone!

World War 3 - NathanOfCydonia
There’s no bond quite like the bond between you and your squad. You may fight together, even die in-game together, but you’ll always have each other’s backs. Join us as we take a closer look at squad play in World War 3 in our latest Feature Spotlight!

INTRODUCTION TO SQUADPLAY
World War 3 currently features two different modes. Tactical Ops, which pits five-player squads (for a total of 40 players in each match) against each other to attack or defend capture points, and Team Deathmatch, a classic FPS mode that’s an action-packed, 10-versus-10 race to victory. Though very different, both modes share one thing in common: teamwork is the key to victory.

World War 3 was always envisioned to be a game founded on cooperative as well as competitive play. Even if you fight well solo, sometimes you’ll need to work together to attain victory. We recommend teaming up with squadmates you know for the optimum tactical experience, but you can work just as effectively with a squad you’ve just met.

TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE SQUADPLAY IN WORLD WAR 3
Follow our top tips for working together, and you’ll be taking the battlefield by storm in no time!
  • Use Voice Chat: Fast response times are critical, and coordinating over voice chat is one of the best, most direct ways to sync with your team.
  • Issue Orders: Squad leaders can issue orders, so it pays to have a tactical genius heading up your team.
  • Follow Orders: There’s a good incentive to listen to your squad leader. Follow orders to enjoy bonus XP! Additionally, if you capture objectives as a squad, your capture time decreases for extra squadmate present.
  • Clear Communication: Let squadmates know about imminent threats, or where to focus their fire.
  • Focus Your Efforts: Try to coordinate your firepower to attack or defend key positions.
  • Share Equipment: If your allies need a hand, share your supplies to help them out. You never know when you’ll need to call in a favor, too!
  • Mind Your Surroundings: Watch your allies’ sixes from the air using flying drones, and even weaponize them to provide top aerial support.
  • Disrupt Enemy Comms: Use the jammer to disrupt enemy communications, isolate them, and pick them off amidst the technical chaos.
  • Operate Vehicles: Roll out together in vehicles and tanks to reclaim the streets and battlefields. You can assign and adopt different positions such as driver and gunner, too.
  • Deploy Strikes: Make it safe for your squad by launching artillery and other strikes to clear areas out before moving in to clean up what’s left.

Teams who master the art of cooperation will find a world of tactical possibilities at their disposal. Squad up and prepare to fight in World War 3!
