Hey there Escapists!

We've made it through launch weekend on our first DLC and are glad people have been able to experience what the Coin Crew Games team has been hard at work building the last few months. That being said, we've received reports of bugs and some feedback on the UX for specific puzzles and we wanted to let everyone know that we're aware and actively working on fixes!

We are super appreciative of the feedback and we wanted to make sure the community knows we're taking the reports seriously and we're shooting to get a fix out as quickly as possible (while ensuring all the fixes are bulletproof).

What are we working on?

There are a handful of nasty desync issues and one puzzle in particular has some UX smoothing out that's needed. More specific patch notes below.

POTENTIAL PUZZLE SPOILERS

  • Inappropriately large GPU consumption on Very High / Ultra graphics settings is getting smoothed out.
  • Chatterbox Achievement not firing properly on the base game after talking to the appropriate amount of characters is being fixed.
  • On "The Experiment" there's multiple bugs with the spinning wheel, math puzzle on one of the turrets. These are being addressed.
  • On "Into the Capture Dimension" there's issues where the laser-maze puzzle completes without placing the mirrors correctly and occasionally the mirrors get stacked on top of each other rendering the puzzle unsolvable. Both of these are being addressed.
  • Also on "Into the Capture Dimension," we've received a lot of feedback surrounding the UX on the mine field puzzle. In order to make this less frustrating, we are implementing a system that will reveal where previously triggered bombs are located on the board so it's not a COMPLETE reset every time a bomb is triggered.

If there are additional bugs that have effected your experience with the DLC, please let us know in the comments or on our Discord! We want to make sure this patch captures and fixes as many issues as time allows.

Timeline

We are planning to push a new version of the game up to our "Hotfix" branch this Friday 11/18.

As a heads up, it will take a bit longer to get the fixes pushed and ported to consoles, so for those cross-playing with friends on non-Steam platforms, there may be some compatibility issues on the hotfix branch as we're introducing new features for one of the puzzles.

Provided everything is stable, we'll get this all merged on to the main branch and all other platforms as soon as possible.

For those of you who've had their experience with the DLC and Escape Academy soured by bugs, we are sorry! We hope that these fixes will encourage those who were unable to finish the DLC, to do so.

Your feedback and engagement is important to us so PLEASE continue to flag things as they arise. We'll do our best to fix in a timely manner and take all of these learnings into future Escape Academy content.

Progression
At the core Redemption's Guild is based on progression. There are a variety of different ways to progress that include advancing your class level and account rank, unlocking skills and passives, and collecting armor, astral shards, and weapons.

Customization
Customization is what will make your character unique. From the appearance of the armor and weapons you are wielding, to the skills you decide to take on the battlefield, play the character you want to play.

Hey all! Game's starting to get traction O_O

Wrath of Anias - The Trelstad One
Today we are releasing a small bug fix for the Wrath of Anias.

The major bug that was fixed is the Lighthouse sometimes remained standing after beating the game. In addition, there are a few other performance fixes and bug fixes in this patch as well.

Build Changes:
  • DLC would not play from the panel. We have implemented a quick check to see if the DLC file is completely installed and in the correct location before going into the video player. If a problem still occurs, please check that all your DLC are installed and the install is verified through steam.

  • Elevator not working. The elevator had a reported bug where it would not activate under some conditions. We have made this process much easier to start and control.
We are very passionate about this experience as well as your experience with Exhale. We are planning more improvements as soon as possible. Thank you for your valuable feedback and patience as we tackle the problems that arise.

Just a little sneak peek of the upcoming DLC... It promises to be quite claustrophobic.

The workflow is on schedule, with an approximate release date in early December.
Also in the near future will be released album with soundtracks for those who want to somehow support me besides buying the game.

VR Zen Garden & ASMR Playground - Tazzoman
Unity 2021
Reconstructed with the latest stable Unity3d version and the latest version of Envrio (clouds, weather, seasons, day/night cycle) Upgraded to OpenVR / OpenXR capability.

VR-Player System
New VR player interaction system with remote grabbing abilities, teleport and smooth locomotion options, and the ability to add much more. This also meant we had to rework all objects and menu systems.

Arm Menu System
Now you can change your meditations anywhere in the world. We also included a new Teleport menu to teleport to your favorite spots!

Lighting / Optimizations
With the new Enviro we have tweaked all the lighting, day / night cycles and dynamic shadows as the sun and moon move throughout the day. We added a ton of optimizations and tweaks to make it look good and run well on mid range systems. This is a pretty detailed world with a lot of moving trees, grasses, leaves, birds, butterflies, etc. So we do recommend a GTX 3070 or higher. Its not a game meant to be zooming around and running.

Seasons / Weather
We added Summer with the seasons menu which adds chances of rain. You start off in the Spring which will has no rain. And winter works like before, it will change the landscape to a winter wonderland and add chances of snow. The nights are a bit darker and feel right with the nice big moon.

Shed
We left a little Easter-egg in the shed to experience the world a different way. :) We used it for debugging, but thought it might be nice to allow the player to reach new heights.

Changes:
- Fixed a bug where you may start with -4 score in daily or weekly runs (this was an accident we swear)
- Attempted to fix a bug where the floor might be blurry after "CHOOSE YOUR CURSE" screen (we are not sure why this happens, seems to happen more frequently on consoles, but we moved the fix to Steam as well)
- Removed all attempts to uppercase the player name for the eastern font (foxlion intro)
- Submitted this build (November 17 2022) for "???" to the "???" platform

PS4 and Switch updates should come later this month, to keep the game on par with Windows/Linux/Deck/macOS/"???"
Counterpact - Uwasatchi
New Gashapon Cosmetics:
  • Development Hypnotic Chain (Common Limited Dream Weapon Skin)
  • Shazia Doll (Uncommon Limited Pet)
    • This item is currently a work in progress. Animations will be added in the future.

New Content:
  • A Capture the Flag mode has been added.
    • Due to the current workload and the work involved in creating a map, the only available map for this mode is Twilight Fountain (which will likely be temporary, as the map was built for Power Struggle). However, players are now able to create their own Capture the Flag maps.

Balancing Adjustments:
  • All projectiles are now cleared upon the start of the next round.
  • Eye Blaster Warden and Growing Pain Warden have had their detection range reduced.
  • E-Laminator's maximum knockback has been increased.

Bug Fixes:
  • Even more attempts at increasing game server stability.
  • Movement interpolation has been reworked.
    • This should result in little to no visible change for most players, but higher latency players (typically those with throttled connections) will now appear to have smoother movement.
  • Fixed not being able to clear the Welcome Message in the server settings.
  • Fixed formatting issues in the item descriptions of weapon skins for default weapons.
  • Fixed client timeouts sometimes not triggering on the game server's end.

Miscellaneous:
  • New music composed specifically for Counterpact by miguelangell960 has been added.
  • Game servers can now be locked behind a password.
    • These servers can still be listed in the browser, but will show a padlock icon to denote they are locked behind a password. Players will not be able to join unless they input the correct password.
  • Eclipsium bundles have been added to the shop.
    • These are items that can be used to trade Eclipsium between players.
    • Due to time constraints, these currently use temporary icons. Their icons will be updated in the future.
  • Using emotes or chairs will now reset the AFK timer.
  • Lil' Invader has been adjusted to no longer display decorations below the saucer.
  • Options have been added to export and import localization data.
    • Not all in-game text has been made compatible with the localization system yet.
    • In the future, official localization data will be included with the game. Due to the localization system being a work-in-progress, and due to a lack of translation resources, players may need to rely on unofficial, community-created translations for the time being.
