Neon Noodles - Vivid Helix
As the name suggests, this is a "burn everything" kind of update, lots of big changes!! Unfortunately, it's also a complete score-wipe, save-reset, progression-clean kind of update.

The big news here is that this makes Neon Noodles complete "content-wise" (though not quite "feature-wise" yet). Read on.

All the levels, mechanics, tools, and the story (missing the end for now) are now in the game. Everything else that remains is tagged under Quality of Life (see Roadmap Steam post for more details).

Here's everything that changed:

  1. breaking changes progression/saves/metrics/recipes, so complete scores/saves/progression wipe!
  2. finalized level progression, lots more levels, easily 2x play time compared to before
  3. many more yummy foods from everywhere
  4. story (without ending)
  5. updated Steam page description to be in line with the story
  6. teleport tweaks
  7. station priority/double use error improvements
  8. video tutorials for mouse/controller
  9. portraits
  10. icons refresh, and lot more icons for all the new foods
  11. behind-the-scenes housekeeping (saves/validation)
  12. larger play area mid-late game
  13. proper story-only entries in the companion
  14. an assortment of bug fixes
  15. optional auto-padding in late game
  16. drag to move
  17. finalized metrics
  18. greatly expanded automated test coverage, especially around double use

Team Make System

In the next update, the new Team Make System will be added to the game
When you create a room, you will be able to select your ideal squad from the squad map on the right and send your recruitment information to the global recruitment or server recruitment channels.


-- When you send a recruitment message, you will enter a recruitment state that lasts 60 seconds, during which time you cannot send another recruitment message, start a game via Quick Start, or leave the room.

--Eligible players can enter your team via Follow in the recruitment channel, but players cannot enter your game via the friends list or other channels.

--When your team finishes filling during recruitment, then the match will start automatically.

--Settings in the lineup map will not affect the outcome of matches via Quick Start

Early access is almost here!!!! I hope you’re all as excited as I am! It’s been a long road from when we first set pen to paper to start drawing concept art and character designs for Dysterra. I’m so happy to see all of you amazing(and magnificent!) people waiting on the edges of your seats for our launch into Early Access. Thank you for encouraging our team and helping us make Dysterra into what has become.

We’ve got a new set of upgrades for the skill tree, a random box(of skins!) you can earn, an inventory management system, and a new attack for the cyclops.

📒 Skill Tree Upgrade
We’ve added a third tab to the skill menu: COMBAT

The new combat skill tree consists of two main tiers: “fast reload” and “specialization.” And each tier has a skill for improving only a specific gun-type: short-range guns, mid-range guns, long-range guns, and rocket launchers. I think “fast reload” is pretty self explanatory. “Specialization” reduces durability lost when firing a gun.



We’re hoping this will give players more choices on how they can choose to play the game. Beginners might spread their skill points between different gun types, while Dysterra veterans might prefer to throw all of their skill points into a single gun type.

The choice is yours!

📒 Random Box
Some of you may remember that we added the “Terra Shop” to our game’s lobby. One of the things we’ve added to the shop is a random box. Each time you open a random box, you’ll unlock 3 new skins that you can use when crafting in-game. Note: You won’t receive any items when you open a random box, but you’ll be able to craft new items with the skins you unlock.



So how can you purchase these new skins? With Terra Points! We want to reward survivors who play frequently as well as ranked survivors, so there are two ways to get Terra Points (TP):
1. Log in daily.
2. Weekly TP rewards according to your global ranking.



📒 Easier Crafting With Remote Chest Access
We realized a lot of players were struggling with inventory management. Running back and forth between your crafting bench and your storage chests can get tiring. And we wanted to make it at least a little easier.

We’ve modified the inventory UI so you can see what’s in nearby chests and drag and drop items from one chest directly into another. You can even open up a chest and craft directly from inside it!



📒 Cyclops Now Shoot Lasers!

The cyclops is definitely the most dangerous Orbis robot out in the wild. It initially had a slicing attack for close range, as well as a jumping attack for mid-range… Now we’ve added a laser attack to the cyclops to keep players on their toes no matter where they are.
